THE WORD OF GOD
” In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1 (NKJV)
There is nothing which is of God, that first didn’t happen by the Word.
The Word of God is the immaterial material by which all things were made.
One may ask,
1. How old is the Word of God?
2. Is the Bible the Word of God?
3. Why do we talk about the Word of God as though it’s a person?
4. What are the Characteristics of the Word?
5. What is the efficacy of the Word of God?
Let me start with question 2:
Understand that there is no question related to the FAITH in Christ, which is answered with YES or NO without first providing detailed explanations.
Every question must be answered with a TEACHING.
An outright YES or NO is not enough answer to questions pertaining to the Faith.
Truth always has an evidence.
Join the Crystallization Confluence this MAY.
Through the CRYSTALLIZATION CONFLUENCE (which is the Special ONLINE MINISTRY SCHOOL this May/June), we will be having an exhaustive teaching on the BIBLE and THE CANONIZATION OF THE NEW TESTAMENT.
NB: Your participation in such class is crucial for the strengthening of your Faith. Make it priority to be a part of it.
Questions 4 and 5 will be answered in the subsequent episodes of Machaira.
ANSWERING QUESTION 1 AND 3
The opening verse addresses these two questions:
” In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1
From this verse we see the IDENTITY and the IMMEASURABLE ANTIQUITY OF THE WORD.
The beginning referred here is not the beginning of time, but before the beginning of time.
It is the beginnings in the eternal past before time began.
Lets look at it in the Amplified Bible:
” In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.” John 1:1
The Word of God did not come into existence when the books of the Bible were written.
The Word of God preexisted before the conception of time.
This will make sense when you understand that, the Word of God is God.
The identity of the Word is God Himself.
Why?
The Word of God is the Living Thought, Living Motive or Intention and the Living expression of God.
(Anything which is in God and of God is Living. If it is of God then it will exude LIFE.)
The Greek word used in John 1:1 for “WORD” is Logos.
It denotes the expression of thoughts, not a mere name of an object. Logos embodies conception or idea, saying or statement. (See Vine’s Expository Dictionary).
A man’s personality is his thoughts. A man is inseparable from his word.
John 1:1, substantiates this truth concerning God.
The Word of God is God. Before there was existence, God preexisted.
In God’s preexistence His WORD was with Him. Before all things He was with His Word and His Word was Him.
In all eternity, the effect of His Word was seen only when He speaks. Yet the hosts of the Heavens could not see the PERSON of His Word.
The prophets received the prophetic words of God (which are manifold glimpses of God’s expression), yet they could not behold His person.
The Person of the Word of God was seen when the WORD took on the form of man.
” And the Word (Christ) became flesh, and lived among us; and we [actually] saw His glory, glory as belongs to the [One and] only begotten Son of the Father, [the Son who is truly unique, the only One of His kind, who is] full of grace and truth (absolutely free of deception)” John 1:14 (AMPLIFIED).
Jesus Christ, is the Word of God made flesh.
He is the Person of the Word.
When He became flesh, we saw the explanation and the revelation of God.
God’s full revelation was seen when HIS LIVING WORD took on flesh.
See John 1:18:
” No one has seen God [His essence, His divine nature] at any time; the [One and] only begotten God [that is, the unique Son] who is in the intimate presence of the Father, He has explained Him [and interpreted and revealed the awesome wonder of the Father].”
When time consummates (remember time is a spot conceptualized in eternity, and will come to an end or mature), there will only be ETERNITY; in this ETERNITY we shall see Him even more clearly as the WORD OF GOD.
“Then I saw heaven opened, and suddenly a white horse appeared. The name of the one riding it was Faithful and True, and with pure righteousness he judges and rides to battle. He wore many regal crowns, and his eyes were flashing like flames of fire. He had a secret name inscribed on him that’s known only to himself. He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his title is called the Word of God” Revelation 19:11-13 (TPT)
OH GLORY TO GOD!
This now makes sense why Christ is the CENTRICITY OF THE SCRIPTURES.
He is the absolute substance of the WORD OF GOD. There is no WORD of God without JESUS.
Hallelujah
SHALOM!
DIG DEEPER:
(1 John 1:1; John 1:1-18; 1 John 5:20; John 17:5)
WE PRAY
That we will continually behold Jesus in the scriptures as we increase in the understanding of the full revelation of Christ.
BIBLE READING
Day 95: 1 Samuel 27-28
*DECLARE THESE WORDS:*
– My life finds it full expression in the understanding of the reality of Christ.
– I was born by the word, thereby I live by the word. – I have received the fullness of God.
– I exude life to all things.
– In everything I do, I prosper because I’m full of life.
OH Hallelujah, GLORY TO GOD!!!
