WISDOM KEYS FROM PSALM 37 — DON’T ENVY THE WICKED 4 – You have forgiveness
“For the Lord takes care of all his forgiven ones while the strength of the evil will surely slip away.”
Psalm 37:17 (TPT)
Psalm 37 is rich with wisdom. The assurances and detailed counsel in each verse will help every believer to live a life of purpose and faith in God. It brings you into the consciousness of the satisfaction we enjoy in Christ. This wisdom Psalm uproots every form of envy, greed and covetousness. It prunes and establishes your heart in the certainty of God’s faithfulness.
If this is your first time reading this series, I would like you to patiently read through the previous episodes: Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.
Enjoy and rejoice in the Lord’s provision for you.
“For the Lord takes care of all His forgiven ones while the strength of the evil will surely slip away. Day by day the Lord watches the good deeds of the godly and he prepares for them his forever-reward. Even in a time of disaster he will watch over them, and they will always have more than enough no matter what happens.” Psalm 37:17-19 (TPT)
– The Lord takes care of all His forgiven ones.
Who are the forgiven ones?
The Psalm of David is also a prophetic message about what will be fulfilled in Christ. The revelation of Jesus is the central theme of the entire Bible.
During Peter’s message at Pentecost, he repeatedly referred to different Psalms of David as prophecies. And even called David a Prophet.
“But as a prophet, he knew God’s faithful promise, made with God’s unbreakable oath, that one of his descendants would take his throne. So when peering into the future, David prophesied of the Messiah’s resurrection. And God revealed to him that the Messiah would not be abandoned to the realm of death, nor would his body experience decay.” Acts 2:30-31 (TPT)
What this means is that the words of David and other Psalms must not be treated as mere songs but deep prophetic utterances which carry the revelation-light of Christ.
Thus, the understanding of the forgiven ones must be seen in the light of Christ. The forgiven ones weren’t those who had offered animal sacrifices in the Old Covenant. They are those who have received Jesus as the Christ and forgiveness which He has obtained for mankind through his death and resurrection.
As part of the many beautiful things Peter said to Cornelius, he said:
“All the prophets testify about Him, that through His name everyone who believes in Him [whoever trusts in and relies on Him, accepting Him as Savior and Messiah] receives forgiveness of sins.” Acts 10:43 (Amplified Bible).
The forgiven ones are believers in Christ. And the Lord takes care of them. Have this assurance precious saint in Christ, the Lord is interested in your well-being. He takes care of you.
To even have access to His forgiveness is proof that the Lord cares for you.
Take note of these:
1. None received forgiveness by the self-efforts or any works of the flesh. The only requirement is for you to believe that Jesus has made His eternal forgiveness available for you. God’s forgiveness in Christ is a gift of God to you.
“In Him we have redemption [that is, our deliverance and salvation] through His blood, [which paid the penalty for our sin and resulted in] the forgiveness and complete pardon of our sin, in accordance with the riches of His grace.” Ephesians 1:7 (Amplified Bible)
2. Forgiveness is eternal
The forgiveness we received does not have an expiration date. We received forgiveness through the blood of Jesus. The Lord’s blood is not a temporal blood. Its efficacy transcends that of bulls and goats. His blood is an eternal sacred blood because He is eternal. And that forgiveness which His blood accomplishes is eternal.
“And he has entered once and forever into the Holiest Sanctuary of All, not with the blood of animal sacrifices, but the sacred blood of his own sacrifice. And he alone has made our salvation secure forever.” Hebrews 9:12 (TPT)
The forgiveness which we have is not a one-time experience but a continuous and endless rain which keeps us clean and pure.
3. You are not forgiven because you forgave others. You forgive others because you have freely been forgiven. You now have the ability to love and forgive others.
“Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:32 (NLT).
Rejoice in this reality that the Lord has forgiven you.
“BLESSED is he whose transgression is forgiven and whose sin is blotted out.” Psalm 32:1 (Lamsa Bible, Aramaic)
To be called a forgiven one is a great blessing of the Lord.
Hallelujah!

The Lord takes care of His forgiven ones….even in hard times they will have enough. This sends chills to my bones. I now understand why somethings happen to me. In very critical times, help just comes.
The expression forgiven ones transcended those who used bulls and goats and ashes of heifer for sacrifices, because that was temporal, it could not make the conscience of the people clean.
Jesus offered Himself, ones and for all..His blood is eternal offering unto us, eternal forgiveness and continual cleansing. I am not the forgiven one because I forgave others, no!
Because I am forgiven, I forgive others!
