“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:17-19 (KJV).

We have been given the mandate and the message to reconcile many unto God.

It doesn’t matter your profession or social responsibility, you have a kingdom mandate to turn many unto righteousness.

This is the role of the wise in the Kingdom (Proverbs 11:30).

God desires that all men may be saved and come to the knowledge of Christ ( 1 Timothy 2:4).

You are the light of the world, let your light shine; get many saved unto the glory of God.

Are you an eternal shining star in the Kingdom?

How are you involved in turning many unto righteousness?

Step out of your comfort zone and get someone saved today.

    LIVE BY THE DOMINION OF
    RIGHTEOUSNESS IN YOU

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?”

    Romans 6:1 (NKJV)

The question in the opening verse is one of the most asked questions concerning the gospel of the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Most people ask this question because they doubt the power of the gospel.

Some also ask such questions because they think people will take advantage of the goodness of the gospel to sin.

This is it, anyone who decides to use the liberty of the gospel as an occasion to sin did not truly hear the gospel, nor did such a person receive the love of Christ.

The gospel of our Lord Jesus is the revelation of the love of God.

    Sin is influenced by selfishness.

Sin is anything that is not of faith.

“But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.” Romans 14:23 (NKJV)

    And faith works in love.

“For when we place our faith in Christ Jesus, there is no benefit in being circumcised or being uncircumcised. What is important is faith expressing itself in love.” Galatians 5:6 (NLT).

Nowhere did the gospel suggest that we should continue to sin because of the grace of God.

And most people who ask the question, “Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?” seek a reason to accuse the gospel.

However, Paul asked the question rhetorically to bring to his readers the hardcore truth of the gospel.

After explaining the participation of those who are saved in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, he established the reality that as you are saved, you should reckon yourself dead to sin.

You don’t reckon yourself dead to sin because you first lived right. You don’t reckon yourself dead to sin according to your good works.

You reckon yourself dead to sin on the grounds of how Christ died to sin and defeated sin once and for all.

Jesus did not only die FOR you. He also died WITH you.
This is the testimony for all men, that Christ died for them. Therefore, salvation is available for all men.

However, when one comes to believe in Jesus and receives salvation, he or she is identified with Christ.
The testimony of the saved is that his or her old man and nature died with Christ. And now in Christ, he or she is a new creation.

    Now see these two verses:
    2 Corinthians 5:17 and Galatians 2:20.
    2 Corinthians 5:17 (Amplified).

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].”
    See Galatians 2:20 (TPT):

“My old identity has been co-crucified with Messiah and no longer lives; for the nails of his cross crucified me with him. And now the essence of this new life is no longer mine, for the Anointed One lives his life through me— we live in union as one! My new life is empowered by the faith of the Son of God who loves me so much that he gave himself for me, and dispenses his life into mine

So when you got saved, you were united with Christ. And the old man was crucified with Christ on the cross. The old, wretched nature of sin died with Christ.
    Let’s also take a look at Romans 6:5-13;

“For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin”(vv 5-6)

You can see here again that as you were united together in the death of Jesus, your old man, who was the embodiment of sin, was crucified with Christ.

Now, if you are in Christ, you don’t have the nature of sin in your spirit.

You are a new creation, and you share in the likeness of the resurrection of Jesus. You have the new life of Christ. This life is not a slave controlled by sin.

“For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord” (vv 7-11)

Now, from the revelation of scriptures, you understand that Jesus died to sin once and for all and lives unto God forever.

Therefore, because you are identified with Christ in His death, you are also alive to God in Christ once and for all.

When you were made alive in God in Christ, it was not with the nature of sin. The nature of sin was terminated in the death of Jesus. Therefore, you are dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus, with the nature of righteousness.

You did not become alive to yourself and the legalism of Moses.
You were made alive to God in Christ with the nature of righteousness.

It means now you must live according to the dominion of righteousness in you.

You are no longer under the influence of sin, because the power of His resurrection has produced the righteousness of God in Christ in you.

Live every day of your life with the consciousness that you are a new man.

The Son expressed the Father by becoming flesh. God becoming man through Jesus was His manifestation. Godliness is the expression of divinity.

The essence of man is that he will be the expression of life, which is God.

Man is to be the very expression of God.
God has predestined that you will be hewn out of Him, possessing His LIFE.

It is His plan for all.
God made it available for all men to experience adoption of sonship. Yet not all have come into this sonship.

Those who receive Him are brought into sonship.
The saddest thing is not receiving eternal life, and the gladdest thing is to receive eternal life by believing (John 1:11-12).
Whosoever has the son has life. This means the son is the life (1 John 5:11-12)

Beloved, let this settle within you: your participation in sonship is not dependent on your faithfulness. It is dependent on the faithfulness of God.

Not that we first loved him, but that he first loved us [1st John 4:10]. By this, you came into a participation, a fellowship, and equal sharing in Christ.

You don’t have a ‘part share’, you have a full share as son.
Wherefore are we partakers of the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4). You share in all of that which is in God.

Anytime you feel discouraged and it seems the vicissitudes of life kick you about, remember you are a son of God.

Anytime you feel like all hope is lost, remember you have a living hope which is incorruptible. (1 Peter 1:3).

We are not of this world. We are not in agreement with this world.

    ARE YOU HIDING FROM GOD?

“And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.”

    Genesis 3:8 (KJV)

As a born-again in Christ, how do you respond to sin?

Does it make you hide yourself from God?

Does it move you away from the things which are of Christ?

Do you feel discouraged from even praying because of your sins?

Your response to sin will determine whether you will walk out of its influence or remain in its snare.

Usually, when people (or legalistic folks) read a statement like: “God doesn’t want you to hide from him. He loves you and has forgiven you of all your sins.”

What they hear is that “God loves your sins. He sees nothing wrong with your sin.  Keep doing wrongs and He will always forgive you.”

When they read a statement like “Don’t feel God condemns you. You are eternally saved. You have the righteousness of God in Christ. Stop crying and turn to God’s saving grace.”

What the legalistic will hear is, “God entertains your sins. You don’t have to feel any regret for your mistakes or sins.”

They hear what is in their mind rather than what they are reading. They don’t read to learn, they read to criticise. It’s not surprising because these people read their imagination and thoughts into scriptures.

They don’t pay attention to what the scripture says. They don’t read to understand the scriptures, they read their understanding into the scriptures.
They find it difficult to see what God is saying, they only see what they want God to say or how they want God to speak. They read what they feel and not the reality of God.

Beloved, you don’t have to respond to sins or mistakes based on what you feel. The adversary, who is the accuser of the brethren, takes delight in such a state of guilt.

Every genuine believer will have a feeling of sorrow, regret, and discomfort when they slip into a sinful act. This is because of the love of God at work in them. They understand that their sins and erroneous conduct affect the people around them and don’t represent the character of Christ. Hence, the regret and discomfort.

However, having regret and a feeling of guilt shouldn’t move you away from God’s presence.

To hide from God is the way of Adam.

Adam decided to try his own way of being right and hid himself from God.

    You remain a blessing!

This usually happens when you sin or act in error; you become ashamed even to open the scriptures or get into prayer.

You may beat yourself up and sometimes make a promise or vow that you will live right.

This doesn’t mean you have turned to God.

Adam, to cover his nakedness and shame, made a covering from leaves. Leaves?

Without shedding of blood is no remission. (Hebrews 9:22)

No sin can be covered or dealt with by human efforts. Man-made religion teaches righteousness by self-efforts.

But sin and sins are dealt with by blood. This was why Jesus came to die for you. His death dealt with the problem and penalty of sin and became the grounds for the continuous enjoyment of forgiveness.

The emphasis on behaviour or moral conduct doesn’t supply a solution.

There are those who make the excuse that they will spend time to work on themselves, and after they are perfect in their ways, they will get back to God.

     This is a trap!

Such a decision will move you away from enjoying God, and you will never get back on track.

“Distress that drives us to God does that. It turns us around. It gets us back in the way of salvation. We never regret that kind of pain. But those who let distress drive them away from God are full of regrets, end up on a deathbed of regrets.” 2 Corinthians 7:10 (MSG)

You can only turn away from your sins when you turn to God.

You cannot make things right on your own. This is why you don’t have to hide from God. God is your Salvation. Your best solution is in God and is God.

Jesus did not come to die for you when you were perfect. He came to die for all men, even when we were in sin.

Don’t turn from God; call upon Him no matter the situation.

“Call upon Me in the day of distress; I shall rescue you, and you will glorify Me.” Psalm 50:15 (Legacy Standard Bible)

Don’t listen to the voice saying:

“Stay away from God, don’t pray, don’t attend Church meetings. Because you have erred”

Don’t listen to the voice of the Accuser; listen to Jesus!

DON’T ENVY NOR BE INTIMIDATED BY THE WORLD 1

“Don’t follow after the wicked ones or be jealous of their wealth. Don’t think for a moment they’re better off than you.”

    Psalm 37:1 (TPT)

Today we are going to take a look into the Song of Wisdom, Psalm 37 using the Passion Translation.

In this Psalm, David reassures the people of God to continue to trust in the Lord and to refuse every desire or attempt to be like the people of the world.

The success of the world is mostly built on selfishness, greed, ungodliness and dishonor to God. The ungodly doesn’t pursue success to bring glory to God. The ungodly pursue success to satisfy their ambition and selfish desires.

As a child of God, your pursuit in life is to please God. Everything about you must be focused on expressing God’s glory.

You live according to the principles and wisdom of God.

You don’t live for the applause of men but for God to say “well done”. Whatever you do must be consistent with the will of God. When your success is not consistent with the will of God,  it will not be of faith and will not please God.

“And without faith it is impossible to please God…” (Hebrews 11:6)

One of the mistakes most believers make is to compare their lives with others. And sadly, these people compare their lives with the people of the world. What they fail to remember is that the child of God and those of the world live by different sets of rules.

You don’t have any business comparing your life with the world or the ungodly. God knows the plans He has for you (Jeremiah 29:11).

Your work is to fix your gaze on the Lord.

“Gaze upon him, join your life with his, and joy will come. Your faces will glisten with glory. You’ll never wear that shame-face again.” Psalm 34:5 (TPT)

There is no way you will wholeheartedly trust in the Lord and be put to shame. When you fix your gaze on the Lord you will not even be intimidated by the world or the ungodly.

The ungodly will use ungodly means to attain success. The scripture says such successes are short-lived; they will shrivel up and fade away quickly.

David, outlined a few wisdom keys to help you manifest God-centered success. We will look into the things he mentioned from verses 3 to 11 of Psalm 34 (The Passion Translation).

    – (Verse 3a) Keep trusting in the Lord and do what is right in His eyes.

To do what is right before the Lord is to follow and act out the instructions of the word. This is not difficult because you have been made the righteousness of God in  Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:21). You don’t do what is right to become righteous. Because you are righteous you have the ability of God in you to do what is right.

    – (Verse 3b) Fix your heart on the promises of God and you will be secure, feasting on his faithfulness.

This is a great key that establishes you to live confidently. The reality is this, “God is not a man that He should lie…” (Numbers 23:19). Whatever God says is the truth. To fix your heart on His promises is to set your spirit, mind, will and emotions on the word of God. This saturates your heart with the goodness of the Lord. It means you don’t leave any space for other thoughts to occupy.

The moment you move your heart away from what God has said, you give room for doubt and faithlessness. Fix your heart on the Lord’s promises, for He is faithful.
    – (Verse 4) Make God the utmost delight and pleasure of your life, and he will provide for you what you desire the most.

You know David wasn’t the only one that gave such a secret, our Lord Jesus also shared this same wisdom with His disciples.

“So then, forsake your worries! Why would you say, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ For that is what the unbelievers chase after. Doesn’t your heavenly Father already know the things your bodies require? “So above all, constantly chase after the realm of God’s kingdom and the righteousness that proceeds from him. Then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly. Matthew 6:31-33 (TPT).

This is the difference between the ungodly and the child of God. They first seek after things, but for the child of God, you have to make God your priority.

    What has consumed your heart?

What has taken the central stage of your thoughts?

That which becomes the delight, pleasure and pursuit of your heart rules or dominates your life.
It is not possible for you to truthfully and sincerely walk with the Lord and be forsaken by the Lord.
As you walk with Him and demonstrate confidence in Him, He becomes your supply and provider.

    – (Verse 5) Give God the right to direct your life, and as you trust him along the way you’ll find he pulled it off perfectly!

This is wisdom! Get this, it is one thing to trust the Lord with your plans and another thing to give the Lord the right to direct you. Sometimes people assume God is sovereign and He does what He wants.

That is not how God has set up His sovereignty in your life. He has given you a will. This gives you the legal right to rule your life. The reason is that God has made you to have dominion. How do you dominate the world, when you don’t have the right to rule yourself?
So God doesn’t automatically interfere in your affairs. Until you submit your life to Him, He doesn’t force His rule in your life (though He can).
People plan and ask God to help them execute it. That is not giving God the right to direct you. To give God the right to direct you is to seek after His plans for you and then you follow with all your heart.

He is the master strategist. He knows your future and made you with an intention. When you trust Him and allow Him to direct you, He will perfectly bring you into a dimension of greatness beyond your wildest imagination.

Take these wisdom keys and run with them.

    Selah.

THE BREASTPLATE OF LOVE AND FAITH –

The Complete Armor Of God 14

“But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.”

    1 Thessalonians 5:8 (NKJV)

The adversary is busily seeking for whom he will devour with his arrows of condemnation, fear and doubt.

The adversary is not a lion, he goes about as a roaring lion. He is toothless and powerless. All he has is his deceptive gear.

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” (1 Peter 5:8)

As believers, we are daily in a spiritual warfare. This warfare is not physical and the weapons of engagement are spiritual.

However, you don’t have to be scared.

Things about warfare shouldn’t put fear in you. They are to bring you to the realization or recognition of things going on in the unseen realm.

The issue is, what do you think amidst this warfare?

Do you think you are alone?

This is what the Lord is saying to you:

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

    Oh glory to God.

In the context of 1 Thessalonians 5:1- 11, Paul the apostle was dealing with the posture we should have concerning the times and seasons.

For example, the Church instead of becoming hopeful and joyful about the appearing of the Lord, lived scared of that day.

He explained that the believers are not in darkness but in the light, therefore the day will not be to their disadvantage (1 Thessalonians 5:4-5). As part of his admonishment, Paul the apostle instructed the Church saying:

“But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.” (1 Thessalonians 5:8)

To be sober is to be well-balanced, always alert and clear-headed. And in that state of mind, we must put on the breastplate of love and faith, the hope of salvation as a helmet.

Get this, the only reason the born again has to be afraid of the appearing or “second coming” of Jesus is when he or she has a sense of guilt and feels condemned.

This is why you need the breastplate of righteousness and helmet of salvation.

I have explained previously that, the breastplate of Love and Faith is the same as the breastplate of righteousness.

The breastplate is to guard your thoughts, your mind and your heart from the arrows of fear of condemnation.

Beloved, rejoice! For you are the righteousness of God in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21). You shall not be condemned at the appearing of Jesus.

Put on the breastplate of righteousness and helmet of Salvation now. So that when thoughts of how you will be “left behind” and not qualify to be in Heaven, attempt to pierce your heart and crush your head,  you remain heavily defended, impenetrable and immovable.

    Hallelujah!

    WE PRAY
We pray that we shall not be swayed off by any doctrine of fear concerning the rapture and the end times but shall continuously remain sober, as we put on the breastplate of love and faith.

BIBLE READING IN THE YEAR 2024
