HELMET OF SALVATION 3
“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God”
Ephesians 6:17 (KJV)
Previously, I mentioned two functions of the helmet to a Roman soldier:
1. Identification
2. Protection of the head.
I went on further to explain how the helmet of salvation is a protective gear.
To put on the helmet of salvation is to live in the conviction, consciousness and confidence of the salvation which you have received in Christ.
Legionaries and centurions usually wore helmets (typically called galea) and these were topped with cristas or crests (made of horsehair which were sometimes dyed red).
The patent model of their helmets made identification of these soldiers during a battle easy.
The identification indicates whose side you belong to.
The helmet of salvation is also your identification of whose you are.
The only reason you are a soldier of Christ is that you are saved.
If you are saved you are Christ’s.
Through faith in Christ Jesus, you are saved by grace (Ephesians 2:8).
To be saved by grace, through faith in Christ, is not merely to escape hell or damnation. To be saved is essentially to be born of God, which means you become a child of God.
“For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you” Galatians 3:26-29 (NLT)
Your identity now is that you are a child of God.
And that is one of the works of the Holy Spirit in your heart. He is in you to bear witness and to testify with your spirit that you are God’s child. (Romans 8:16).
Your identity as a child of God is the reality of your testimony that you have overcome the world.
“Every God-born person conquers the world’s ways. The conquering power that brings the world to its knees is our faith. The person who wins out over the world’s ways is simply the one who believes Jesus is the Son of God.” 1 John 5:4-5 (The Message).
Do you now see why the adversary is after your conviction and consciousness of the Salvation you have received in Christ?
He wants you to doubt your identity.
Your identity as a child of God is his threat.
He has always been after your identity. You cannot be a slave to the devil and his worldly systems when you are fully conscious of your identity in Christ through salvation.
Put on the helmet of salvation and walk in the confidence of who you are in Christ Jesus.

The helmet of salvation as an armor of God gives you an identity .
Haa! And that identify is that, as a soldier, you are part of the army of the Living God.

The helmet of salvation gives us :
1. An identification code.
This identification code is that you are on the Lord’s side and you belong to God.
2. An identity
Meaning that you are now a child of God.
I am on the Lord’s side!
I am born of God and the helmet of salvation is my identity as Christs soldier

This scripture really resonates life in my spirit- 1 JOHN 5:4-5 (MSB) “Every God-begotten person conquers the world’s ways. The conquering power that brings the world to its knees is our faith. The person who wins out over the world’s ways is simply the one who believes Jesus is the Son of God.”
I am a conquerer
I walk in the consciousness and conviction of my salvation daily.
This is the real helmet that identifies and protects me as a child of God.

I walk daily in the consciousness, conviction and confidence of the salvation which I have received in Christ.

This is the true Gospel wherewith we need to be highly conscious and confidence in. I walk in the consciousness of my unique identity in the Lord

Whoo! The Holy Spirit is inside me to witness and to testify that I’m a child of God.

I walk in the confidence of who I am in Christ!
I walk daily in the consciousness, conviction and confidence of the salvation which I have received in Christ.
I AM AN OVERCOMER!

I AM ON THE LORD’S SIDE!
My identity is sealed in Christ. I am a Zionite , a proud citizen who brings men to this reality. The adversary cannot take this truth from me, I rejoice in this truth.
This conscious is my daily consciousness. Hallelujah
HEY! I KNOW WHO I AM.
Who you identify as is really important because it becomes the foundation on which your life and environment operates from. The adversary’s biggest threat is the knowledge of my sonship in Christ. Now I know I have to intentionally remind myself daily of my salvation in Christ Jesus.
I AM I CHILD OF GOD!
GLORY TO GOD.
I walk in the consciousness of my identity in Christ.
I am a threat to the adversary.
I walk in the consciousness of the reality of my testimony.
I am child of God and I have overcome the world.
When the word of truth is not rightly divided, it put men in bondage instead of liberating them. Because many still doubt their salvation in Christ, they are enslaved by the schemes of the adversary, and their relationship with God is disrupted.
But not us. We put the helmet of salvation even as we walk in the consciousness of our salvation in Christ.
