THE  RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD REVEALED

For the gospel reveals the righteousness of God that comes by faith from start top finish, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” 

Romans 1:17 (Berean Standard Bible)

When corruption entered man’s heart, man lost the confidence to stand in the presence of God without any sense of guilt.

“And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.” Genesis 3:8 (KJV)

Because of their unbelief, corruption entered them and they felt condemned and imperfect to stand in God’s presence.

He asked, “Adam, where are you?” (Genesis 3:9).

God is interested in where you are. He wants you to be in His presence.

He made man to commune with him. God is expecting you in the place of deep fellowship with Him.

And you can only stand in God’s presence by the supply of His righteousness. To reject God is to reject His righteousness. Unbelief doesn’t make you receive what God supplies.

To have fellowship or intimacy with God is according to the dispensing of His life and your faith in Him.

From the corruption of man, until Jesus came, man’s challenge has mainly been “how to attain the righteousness of God”.

When the law of Moses was given, the Jews thought the righteousness of God would come by the law.

Rather, the law unmasked their weaknesses, imperfections and sins.
They were only righteous in their own sight but had a sense of guilt before God.

“Now do you see it? No one can ever be made right in God’s sight by doing what the law commands. For the more we know of God’s laws, the clearer it becomes that we aren’t obeying them; his laws serve only to make us see that we are sinners.” Romans 3:21 (TLB)

The righteousness which is of God can only come by faith through Christ Jesus.

This is why the reality of the Gospel is the greatest gift of God to mankind.

The Gospel simply means GOOD NEWS; there are no two Gospels.

The Gospel reveals the righteousness of God which comes by faith. Which means, it unveils or declares how God makes you right in His sight.

The Gospel doesn’t declare the list of things you have to do to become righteous. It doesn’t point you to your works, it points you to Christ’s finished work in terms of your justification.

There is nothing you can do outside what Christ has done which will make you righteous.

The righteousness of God is not revealed by the law, the righteousness of God is revealed by the Gospel of Grace.

The more you give attention to the Gospel of Jesus, the more your heart is empowered with the confidence of what God has done for and made you.

When you received Jesus into your heart by faith, you received God’s righteousness. You are now the righteous of God in Christ.
