LIVE UNTO HIS GLORY 1
– JESUS LIVED UNTO GOD’S GLORY
“Whether you eat or drink, live your life in a way that glorifies and honors God.“
1 Corinthians 10:31 (TPT)
I am not sure you can count the number of times you have sang and said to God, “I glorify your name”.
How do you truly understand that phrase?
How is it important to God, for Him to be glorified?
God esteems His glory; He does all things unto His glory.
For God to do things unto His own glory is for Him to make everyone and everything know who He is, to acknowledge His Power and His name.
We have been given this calling by God to glorify Him.
All through the Life of Jesus in His earth walk, He lived to honor or glorify the Father.
Interestingly, Jesus as the GOD-MAN did not live for His glory. His life pursuit was that the glory of God will be fully revealed in Him.
What else is the ultimate goal of all the works of God?
The end of all things is that God will be glorified.
Right from the birth of Jesus, God was glorified:
“Then all at once, a vast number of glorious angels appeared, the very armies of heaven! And they all praised God, singing: “Glory to God in the highest realms of heaven! For there is peace and a good hope given to the sons of men.” Luke 2:13-14 (TPT).
Jesus made it clear in His earth walk, that He seeks not His own glory. (John 8:50).
He said, “Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God” John 8:54 (ESV).
Though by His teachings and miracles, His fame spread abroad, He did all the things He did unto the glory of God. Even when people were suffering with infirmity, He knew by their healing the glory of God will be seen. It was when God is glorified that His glory was seen. (John 11:4).
The death of Jesus was for the glory of God:
“Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.
Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again“ John 12:27-28 (KJV)
Is that not what the Prophet Isaiah prophesied:
“Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill made low; the uneven ground will become smooth, and the rugged land a plain. And the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all humanity together will see it. For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.” Isaiah 40:4-5 (Berean Standard Bible)
To glorify God is to honor, laud and celebrate or acknowledge the greatness of His might and majestic splendor of His person and His works.
We glorify God by reflecting on His person, excellence and power; just as Jesus showed us.
Everything you do must be unto the glory of God.
It was not just in songs and words that Jesus glorified and honored the Lord. Jesus did all things to bring glory to God.
Is your life bringing glory and honor to God?

WE PRAY
That we shall not seek our own glory but that our lives shall be unto God’s glory just as Jesus lived.
