MAINTAIN AN ABSOLUTE CONFIDENCE IN GOD
” Jesus looked at her and said, “Didn’t I tell you that if you will believe in me, you will see God unveil his power?” John 11:40 (TPT).
There is a reason the Lord keep reminding you of things pertaining to your faith walk with Him.
Anytime the Lord bring admonishments your way, He is establishing a certain consciousness in you.
If you have been reading Machaira with Apostle Bennie, you must know that your time of harvest is here.
When the children of Israel were in slavery, the only message they needed was “DELIVERANCE”. But that wasn’t the message they needed when they were entering the promise land. At that point they needed to be Conscious of the presence of the Lord and be strong and courageous. And that was the message the Lord was administering to Joshua.
Whenever the adversary sees you stepping into greater heights, he attempts to weaken your confidence in God.
Understand that God doesn’t bring challenges your way to prove your faith. God only inspires you to do great things. The adversary uses challenges or negative situations to distract or stop you from doing the things God wants you to do.
This is why you must maintain absolute confidence in God. No challenge should be big enough to move you away from God. No challenge should be big enough to make you doubt God. Hold on strongly to what God have said.
In the story of Jesus raising Lazarus from dead, you will see two instances of faith.
Remember faith is your response to God’s Word.
We are going to look at how two sisters (Martha and Mary) responded to Jesus.
One day Lazarus (a brother of Martha and Mary, and a loving friend to Jesus) became very sick to the point of death. “So his sisters sent a message to Jesus, “Lord, our brother Lazarus, the one you love, is very sick. Please come!”
When He (Jesus) heard this, he said, “ This sickness will not end in death for Lazarus, but will bring glory and praise to God. This will reveal the greatness of the Son of God by what takes place.” (See John 11:3-4)
This was the foundational word which got Lazarus raised from the dead.
Jesus said this sickness is not unto death but unto the glory and praise of God.
Again, it doesn’t mean God afflicts people with sickness and diseases to show His glory, but rather, when the adversary strikes people with any infirmities, because of God’s healing power, many sees God’s glory and give praise to Him.
Now Mary and Martha were to hold on to that message and allow it to define their composure.
Nevertheless, Martha for example argued and doubted the decision of Jesus to roll away Lazarus’ tomb.
Look at this, John 11:38-40 (TPT):
” Then Jesus, with intense emotions, came to the tomb—a cave with a stone placed over its entrance. Jesus told them, “Roll away the stone.”
Then Martha said, “But Lord, it’s been four days since he died—by now his body is already decomposing!”
Jesus looked at her and said, “Didn’t I tell you that if you will believe in me, you will see God unveil his power?”
I believe Jesus had to look at her with astonishment, because prior to this time He had said a lot to Martha and Mary about He being the resurrection and the life.
Martha was not holding on to the Words of Jesus. Until you hold on to Word of God, you will not demonstrate absolute confidence in God.
“So they rolled away the heavy stone. Jesus gazed into heaven and said, “Father, thank you that you have heard my prayer, for you listen to every word I speak. Now, so that these who stand here with me will believe that you have sent me to the earth as your messenger, I will use the power you have given me.” Then with a loud voice Jesus shouted with authority: “Lazarus! Come out of the tomb!”
Then in front of everyone, Lazarus, who had died four days earlier, slowly hobbled out—he still had grave clothes tightly wrapped around his hands and feet and covering his face! Jesus said to them, “Unwrap him and let him loose.” From that day forward many of those who had come to visit Mary believed in him, for they had seen with their own eyes this amazing miracle! John 11:41-45 (TPT).
Oh hallelujah.
Beloved, the word of the Lord is true and absolute. Don’t look at the challenges to doubt God. Make the Word of the Lord your focus and you will see the manifestation of His glory.
Shalom
