WISDOM KEYS FROM PSALM 37 — DON’T ENVY THE WICKED 7 – You Have a Peaceful Prosperous Future 2
“But you can tell who are the blameless and spiritually mature. What a different story with them! The godly ones will have a peaceful, prosperous future.”
Psalm 37:37 (TPT)
Psalm 37 doesn’t only address the short-lived success and eroding happiness of the wicked.
It establishes the advantage of the godly. No wonder this wisdom Psalm begins with clear instructions for the godly.
“Don’t follow after the wicked ones or be jealous of their wealth. Don’t think for a moment they’re better off than you.” Psalm 37:1 (TPT)
As I mentioned in the previous episode, you don’t have to envy these worldly and ungodly men. Follow God’s plan for your life, labour in wisdom to create wealth. Yet, trust in the Lord as your source. Be content and patiently grow the blessings of the Lord in your life.
The moment you set your focus on the “success” of the wicked, you turn away from exercising confidence in God. Instead of trusting God’s leadership in your life, you will be doubting how your future is going to be.
The best thing to ever happen to you is to constantly and continuously trust the Lord.
When things seem thought don’t be crying asking, “Why me?”.
Maintain strong faith in the Lord. For in a time of disaster the Lord will watch over those who trust in Him and they will always have more than enough no matter what happens. (Psalm 37:19).
Even when the godly stumble badly they will still survive, because the Lord has a stronger grip on them and lifts them up with his hands. (Verse 24)
When all things consummate, you will realize the wicked and ungodly have nothing to show, yet the Lord’s blessed ones receive it all in the end. (Verse 22)
Why then do you make the success of the wicked your benchmark? The Lord’s delight is that you firmly follow His steps. Your blissful future is determined by how you take God-centered steps. (Verse 23)
In this chapter of Psalm, David gave two examples to prove and establish his points.
I mentioned one yesterday, on how the wicked, prideful domineering tyranny’s life ended; without being remembered. (Verse 36-36).
As a beloved of God, you have a different story! You have a peaceful, prosperous future with a happy ending.
Look at the witness of David:
“I was once young, but now I’m old. Not once have I found a lover of God forsaken by him, nor have any of their children gone hungry. Instead, I’ve found the godly ones to be the generous ones who give freely to others. Their children are blessed and become a blessing.” (Verse 25-26)
As the forgiven beloved ones of God, we are also His righteousness. We have now been brought into God’s presence and made partakers of His eternal fellowship. Therefore we have the ability to live right. There is no fellowship between you and evil.
Don’t give room for evil to germinate in your heart. You are godly.
“The Lord loves it when he sees us walking in his justice.
He will never desert his devoted lovers; they will be kept forever in his faithful care. But the descendants of the wicked will be banished.” (Verse 28)
Further advantages and realities of the godly or lovers of God:
– The faithful lovers of God will inherit the earth and enjoy every promise of God’s care, dwelling in peace forever. (Verse 29)
– God-lovers are also lovers of His word. Therefore their words possess wisdom and are right and trustworthy. These make the best counselors. (Verse 30)
– The ways of God are in their hearts and they won’t swerve from the paths of steadfast righteousness. (Verse 31).
– As a lover of God don’t be impatient for the Lord to act. Keep moving forward steadily in His ways because He will exalt you at the right time. And when He does, you will manifest every promise, including your full inheritance. (Verse 34)
There is no way you must envy the wicked with these benefits.
Why draw back away from the Lord and doubt when the Lord is your Savior?
In your time of trouble, God will live in you as strength. (Verse 39)
Maintain your faith in the Lord for the daily portion of great faith is the Father’s help and deliverance from evil. (Verse 40)
This is true for all who turn to hide themselves in the Lord.
I believe these gleanings from Psalm 37 have established your heart in the certainty of hope in God.
Your future is blessed, remain a blessing.
Selah.

Until we submit to Gods walk with us we will not see that bright future he is taking us to. God always shows man the end from the beginning so that man knows that God is not here to waste anyone’s time and resources. He utilises even the peanut to achieve. Greater results
The wicked have no idea of their end so they still keep up with what they do
They are so ignorant to the extent that they don’t even learn from what past wicked men did and advice themselves that this part leads to destruction
But we who follow God we have an alert who is the Holy Spirit who tells us the way to Go so we don’t skid off our path to greatness
My future is blessed
I follow after God’s plan for my life
I don’t envy the wicked
Like Job said” though he slain me yet will I trust him”
My confidence in the lord grows in the midst of situations cos His word dominates my thoughts
I don’t quite
I FOCUS on the GOAL.
OOOh yes
But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.[Psalms 52:8]
I follow after God’s plan for my life.
