    HAVE YOU SUBMITTED?

So submit to [the authority of] GodResist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you.

    James 4:7 (Amplified Bible)

The word ‘submission’ has been a “No…No” word for most people today.

There are some people who grew up in homes where love wasn’t expressed. They saw their frustrated parents as tyrants. Some were forced to submit to strict, ungodly rules and authorities in their schools or workplaces.
Others became victims of bullies who forced them to do things against their own will.
The wicked structure of the world has given people the wrong impression about submission. They think submission is preached in Church, just to control people and force them to do things against their will.

They have equated submission to fear and oppression. The adversary has succeeded in making people feel God has no good plans for them. Thus, submitting to God is never going to bring them to an expected glorious end.

This has always been the strategy of the enemy. These were the same seeds he sowed in the hearts of Adam, and generated unbelief.
God has a beautiful plan for your life. And submitting to God is submitting to a loving father.
If you can submit yourself to a pilot in a plane, then you should submit to God who made the universe.
Submission to God is bringing yourself under His influence and authority. It is yielding to His will for your life.

Someone will say, “I said it, he wants me to submit to God against my will. Apostle is writing this to tell me to put my will aside and accept the will of God”.

    Interesting, what is your will?

Your will wasn’t conditioned to function without God. A man’s will is cultivated by his environment.
Which means your will is always submitted to something.  And here, I am helping you find a better expression of your will.
Until you submit your will to the Lord, you cannot live according to God’s original, glorious design for you.
Submission to God is a sign of a mature life in Christ.

A man who is submissive to God walks in the obedience of God’s word. The word of God becomes the light and arrangement of his thoughts and actions.

A man who is submitted to God cannot be controlled by the flesh and the world. Such a person exercises authority over the devil.

So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you. James 4:7.

To submit to God is the enjoyment of grace, direction and divine elevation.

EPISODE 808 – WHY HONOUR YOUR LEADERS

Beloved, until you speak forth the Word, you shall not see a performance. No matter the matter, don’t speak your fears, don’t speak your challenges, SPEAK THE RHEMA OF GOD IN YOUR HEART!

    WHY HONOUR YOUR LEADERS

“and [we ask that you appreciate them and] hold them in the highest esteem in love because of their work [on your behalf]. Live in peace with one another.”

    1 Thessalonians 5:13 (Amplified Bible)

To address the practical ways to honour your leader, you should first know its importance. Most people don’t see why or the need to appreciate their leaders.

    – Appreciating and honouring the leaders God has set over you is also a demonstration of honour to God.

The Church is established by our Lord Jesus. The Leaders who are set in the Church are appointed by the Lord. They don’t serve themselves or their interest. They serve the interest and the purpose of the Lord. These leaders are accountable to God.

Therefore, to dishonour these leaders is a dishonour to God’s authority. You cannot truly say that you honour the Lord and will dishonour those He has sent to you.

If you honour the Lord, you must honour His messengers.

    – Leaders must be honoured because honour allows them or gives them reason to lead with joy and not with grief. (Hebrews 13:17).

To be a leader in the Kingdom is to serve. It already comes with alot of sacrifice to be in a position of leadership within the Church. Therefore when your leaders are not leading you with joy, it gives you no advantage or benefits. You cannot benefit or gain any profit from an uninspired and griefed leader.

Your honour is part of the things which motivates a leader to express himself to you with joy. Nobody takes delight in teaching a person who is disrespectful and insubmissive or insubordinative.
How can a spiritual leader guide you into God’s agenda when you have refused to submit to his leadership?

When you don’t honour your leaders, you despise their ability to lead and minister to you. This then means you are not going to enjoy edification within the Church. Don’t increase the difficulty of their work.

    – Honouring your leaders is proof of humility.

“Likewise, you younger men [of lesser rank and experience], be subject to your elders [seek their counsel]; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another [tie on the servant’s apron], for GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD [the disdainful, the presumptuous, and He defeats them], BUT HE GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.” 1 Peter 5:5 (Amplified Bible)

Leaders enjoy more grace as they humble themselves in service. As you also submit and humble yourself to your leaders you also enjoy increased grace. To be proud is to set yourself up against the supply of God’s grace.

You have to train your mind to walk in honour.

Have you appreciated your leader today?

Appreciating and honouring your leaders is an obedience to the wisdom of God.

    Selah.

    STEWARDS OF GOD’S RESOURCES 6

“Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”

    1 Corinthians 4:2 (KJV)

God’s concept of stewardship as revealed in the scriptures is not centered on your possession and hoarding of things.

God’s Kingdom concept of stewardship is how you take care of things and also utilize these things for the purpose of His glory.

God has made us stewards of all things. He wants His people to look after His resources.

There are some believers in Christ who assume that being a steward is a degradation of identity. They prefer to be referred to as sons of God, than stewards of God’s resources.

Every believer in Christ is adopted into sonship. We share in God’s inheritance; however, we must understand as believers in Christ that, we are also appointed by God to be His stewards.

As sons of God everything that belongs to our Heavenly Father is ours as well. And the Father has also appointed us to be His stewards. As stewards of God, we are custodians who manage God’s possessions.

Jesus demonstrated how we must function both as sons of God and also as stewards of God.

He said, “All things that the Father has are mine…” (John 16:15)

See this also as Jesus prays to the Father:

All I have is Yours, and all You have is Mine; and in them I have been glorified.” (John 17:10).

In the verse 10 of John 17, you can see both sonship and stewardship:

First, Jesus acknowledges that as fully man, everything He has belongs to God. (We carefully looked into this in the previous episodes). In this sense, Jesus is declaring Himself as a steward.
Then secondly, He pointed out His divine right; all that God has also belongs to Him.

In as much as Jesus is God manifested in the flesh, He also submitted Himself to function as a steward of God’s resources.

To be a faithful steward is not only about having confidence in God’s ability but also submitting yourself as a steward to God because He owns all things.

Take a look at these two expressions to have a better understanding.

“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me.” (John 10:14)

Jesus called the people He was raising, “MY SHEEP”. That is ownership.

Jesus in His final weeks with His disciples made an account of them to the Father:

I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave me out of the world. Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. Now they know that everything that you have given me is from you. For I have given them the words that you gave me, and they have received them and have come to know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me. I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours. All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them.” John 17:6-10 (ESV)

From these verses, you can now tell that the same flock which Jesus declared as His, belongs to God instead.

Jesus as the embodiment of the God-head owns all things. Yet as a Steward, He has to care for God’s possession unto His glory.

As sons of God through Christ, we must emulate His concept of stewardship.

No matter the revelation of your identity in Christ, you must submit yourself to God as a faithful steward.

You have to see yourself as one God has entrusted with all of His resources. He has also entrusted some specific resources for you to manage.

God has put you in charge of His resources not for self-pleasure, but to manage for His glory.

You have to get down from your high horse and serve as a faithful steward.

Just as Jesus had accounted for His stewardship, you are also going to account for your stewardship.

Will you be called a good and faithful steward?

    Selah.
