DEALING WITH UNSEEN INFLUENCES 4
“For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places”
Ephesians 6:12 (NLT)
The greatest weapon of the adversary against men is deception.
To wrestle or fight against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world and evil spirits is not a fight with physical strength or abilities.
It doesn’t require human strategies. To wrestle or fight with these unseen forces is a matter of words and thoughts.
The attacks of the adversary is always focused on your inner man. This is why you must always guard your heart.
Don’t treat thoughts as mere thoughts or imaginations. Thoughts which are not consistent with the knowledge of Christ, are negative transmissions of the adversary into your spirit and soul. These transmissions provide pathways for demons to travel into your life to afflict and oppress you.
Where do you think depression, stress, anxiety, fear and doubts emanates from?
They are intrinsically not from the situations you find yourself. They are not first by the people who offend you. Those situations and people are mere conduits or channels for the adversary to attack you with his evil blazing arrows.
You must be on guard to engage the armour of the Lord.
As I explained to you yesterday, Jesus decoded the source of Peter’s revelation. He knew it was not by flesh and blood, but through the supernatural influence of the Father. (See Matthew 16:16-17)
Jesus affirmed how the spiritual influences your life when you are availed.
In that same chapter, there was another instance similar to what we discussed previously.
“From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.
Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!” But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.” Matthew 16:21-23 (NKJV)
Did Jesus call Peter Satan?
Was Peter not the one Jesus was praising not long ago?
Peter who spoke by divine revelation was now an agency for the voice of Satan.
The adversary knowing the influence of Peter, was speaking through Peter to discourage Jesus from going to the cross.
Jesus knew the force or influence by which Peter spoke. He knew it wasn’t a wrestling with Peter, it was a fight with the devil. He rebuked the negative voice of the adversary.
Which negative voice or thought are you amplifying or vocalizing?
Set your mind on the knowledge of Christ. Don’t submit to any thoughts which are contradictory to the knowledge of Christ.
Submit your thoughts to the thoughts of God through the study of the scriptures.
Refuse to yield to wrong thoughts and emotions. Stand firm and set your gaze on the Lord.
