    BE FULL OF THE WORD

“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God”

    Ephesians 6:17 (KJV)

The thoughts that run through your mind and the words you speak will always affect your living.

The kind of thoughts you entertain will shape your words, and your words will define your world.

When the adversary wants to attack your world, he exposes your mind to wrong thoughts. If he wants you to live defeated, he invades your mind with thoughts of weakness, failure, doubt, and negativity.

This is why you must become intentional with the meditation of the word of God.

You are not like a tree planted by the rivers of water simply because you are born again. It is not that automatic.

You can only be like a tree planted by the rivers of water when you make the word of God your delight and meditation (Psalm 1:1-3)

You cannot wage good warfare when you are not full of the word of God.

Imagine a soldier going to war without a sword.

How is he going to have an offensive advantage?

And the Word of God in your mouth is the Sword of the Spirit. Until you are full of the Word in all situations, you will not be sharp enough to address every opposing thought.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. (Colossians 3:16)

The greatest deceptive strategy of the adversary against you (as a believer in Christ) is to attack your thoughts by casting shadows on your mind, using the scriptures.

He cast shadows by misquoting or misrepresenting the true meaning of the word.

He mainly attacks your identity in Christ.

That was how he attacked Adam and Eve in Eden. He attacked their identity.

“Of course we may eat it,” the woman told him. “It’s only the fruit from the tree at the center of the garden that we are not to eat. God says we mustn’t eat it or even touch it, or we will die.”

“That’s a lie!” the serpent hissed. “You’ll not die! God knows very well that the instant you eat it you will become like him, for your eyes will be opened—you will be able to distinguish good from evil.” Genesis 3:3-4 (TLB)

Meanwhile, God created man in His own image and after His own likeness (Genesis 1:26).

Again, after the Father had declared these words during the baptism of Jesus, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased!” (Matthew 3:17)

The devil came to tempt Jesus, saying, “ If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread.” (Matthew 4:3)

    Do you see it?

He came attacking what the voice said concerning Jesus.

The moment he used the phrase “If you are the Son of God”, he was subtly creating uncertainty in the mind of Jesus.

He now wants Jesus to think he is not yet the son of God, but will only become one by doing what he tells him to do. And if Jesus had done what the adversary was deceptively asking for, he might have lived in doubt of who He is and been ruled by the thoughts of the devil.

Beloved, do not be ignorant of the devices of the enemy.

The adversary will always attack what God says about you!

Jesus knew the devil’s devices and deployed the word of God.

“But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4)

    Did the devil stop there?

Not at all. He kept using various means in an attempt to make Jesus act contrary to his reality. Yet, Jesus consistently addressed the situation with the word, till He finally and sternly cast the devil out using the word as a weapon. Jesus didn’t just quote the scripture; He had to use it as a weapon.

This time, Jesus didn’t just say it is written, He said:

“Get out of here, Satan,” Jesus told him. “For the Scriptures say, ‘You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.’ (Matthew 4:10)

This was similar to what David did when he confronted Goliath.

Beloved, what is the challenge confronting you? Take hold of the word of God concerning that situation and use the word as a weapon to enforce your victory.

Get hold of the word, be full of the word of God, that you may be ready in all seasons; with your mouth full of the right words to be used to wage war.

    Hallelujah!

DON’T BE QUIET, SPEAK FORTH THE WORD

“And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God…Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

    Mark 11:22, 24 (ESV)

Have you ever been in a moment when you felt so much faith but didn’t see the results of your prayer?

Well, sometimes, during such moments, you may not be acting in faith. You may be acting confidently in your own efforts.

There are times people believe in their efforts made in prayer rather than in the ability of God. You will always be disappointed if you look at yourself.

To have faith is to have confidence in God and His saving ability. Faith is not vim!

Faith is not how you feel. Faith is not waiting for a change. Faith is believing without a doubt in your heart that the change has happened and you have received it.

The faith of God in your heart cannot fail.

Jesus didn’t have any doubt in His heart when He spoke to the fig tree. The fig tree didn’t shrivel up simply because Jesus is the Saviour of the world or because He is God. If that was the case then there was no need for Jesus to tell His disciples, “let the faith of God be in you.”

With such a response, Jesus was explaining to the disciples the secret to causing changes.

Jesus went on to make the disciples understand that they can speak to anything at all by the faith of God.
As He spoke to the fig tree, they can also speak to the mountains.

How is it possible to speak to the mountain to move?

It is by believing in your heart that whatever you say will happen because you have the faith of God.

“Jesus replied, “Let the faith of God be in you! Listen to the truth I speak to you: If someone says to this mountain with great faith and having no doubt, ‘Mountain, be lifted up and thrown into the midst of the sea,’ and believes that what he says will happen, it will be done. Mark 11:22-23 (TPT)

For Jesus to use this example that the disciples can say to a mountain be lifted and thrown into the sea, it means they can speak to change every situation.

If you can have the faith of God in your heart, you can speak to that infirmity in your body to be moved and be lifted into the sea.

If a mountain will disappear at the word spoken in faith, then that kidney condition will disappear from your body; the cancer in the breast will leave; the growth in your brain will disappear, the health condition in your lungs will disappear as you will not doubt in your heart.

To doubt is to be uncertain or to be afraid that what you have said will not happen. And mostly people doubt because they esteem the situation rather than the power of God. Others also doubt because they look at themselves and their incapabilities rather than the ability of God.

All things were made by the word of God. Therefore, when you speak forth God’s word and you believe in your heart, the change will happen!

Don’t keep quiet to watch the mountains before you. You can speak to it now according to the word of the Lord.

That heart disease or cancer, or tumour of any kind can desiccate completely or wither from the root.

Speak forth the word of God in faith without any doubt in your heart!

    Hallelujah.

    YOU HAVE A BLESSED LIFE

“The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands”

    Deuteronomy 28:12 (NIV)

It’s easy to feel less blessed when you’re overwhelmed with challenges. Sometimes, when it seems like nothing seems to work, you will feel like God’s promises aren’t for you.

You look at others and feel they are blessed, and everything works successfully in their lives.

You may also wonder if it is possible for a person to have:

    – Beautiful marriage and blessed children

    – Prosperous career or profession, and business

    – Outstanding Ministry

    – A dignified and peaceful life.

Beloved, this is God’s design for your life.

You can enjoy a life more beautiful and glorious than it was in “Eden”.

Let this sink deep in your heart; the outcome of your life is what you believe with your heart.

Do you believe that you can have a life full of glory and beauty?

Hear this, all things are possible to them that believe (Mark 9:23).

“All things” here means all things. Whether you read it in Hebrew, Greek, Latin, French, English, etc.

    ALL THINGS MEANS ALL THINGS!

Whatever you believe will gravitate towards you.

Do not accept the idea that your life is full of struggle.

Hold on to the word of God.

As you act in complete obedience of faith to the word of God, you will see the manifested glory of the word. The blessing of the word of God is not for some limited people.

It is for those who believe!

Maintain this strong mentality of faith that you are a blessed man.

Let it be your consciousness that your hands are so blessed that everything you touch will turn to gold. Wherever you go and whatever you do is prosperous because God is with you.

No matter the challenge, you will emerge strong, with mighty testimonies

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you.” Isaiah 43:2 (AMP)

No challenge is bigger than you. Whatever you come in contact with, you will become the center of attraction.

Always see yourself as one with blessed hands.

The more you think this way, the more all things align for your good.

    WORK THE WORD INTO YOU

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

    Joshua 1:8 (ESV)

Meditation is not a mere religious cliché. It is a proven divine method for good success.

This statement to Joshua in our opening verse is repeatedly affirmed in the scriptures.

Take a look at another verse:

“But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.” Psalm 1:2-3 (NKJV)

    This is exciting.

There is so much the meditation of the Word does to you; it brings the richness of the Word of God unto fruition in your life.

Some struggle to be diligent in meditating on the Word of God because they have not made it their delight.

    This is the point:

Whether you are conscious of it or not, you are always involved in some level of meditation. The issue has always been what you are meditating on daily. If you want to see the results of the Word of God, you must meditate on the Word.

Until the Word of God becomes your delight, you will not make it your object of meditation.

    Therefore, delight in the Word.

These are basic steps for effective meditation.

    1. Read the Word (and also listen to the teachings of the Word of Grace).

You have access to the Word of God through the reading of the Bible. The Bible addresses every situation. Be an avid reader of the Bible to know what God has said about your situation.

The Word of God also comes to you through sound teachings (therefore listen to tapes and be present at Church meetings. God always has a word for you).

    2. Intentionally memorize the scriptures. Don’t be forgetful.

The word doesn’t manifest just because you are aware of the scriptures. This doesn’t suggest you don’t have to be aware of the scriptures. What it means is that memorizing or being aware of the scriptures is not the end in itself. Memorizing the scriptures is useful for meditation. When you memorize a specific scripture, it becomes easy to regurgitate.

    3. Continue daily, at every given time, to think upon or mull over the Word in your heart over and over again. And then mutter, speak those words to yourself, till it becomes your bold and loud joyful confessions.

This brings you to the state where you are not only aware of the Word, but you personalize and exercise ownership of the revelation of the Word for your manifestation.

    Selah.

THE LIBERATING POWER OF READING THE WORD

During the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, learned from reading the word of the LORD, as revealed to Jeremiah the prophet, that Jerusalem must lie desolate for seventy years

    Daniel 9:2 (NIV)

God created the world by speaking words. Therefore, it takes understanding and knowledge of the words of God to effectively interact with the universe of God.

God inspired men to properly document His words for the benefit of those who will read and believe.

These men did not write the scriptures by their own will.

“No part of the Holy Writings came long ago because of what man wanted to write. But holy men who belonged to God spoke what the Holy Spirit told them.” 2 Peter 1:21 (NLV)

Which means any one who communes with the writings of the scriptures, will grow in the understanding of God’s thoughts and principles.

The scriptures have what it takes to make you wise (2 Timothy 3:15), because they articulate the wisdom of God.

God doesn’t want you to be ignorant. He wants you to be established in the understanding of His truth. By that, you shall not be decieved as the first couple (Adam and Eve) were decieved by the serpent.

The only way the adversary can stop you from fulfilling God’s purpose for your life is by means of deception.

And the way to escape the deception of the adversary is by the understanding and knowledge of the truth.

You cannot grow in knowledge without accessing the knowledge of God.

In his writing, Luke said, “Dear friend,
I am writing for you, mighty lover of God, an orderly account of what Jesus, the Anointed One, accomplished and fulfilled among us. Several eyewitness biographies have already been written, using as their source material the good news preached among us by his early disciples, who became loving servants of the Living Expression. But now I am passing on to you this accurate compilation of my own meticulous investigation based on numerous eyewitness interviews and thorough research of the story of his life. It is appropriate for me to write this, for he also appeared to me so that I would reassure you beyond any shadow of a doubt the reliability of all you have been taught of him.” Luke 1:1-4 (TPT)

Though Luke was inspired to write the gospel, he first gained understanding by reading other accounts.

And one major means by which you can access the rich knowledge of God, is by reading the word of God.

One of the best things which can happen to you is to have the ability to read; precisely reading the scriptures.

Anyone who reads and understands the scriptures walks in liberty. The knowledge of the truth makes you free.

Whiles the Israelites were in captivity, Daniel the prophet was interested in knowing when the captivity and desolation of Israel will end.

Though he was a prophet and a prime minister, Daniel committed himself to thorough study and reading of the divine oracles.

He understood by books (which was mainly the compilations of the prophetic writings of the Prophet Jeremiah). The prophet Jeremiah wrote concerning the captivity, desolation of Jerusalem and the number of years by which the desolation of Jerusalem will be completed. (See Jeremiah 5:9,11-12; 29:10)
The understanding he received by reading the prophetic writings influenced the intercession he had to make for the deliverance of Israel and Jerusalem.

Daniel could have prayed wrongly if he had not received understanding.

People pray and don’t receive answers because they pray amiss. It is only by ignorance will a person pray amiss. (James 4:3).

Reading the scriptures exposes you to the rich realities which the Lord has already given to you. Definitely, there are some matters in scriptures which may require explanation by those who are equipped with understanding.

An example of it was the Ethiopian Eunuch who didn’t understand the writing of the Prophet Isaiah and needed Philip to help him with what he was reading (Acts 8:27-38).

The Lord has also equipped sound teachers of the word in this generation to provide detail exposition of the scriptures to illuminate the hearts of believers. Just as you now have access to Machaira with Apostle Bennie.

Reading this devotional will usher you into perfect understanding of the word of God.

    FAITH IS THE REAL DEAL

“When Jesus heard it, he marvelled and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

    Matthew 8:10 (KJV)

There is no God-kind of results without faith.

The faith of God within you is not just for seasonal showmanship. The faith of God is not just for moments when you need urgent results or a testimony. Your entire life is lived by faith. Faith is the law of life at work in you as you have come into the new living way in Christ.
The faith of God within you can be nurtured. You grow in faith as you continue to practice, function and act according to the revelation of Jesus.
Let me explain this to you:

Jesus is the object or the embodiment of our Faith. Faith is authored and completed in Him. (Hebrews 12:2). This is called the “Objective faith”

As we have discussed, faith was infused and sown into your heart through the ministry of the Word. (Romans 10:17). The faith sown into you creates an inward response that becomes a personal faith. This is also referred to as “Subjective faith“. This subjective or personal faith is built by the consistent revelation of the word of God in your heart. You don’t grow the objective faith; instead, you grow and increase in the objective faith. Your growth and increase in the objective faith is called growing your faith. As you grow in faith, your personal faith increases.

All through the scriptures, there are only two places (specifically in the New Testament portion of the Bible) where God MARVELLED.

    Both were connected to FAITH.

Interestingly, there are only two scenarios where Jesus referred to the faith of certain persons as GREAT.

Exercising yourself in FAITH is so essential to God. If Jesus, by whom this beautiful, jaw-dropping and astonishing universe was made, could still MARVEL at something, then that matter is worth our interest and meditation.

Jesus didn’t marvel at the great miracles He did. Though, all the people marvelled and were astonished by His great miraculous deeds and depths of wisdom in His utterances. Jesus was not marvelled once by this complex universe and constellations.

Instead, the great faith of the Roman centurion (Matthew 8:10) and the faithlessness of His own people in Nazareth marvelled Him (Mark 6:6).

It was matters concerning FAITH that made Jesus marvel.
Faith is not an option in God. It is the REAL DEAL. Live by faith!
No wonder the scripture says without faith, it is impossible to please God. (Hebrews 11:6).

This is how GREAT FAITH works:

And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.
And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.
The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
When Jesus heard it, He marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.“ Matthew 8:5-10 (KJV)
Sincerely, it is amazing to know that Jesus was not marvelled positively by the great Jewish scholars or Rabbi and leaders. He was marvelled by a Gentile, who also is a Roman centurion.

There are a few key items that will help you understand how to exercise GREAT FAITH.

Firstly, The great level of reverence and humility demonstrated by the Centurion.

During classical antiquity, a centurion in the Roman army was a commander of 100 legionary military units. They defended and exercised control in Roman territories. They uphold the authority of Rome and don’t bow to anyone except Rome.

Yet, He called Jesus Lord, which means MASTER. Do you know what it means for a Roman Centurion to call a Jew MASTER?

It means this Centurion had caught a great revelation of who Jesus is.

Great faith is not confidence in the self or what you know. It is not found in who you think you are without God. It is not your confidence in the position or rank in government or a great organization. Neither is it found in the money in your account nor the number of hours you pray in tongues (though it is worth it).
The greatest limitation of faith is pride.
Exercising great faith always begins with having reverence for God and submitting to Him.

    WE PRAY
    – That any form of pride and ego will be subdued and crushed by the revelation of Jesus.

    – We will exercise the wisdom to submit completely to the Lord in all humility and godly reverence.

    In the name of Jesus.
