TAKE THE WORD AS IT IS

“Jesus looked at her and said, “Didn’t I tell you that if you will believe in me, you will see God unveil his power?”

    John 11:40 (TPT)

Until you learn to esteem God’s Word in your life, your focus towards God may be impaired.

There are times, because you may feel disappointed that God didn’t do things as you expected, you begin to doubt His word.

God always has a bigger picture for your life; therefore, you don’t put Him in a box or set boundaries for Him.

No challenge should be big enough to move you away from God. No challenge should be big enough to make you doubt God.

From the beginning of John 11, we can see that Jesus received a message concerning Lazarus’ health condition. And knowing how Jesus loved Mary, Martha and Lazarus, they were expecting a different response from Jesus than what happened.

“One day Lazarus became very sick to the point of death. So his sisters sent a message to Jesus, “Lord, our brother Lazarus, the one you love, is very sick. Please come!”
When he heard this, he said, “This sickness will not end in death for Lazarus, but will bring glory and praise to God. This will reveal the greatness of the Son of God by what takes place.” Now even though Jesus loved Mary, Martha, and Lazarus, he remained where he was for two more days. Finally, on the third day, he said to his disciples, “Come. It’s time to go to Bethany”. John 11:2-7 (TPT).

Now, when Jesus arrived, His friend Lazarus had been dead and buried for four days.
Now, clearly, Mary and Martha were disappointed that Jesus didn’t come early. And they all expressed their disappointment uniquely.

But let me draw your attention to a similar situation.
The story of the Roman Centurion, he had a servant who was sick and requested Jesus to speak a word instead of visiting him. (See Matthew 8:5-13).
Mary and Martha could have demonstrated similar faith to see their brother healed. Well, they were disappointed instead, and we see Martha responding wrongly to Jesus.

Don’t allow your experiences (which may also include your disappointments), assumptions, and limited knowledge, define your response to God’s word.

To exercise absolute confidence in God’s Word, take God’s Word as it is. Don’t read your preconceived motive into His word.
Martha went to meet Jesus when He was approaching their village:

Martha said to Jesus, “My Lord, if only you had come sooner, my brother wouldn’t have died. But I know that if you were to ask God for anything, he would do it for you.” Jesus told her, “Your brother will rise and live.” She replied, “Yes, I know he will rise with everyone else on resurrection day.” John 11:21-24 (TPT).

Martha believed in Jesus at the level of what she had experienced, not according to the Word of the Lord.
She has seen and heard that Jesus healed the sick. However, she didn’t know Jesus as the resurrection and the life.
When Jesus said, your brother shall rise, she responded with head knowledge:

“Yes, I know he will rise with everyone else on resurrection day.”.

However, to walk in absolute confidence in God’s word, you must respond to God with your heart.

This was why even after Jesus had explained that He is the resurrection and the life, Martha had to make an argument about the decomposition of Lazarus’ body.

She was still responding to Jesus according to her head knowledge. Faith is responding to God according to His word and not by how you feel.

Stand and act consistently according to the WORD and not your mere experience.

    Selah.

BREAK FREE FROM LOW SELF-REGARD AND INSECURITIES 2 — BREAK FREE FROM ALL LIMITATIONS 4

“For everyone born of God is victorious and overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has conquered and overcome the world—our [continuing, persistent] faith [in Jesus the Son of God].”

    1 John 5:4 (Amplified Bible)

Low self-esteem or self-regard and insecurities have limited people from walking into the fulfilment of their purpose.

As I mentioned previously, faith is your way out of that limitation. Remember, faith operates by the revelational light of the Word of God.

While talking about the “heroes of faith”, the author of the book of Hebrews mentioned Gideon.

“How much more do I need to say? It would take too long to recount the stories of the faith of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and all the prophets.” Hebrews 11:32 (NLT)

To have Gideon’s name among “heroes of faith” is an evidence that you are only celebrated and remembered for your victory and not your limitations.

No one will celebrate your insecurities and low self-regard.
No one will remember you for feeling worthless.

Without God’s intervention, Gideon would have remained subjugated by his mental limitations. And Israel wouldn’t have experienced him as a great leader and deliverer.

Until you stop the self-pity party, destinies are going to be destroyed.

Awakening from the “worthlessness” feelings will make you a blessing to many.

Gideon did struggle with an inferiority complex.
He defined himself by his family status. He struggled with insecurity, self-doubt, and worthlessness.

When God came to him, He referred to him as “…a mighty man of valor”.

His trauma, self-doubt, low self-regard and the fear of the Midianites made him question even the thought that God was with the Israelites.

Gideon also doubted that he was a mighty man.

While the Lord saw him as a mighty man of valor, a man of great strength to save or deliver Israel, he saw himself as insignificant.

“But Gideon said to Him, “Please Lord, how am I to rescue Israel? Behold, my family is the least [significant] in Manasseh, and I am the youngest (smallest) in my father’s house.” Judges 6:15 (Amplified Bible)

This Gideon, who disregarded himself, felt to be the weakest among the weak (considering his family background), irrelevant, insignificant and worthless to lead Israel, became a hero of faith. Even his faith became a testimony for those of the New Testament (and generations yet unborn).

Gideon would have remained worthless if he had not yielded to the word of the Lord.

It is not how you feel about yourself, it is what God says about you.

The word of God is the mirror of God, which brings you to the knowledge of your true self.

Gideon was able to break free from his insecurities and low self-regard because of the revelational light of God.

Don’t think you are the first to have self-doubt. You have seen Abraham and Sarah, and also Gideon. Even Jeremiah the Prophet had insecurities.

    Here is his personal testimony:

“Ah, Lord GOD,” I said, “I surely do not know how to speak, for I am only a child!” But the LORD told me: “Do not say, ‘I am only a child.’ For to everyone I send you, you must go, and all that I command you, you must speak. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you,” declares the LORD.…” Jeremiah 1:6-8 (Berean Study Bible)

Moses doubted his eloquence to speak before Pharaoh. He disregarded himself because he was slow of speech and tongue. (Exodus 4:10-12). Later, when he submitted his thoughts to the word of the Lord, he led Israel out of captivity.

Many lives will not be impacted or transformed when you keep doubting yourself and what God has called you to do.

No matter the insecurities, the doubts and the weakness you feel, this is what the Lord is saying to you: “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9).

BREAK FREE FROM ALL LIMITATIONS 2

“For everyone born of God is victorious and overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has conquered and overcome the world—our [continuing, persistent] faith [in Jesus the Son of God].”

    1 John 5:4 (Amplified Bible)

Beloved in Christ, it is not a mistake you are reading today’s Machaira with Apostle Bennie.

This is a special message to you.

You have no reason to feel hopeless, tired and defeated.

No matter the reasons you have, none of them surmount the victory which Christ has wrought for you.

You may have the whole world against you, and all systems opposing your advancement, but none of them can surmount your faith in Christ Jesus.

No matter the limitations you may feel, see or experience around you, faith in Christ gives you the superior advantage.

What are the limitations you see in your pursuit of purpose?

Do you think they are too big for you?

Do you feel or think you are too small and lack the strength to prevail in life?

Do you think your family setup and academic failures are limitations to your progress?

Even Esau, who lost his birthright and blessings, had an opportunity to prevail. Read here.

Do you even think you have wasted time and cannot achieve your dreams?

See, Sarah, who was barren, old in years, and long past the age of childbearing, received strength to conceive a child. (Genesis 18:11; Hebrews 11:11).

    Don’t doubt the Lord!

And if you have ever doubted, today marks a new beginning. Don’t think that because you doubted, there is no hope for you.

Abraham laughed when he was first told he was going to give birth to a son.

“Abraham fell facedown. Then he laughed and said to himself, “Can a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? Can Sarah give birth at the age of ninety?” (Genesis 17:17)

Sarah also laughed within herself, saying, “After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?” (Genesis 18:12).

Their laughter was based on biological facts. Biologically or scientifically, both Abraham and Sarah have passed the stage of childbirth.

Sarah, at 90, meant her reproductive system had entered and even gone beyond menopause.

Menopause is a natural decline in reproductive hormones. At this stage, the ovaries stop releasing eggs for fertilisation (which is the loss of ovarian follicular function).

When the menstrual cycles and egg production cease, natural pregnancy is impossible.

Also, the uterus and other reproductive organs experience age-related changes that can make pregnancy more difficult or impossible.

But amidst all these limitations, faith activated will cause the limitless word of God to prevail over every limitation.

“And the Lord said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?
Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.”
    Genesis 18:13-14 (KJV)

    Oh glory!

One powerful question which should be your faith for every challenge was what the Lord asked Abraham.

IS ANYTHING TOO HARD FOR THE LORD?

From then on, Abraham and Sarah chose to exercise themselves in the faith of God.

Abraham, against hope, believed in hope that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken.

Your set time to take the stand of faith is now. As you are born of God, live in the confidence of the faith of God.

As you are born of God, you have the faith to conquer and overcome the world (with its systems, limitations and oppositions).

By faith, Sarah prevailed over the limitations of childbearing in old age.

    Refuse to be limited!!!

Don’t settle for the limitations around you. Don’t think according to your background or where you live. Don’t make decisions according to how you feel.

In Christ Jesus, there are no limitations. All limitations are mental illusions.

    DON’T FORGET

“Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth.”

    Proverbs 4:5 (NKJV)

God does nothing without His word.
He created the Heavens and the earth by His word. (Genesis 1:3).

Even the worlds were framed by His Word (Hebrews 11:3).

He spoke forth the promise of Salvation through the seed of the woman.

Salvation came to mankind through the Word. The Word became flesh so He could complete and fulfil God’s Salvation plan. (John 1:1,14, 29).

Even the new birth of incorruptibility is by the word of God (1 Peter 1:23)

God’s word is powerful (Hebrews 4:12), and it is the wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:24).

The word of God has the ability to quicken your soul (Psalm 119:25,50)

The Word of God doesn’t fail.

“For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
    Isaiah 55:10-11 (KJV)

    You will find these three things;

    1. God’s word is fruit-bearing.
    2. God’s word accomplishes God’s pleasure.
    3. God’s word prospers.

Every word of God concerning you shall not fail, just as the prophetic word of our Lord Jesus did not fail. Peter the apostle said, “We have a more sure word of prophecy” (2 Peter 1:19).

You have a responsibility to know the sure word of prophecy and to continuously walk in the remembrance of the word.

The reality is this: whatever God has said about you will bear fruit.

You don’t have to forget. You don’t have to let it slip out of your mind or heart. Stay glued to the word. The more you set your heart on it through meditation, the more you become courageous and increase in faith for the manifestation of the Word.

The adversary knows that when you forget, you will not be able to experience or enjoy the prosperity of the Word. He labours to get your heart distracted from what God has said, so that you will walk in faithlessness.

Your greatest disadvantage has always been how you become forgetful of what God has said.

Don’t allow failures, mammon, self-gratification, challenges, or negative situations to make you forget or doubt the word of the Lord.

What is the word you have received?

Know that the word of God which you have received shall prosper, be accomplished and produce fruits.

    Therefore, don’t forget!

If only you would not forget, you would see the manifestation of the word.

Put yourself into remembrance every day.

There’s blessing in not forgetting the word of the Lord.

YOUR SEASON OF EXALTATION IS HERE

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”

    1 Peter 5:6 – 7 (NKJV)

The adversary wants you to lose your confidence in God. He wants you to feel distressed or discouraged about how things have not gone in the direction you expected. And to think God is not caring and the promises of the scriptures are not true.

His goal is to force or push you to a level where you become angry with God.

He wants you to deny the reality of God’s kindness in your heart. He keeps reminding you of your failures and the negative experiences you’ve had, though you have been serving the Lord.

He keeps sowing thoughts of doubts or posing doubtful questions in your mind.

    For example:

“After you gave that amount to the Kingdom gospel, has your life become better?”

“You had hoped to see your dad or mum healed of that infirmity, what has happened?” “And you think the healing power of God is real?”

“Do you even think the Gospel message of Jesus is real?”

“Don’t you think these things are mere lies or fables?”

“Look at your family, your siblings; do you remember your friend who also lost their parents?”, “How about your uncle who served God but has lost everything?”
“Don’t you think the stories of the Bible are mere fiction?”

“You don’t need God to be better, take your own life into your own hands. And forget about this God”

Listen, when the adversary comes after your faith and exaltation, he tries to hit you hard at your weakest state. He will shamelessly and persistently inject more questions and thoughts to break you down.

Have you had questions like these also:

“Where was God when you failed your exams?” “Where was God when you got raped?” “Where was God when you were robbed?” “Where was God when you lost that money?” “Where was God when everyone left you?” “Where was God when you were abused, maltreated, cheated, scammed?” “Where was God when the lady or gentleman you loved left you or abandoned you?” etc

These questions are targeted by the adversary to establish enmity between you and God.

All of a sudden, you forget the goodness of God. You forget your testimonies, and you continue to brood over these thoughts of the devil.

You even begin to forget that the very air you breathe is a gift from God.

You suddenly become so arrogant and proud before the Lord.

Get this, such thoughts are attacks of the devil, to build strongholds of pride in your heart. Such thoughts are programmed by the adversary to make you doubt God’s help and to shipwreck your faith.

Such thoughts become stronger when you are close to your season of exaltation.

The adversary knows that the more you humble yourself before the Lord, the more you increase in faith to receive from the Lord.

He knows the more you submit to the power of the word of God, the stronger your expectation for your miracle and exaltation.

“Surely there is a future [and a reward], And your hope and expectation will not be cut off” Proverbs 23:18 (Amplified Bible).

He doesn’t want you to have any expectation or hope in the Lord. He makes you think you can’t predict or expect anything glorious.

    That is a lie!

Beloved, you have to maintain your expectation in God. Your season of exaltation is here. Don’t allow your past to distract you.

“Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward” Hebrews 10:35

A life lived by the word of God is predictable. When you live by the word, you can have expectations of glory.

There is nothing like uncertainty in the Word of God. This doesn’t mean you will not face opposition. You may face the worst of challenges. But the counsel of the Lord for your life shall stand.

Joseph, who was a promised child, was sold into slavery by his brothers, and he was taken to prison by his master Potipher (whose house prospered because of Joseph, Genesis 39:2-5). He chose to honour God, and he was imprisoned

    What?

    Where was God?

Listen, the Lord was with Joseph all through. Though those seasons were challenging times for Joseph, everything was playing out perfectly for him. The slave who became a prisoner rose to become the Prime Minister.

Beloved, don’t give up, refuse the doubts and remain humble before the Lord, for the season of your exaltation is here!

    Hallelujah!

    – Through prayer and the study of the word I build more absolute confidence in God.

    – I don’t give my mind to the negative situations around me, I make the word of God my focus.

    Oh Hallelujah, Gloreeeey!!!
