THE CASE IS CLOSED
“So now the case is closed. There remains no accusing voice of condemnation against those who are joined in life-union with Jesus, the Anointed One”
Romans 8:1 (TPT)
I suppose you have heard of Judgement Day and you are looking forward to it right?
And you may be asking yourself “What will be my fate on that day”?
You may be asking yourself, “Will I be condemned to eternal damnation or be declared not guilty?”
Considering your wrongs, you may currently be thinking you don’t have a chance when you stand before the supreme judge.
Maybe you imagine yourself standing in the accused box in a courtroom in Heaven. You hear the thundering voice of an Archangel, “COURT RISE!”.
Suddenly your heart quake and your feet tremble. You fall to the ground in shock, and then the Supreme being, God, the Judge, clothed in an unapproachable light, takes His giant seat.
You try to look around, and here is the devil, the accuser of the brethren. He is looking so shameless and confident. He has in his hands a huge – long document bearing your name and your wrongs.
You begin to feel that your eternal damnation is here.
PAUSE!
STOP WASTING THE POWER OF YOUR IMAGINATION!
None of these will happen. They are imaginations built on old deceptive tales.
Is there any Judgement day arranged by God to announce your condemnation or justification?
Yes.
But it is not in the future; it was in the past!
The judgement day which awaits you as a believer in Christ is not about condemnation or justification. The judgement day for those in Christ is a day of rewards for the labour of faith. (We will discuss this more later).
When you came into Christ, the case against you has been closed forever. The adversary or accuser has no case against you. He has no voice and nothing to say against you. There is no condemnation against the man in Christ. (Romans 8:1).
How?
The answer is here:
“and blotted out the charges proved against you, the list of his commandments which you had not obeyed. He took this list of sins and destroyed it by nailing it to Christ’s cross. In this way God took away Satan’s power to accuse you of sin, and God openly displayed to the whole world Christ’s triumph at the cross where your sins were all taken away” Colossians 2:14-15 (TLB).
The adversary has no case against you.
All of his evidence against you was erased, deleted and destroyed on the cross. They cannot be retrieved.
To even take it further, understand that, the punishment of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
And this is the good news, the bloody death of Jesus on the cross did not only take away sin; His death was the punishment of sin.
This means our Lord did not only blot out the accusations against you; in Christ, your sins have fully or completely been paid.
“He gave himself as ransom-payment for everyone…” 1 Timothy 2:6 (TPT).
Now there is no evidence of sin against you. And if there could have still been any evidence, the death of Jesus is the punishment of sin for you.
Therefore at the eternal courtroom, the judgement has already been made; you were declared not guilty. You are eternally free and sin has no dominion over you.
When you are established in this certainty you serve the Lord in confidence.
Praise the Lord.

– We pray thanking the Lord for His grace by which we are eternally declared not guilty.
– We thank the Lord for building our confidence through the consciousness of our justification
– I am justified by faith
