    DELIGHT IN HIM

“Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him”
    John 14:23 (NKJV)

From John chapter 13 to chapter 17, Jesus’ last conversation with His disciples before His arrest.

The things He shared with them were deep heartfelt thoughts.
These conversations and teachings of Jesus were so crucial because they were full of rich realities which would sustain them and usher them into a deeper walk with Him.
Our walk with Jesus is a walk of intimacy.
When Jesus said, “If you love me you will keep my commandments” (John 14:16)

He wasn’t placing an exhaustive burdensome demand on us.

He was sharing how those who love Him will respond to Him. Period!

And take note: Those who love Him, are those who are loved by Him.

Keeping His commandments is not what brings you into His love.

Instead, because you love Him, you keep His commandments.

That is why I shared with you previously that, to keep the commandment of Jesus is a product or result of His love in you.

And again, your love for Jesus is not as unconditional as His love for you; because His love is the condition of your love.
Your love for Jesus is programmed by His love.
Jesus has no imperfections. He has no weakness, He has no sin and makes no mistakes. He is the meaning of excellence and beauty. When you behold Him, you see the true meaning of holiness, perfection, love, power, honor and glory.

You will only love Him and enjoy Him as you behold Him.

When you see Him, you will only see His love for you and all men.

You will not see burdensome rules and regulations. You will see His outstretched arm of love.

When John the Baptist saw Jesus, He beheld the greatest act of love in the universe.
He said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”

“…God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” Romans 5:8 (NKJV)

    Oh glory to God!
Jesus’ death is the demonstration of God’s greatest love. (See also John 3:16).
So how do you love Jesus?

Now get this, you keep (do or obey) His words or commandments, by delighting in Him.

The scriptures reveal that the Father loves the Son (John 3:35)

Now look at how the Father explains His love for the Son:

Two times in the scriptures (both at the baptism of Jesus and His Transfiguration experience), we see the Father revealing how He loves His Son:

“And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “ You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.” Luke 3:22 (NKJV)

“While Peter was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said, ” This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to Him!” Matthew 17:5
This is the way to love the Son; He is so perfect you only delight or be pleased in Him.
Beloved, as you delight and enjoy the Lord Jesus, His words will only be a treasure of life and hope for your living.

    GOD’S LOVE NEVER FAILS

    AND NEVER RUNS OUT 2

“Praise the Lord! He is good. God’s love never fails. Praise the God of all gods. God’s love never fails. Praise the Lord of lords. God’s love never fails.”

    Psalm 136:1-3 (CEV)

You cannot live insecure when you understand God’s love for you.

Everything God has done for you is first according to his love. His love is unconditional, it is not dependent on what you do. Your faith only helps you position yourself to enjoy the unlimited flow of His love.

This is it, no matter how you are loved, you must receive that love to experience its full manifestation.

No matter how God loves you unconditionally, His love wouldn’t have great transformational impact on you when you don’t receive it.

God’s lovingkindness enforces the wielding of His power. Just as I mentioned yesterday, Jehoshaphat went to war with the army of Judah, led by the musicians. And all they kept declaring through singing was that “His love endures forever!”.

No storm, no limitation, and no evil can withstand the love of God. And that is the light Psalm 136 brings to us.

The chapter outlines some examples of things we enjoy because of His love. The Psalmist used God’s dealings with Israel as the case study.

“Praise the Lord! He is good.
    God’s love never fails.
Praise the God of all gods.
    God’s love never fails.
    Praise the Lord of lords.
    God’s love never fails.”

Verses 1-3 provides description of who God is, His authority and the Supremacy of his love above all other gods and lords.

These verses are to establish the incomparable status of God and the lifeless gods. As His love never fails and endures forever, the gods have no capacity to love at all.

Which means it makes zero sense to be of God and still have confidence in other gods.

From the subsequent verses ( 4 — 26) we see the mighty workings of His love.

“Only God works great miracles. God’s love never fails.” (verse 4)

Did you notice the first two words in this verse? ONLY GOD…

You cannot find mighty or great miracles else where. It is ONLY God who does great miracles. And it is according to His steadfast love which cannot fail.

Now the Psalmist zooms in on the detailed examples of God’s creative or mighty workings. Psalm 136 reveals that God’s creative work was not only by His wisdom. It was by the partnership of His wisdom and unfailing love.

The goal is for you to see that, God’s steadfast and unfailing love cannot be separated. All of  God’s essential qualities find expression through His love.

“With wisdom He made the sky.
God’s love never fails. The Lord stretched the earth
over the ocean. God’s love never fails. He made the bright lights in the sky. God’s love never fails. He lets the sun rule each day. God’s love never fails. He lets the moon and the stars rule each night. God’s love never fails.”
     (Verses 5 – 9)

No other god has the capacity to function in the wisdom which God exudes in His creation. God’s steadfast and unfailing love is in the center of His creative power.

The steadfast love of God doesn’t only partner with God’s wisdom to demonstrate His creative power. The steadfast love of God also partners with God’s power to preserve, protect or defend His people (those who receive His love).

    See the verses 10 – 24:

    “God struck down the first-born
in every Egyptian family. God’s love never fails. He rescued Israel from Egypt. God’s love never fails. God used his great strength and his powerful arm.
God’s love never fails. He split the Red Sea[b] apart. God’s love never fails. The Lord brought Israel safely through the sea.
God’s love never fails. He destroyed the Egyptian king
and his army there. God’s love never fails. The Lord led his people through the desert. God’s love never fails. Our God defeated mighty kings. God’s love never fails. And he killed famous kings. God’s love never fails. One of them was Sihon,
king of the Amorites. God’s love never fails. Another was King Og of Bashan. God’s love never fails. God took away their land. God’s love never fails. He gave their land to Israel, the people who serve him. God’s love never fails. God saw the trouble we were in. God’s love never fails. He rescued us from our enemies. God’s love never fails.”

There are some who assume God’s love is defenseless. That is never true. God can go any extent by His righteousness to preserve His people against wickedness.

“He gives food to all who live.
     God’s love never fails.”
    (Verse 25)

God’s unfailing and steadfast love partners with God’s wisdom to create. It partners with God’s power to preserve, protect and also to provide.

“Praise God in heaven! God’s love never fails.” (Verse 26).

When you acknowledge and focus on God’s unfailing and steadfast love of God, your heart will be full of praise. His unconditional love remains steadfast on earth, in heaven and in all eternity.

God’s steadfast and unfailing love is proclaimed twenty-six (26) times in Psalm 136.

The consistent repetition of “God’s love never fails”, works the truth deeply into our hearts and makes it our conviction, consciousness and confidence.

When you make the testimony of God’s steadfast love your meditation, it will always echo in your heart when there is a storm or any form of uproar or challenge around your life.

Beloved let this be woven in your heart that in all things at all times, GOD’S LOVE NEVER FAILS!

He satisfies you with His love each morning.

    GOD’S LOVE NEVER FAILS

    AND NEVER RUNS OUT 1

“Praise the Lord! He is good. God’s love never fails. Praise the God of all gods. God’s love never fails. Praise the Lord of lords. God’s love never fails.”

    Psalm 136:1-3 (CEV)

The immeasurable and unending flow of God’s grace supplied to you is intrinsically by His lovingkindness.

The lovingkindness of the Lord is what was referred to as the mercies of God in the Old Testament portion of the Bible.

God’s mercies never run out. His love never runs out.

Psalm 136 is one of the most special Psalms. It is believed to have been written by David the King. After the Ark of the Covenant was brought back to Jerusalem, the King appointed worship leaders to lead the congregation in praise. They sang this Psalm, for The Lord’s never ending love (1 Chronicles 16:41).

King Solomon also sang the Psalm when the temple was dedicated (2 Chronicles 7:3). The same with Jehoshaphat the King of Judah, he made the musicians lead the soldiers, as they were going to war. And they kept singing this Psalm:

“Give thanks to the LORD, for his love endures forever.” (2 Chronicles 20:21).

There is something about setting your heart on the lovingkindness of the Lord and knowing that His love is everlasting.

You will not envy, and you will not feel disappointed because the knowledge of His unfailing love, will make you exercise absolute trust in Him.

Moses knew the love of God. He knew that God’s lovingkindness will never allow His people to be drowned. This is the secret to having a strong faith or complete trust in the Lord.

When God said to him, “Moses, tell the people to move forward”, He trusted the word of the Lord because God’s love never fails.

There is nothing powerful enough to quench the love of God.

You cannot spend off His love for you. There is much more of God’s love for you that it cannot go bankrupt.

Look at what God has said, concerning His love for His people:

“Long ago the LORD said to Israel: “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.” Jeremiah  31:3 (NLT).

God has never changed. He has loved you with great love. It is by His love you got saved. By this same love, He shall forever keep you from falling. Only trust in His love for you.

Read Jeremiah 31:3 from the Message Translation:

“God told them, “I’ve never quit loving you and never will. Expect love, love, and more love!”

    Oh, glory!

    Do you know something?

You cannot exhaust God’s love for you.

You can expect more and more of His love for you.

Let this be your meditation today.

    God loves me more!

Be like King Jehoshaphat, go to war with confidence in God’s unfailing love. Don’t doubt His love for you.

Take those steps the Lord is asking you to take. Trust His love for you.

You can commit your future to God because His lovingkindness endures forever!

You can trust the Lord daily because His lovingkindness endures forever.

    Hallelujah!

EPISODE 527 – GOD IS UNFAILING

    CHRIST COMMONWEALTH-COMMUNITY

    GOD IS UNFAILING

“I cried out, “I am slipping!” but your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me.”

    Psalm 94:18 (NLT)

In ancient times, men trusted in the strong walls they built as a defence to their cities.

Their walls remain strong until an enemy troop breach the defences of the cities.

In our days, many have built different defence systems around their lives. One thing which must be clear to you is that, there is no defence system built outside God that is eternally sustainable.

Anything which issues out of God is everlasting (Ecclesiastes 3:14), it does not expire.

God’s Word endures forever (Isaiah 40:6-8). His faithfulness endures through all the ages (Psalm 119:90). And His love never fails.

God’s relationship with you is not built on the condition of your love or goodness. God’s relationship with you is built on His unconditional love.

You have access to God in Christ through His saving grace which was worked into you by the unfailing love of God.

“This is real love—not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.” 1 John 4:10 (NLT)

The love of God cannot be breached or crushed. There is nothing in all of the universe potent enough to make God’s love for you fail.

There are many who find it difficult to turn to God during crises because they feel God has turned away from them. Most of these people got into trouble because they disobeyed an instruction of God, and then concluded that, God wouldn’t hear their “cry” for help.

That is a wrong misconception of who God is and the nature of His love.

To think God wouldn’t hear your call for help because He is angry is not consistent with the revelation of Jesus.

Relate with God, on the grounds of his unfailing love towards you.

God’s love was demonstrated towards you through Christ when you were dead in sin. Much more now that you are one with Him.

No matter how you think you have offended or disappointed God, He will not withhold His love from you when you call.

No matter how deep you have drowned in defeat, God’s unfailing love will sustain you.

Trust in the love of God for you, it never fails!
