DON’T MAKE POVERTY A GUEST

” …Just this: You can look forward to a dirt-poor life, poverty your permanent houseguest!” Proverbs 6:11 (MSG)

Are you wondering why people with great potentials and opportunities live poor?
Do you know why people don’t achieve great things?
There are people who start out life with great ideas and inspirations but never see their day light.
Mostly:
THEY ARE LAZY!
THEY MAKE EXCUSES!

” A slacker always has an excuse for not working—like “I can’t go to work. There’s a lion outside! And murderers too!” Proverbs 22:13 (TPT)

A fellow who makes excuses from working will not be counted among the greats in his or her sphere of assignment.
Giving an excuse that you are living poor because of your calling is a shame to the Lord who called you.
Whatever the Lord has called you to do and wherever He has called you to be, you can prosper.
What you should understand is, you were not designed by God to be poor. Therefore when you see yourself living poor, then you have consistently chosen to be poor.
Take note: I understand the times and season of sowing and harvest. I understand there is a season you will enjoy your harvest of prosperity and greatness. And during the seed time of your living it may look like you don’t have abundance.
The concept of poverty and prosperity transcends what you have accumulated.
From the previous discussion, I explained that poverty is a mindset problem. And this mindset translates into habit or routine.
Though you are blessed of the Lord and have been supplied with all that you need for your greatness, you can live poor by making poverty your permanent house guest.
And the scriptures give clarity on this matter.
See Proverbs 6:9-11 (The Voice):

” How long do you plan to lounge your life away, you lazy fool? Will you ever get out of bed? You say, “A little sleep, a little rest, a few more minutes, a nice little nap.” But soon poverty will be on top of you like a robber; need will assault you like a well-armed warrior.”

I believe you can relate with this, right?
You sleep intermittently during the day, after you have slept for 10 hours at night, and also use more than 5 hours surfing or “procrastiscrolling” your phone.
And you expect to manifest greatness?
Did you notice the scriptures, called such person “Lazy fool”?
You can sprawl or slouch your beautiful-great life away. The time to prepare and invest value, you sleep and waste it. This means the outcome of your life is your choice.
Instead of work, you decide to take a little nap?
Precious one, you are inviting poverty as your permanent room mate. And when it comes, it attacks and assaults you like an armed robber or bandit. It breaks you and weakens you completely.
See how the Message Translation puts it:

” So how long are you going to laze around doing nothing? How long before you get out of bed? A nap here, a nap there, a day off here, a day off there, sit back, take it easy—do you know what comes next? Just this: You can look forward to a dirt-poor life, poverty your permanent houseguest!

You have heard much about the great things you are going to do for the Lord and in your generation. You have seen how your life will be full of blessings and nations will respond to your greatness. You have been told prophetically, that you will bring transformation to your nation.
However, being lazy and spending time sleeping will not make it happen.
Are you working in the ministry full-time?
Are you working in the ministry and doing business?
Are you a missionary?
Have you been given an assignment by the Lord?
Have you been inspired to run a company?
Have you been told you are going to feed the nations?
Are you desiring to be the greatest fashion designer?
Are you looking forward to be named among the greats in I.T etc?
Wherever the Lord has placed you and whatever the Lord has said concerning your life shall come to pass, BUT NOT WHEN YOU ARE LAZY!
Isaac received a word from the Lord when there was famine in the land he was:

” Then the Lord appeared to him and said: “Do not go down to Egypt; live in the land of which I shall tell you. Dwell in this land, and I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your descendants I give all these lands, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father.” Genesis 26:2-3 (NKJV).

This is a beautiful word of the Lord. Hallelujah!
Now, did this word of the Lord automatically happen?
See from the verse 12:
” Then Isaac sowed in that land…”

Did you see that?
Isaac didn’t go to sleep. Anyone who has done farming will know, how much diligence it required to succeed at it.
When he got to know the land God wants him to dwell, he got into business. He began to work.
Which field has God called you to?
Get to work!
Now look at what happened:
” …and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him. The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous”
Oh glory to God!

Until you become discipline, diligent, effective and efficient you cannot see the expression of God’s blessing in what you do.
Get this:
The lazy is not a doer of the Word. Why?
The Word of the Lord frowns at laziness. When you are lazy you cannot even make time to read or study the word, how much more meditation. A lazy person cannot continue in the Word. So how can the word of God even be effective in your life?
You want to have enviable success? You don’t want poverty to even think or identify the door to your house?
REFUSE TO BE LAZY!
