DON’T BE DISTRACTED
“so that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs.”
2 Corinthians 2:11 (ESV)
The adversary knows that what takes your attention influences your direction. And what you focus on becomes your goal.
When he wants to move the direction of your life away from the course of the Lord and the purpose of God for your life, he must redefine your attention. This is one of the most subtle bad deadly weapons of the devil.
There are many who have looked back on their lives with regret because they lost focus. They started off life with great potential and a desire to accomplish so much for the Lord.
Yet in their pursuit of purpose, they lost focus and steered their love away from God’s intention for them.
The devil doesn’t distract you with evil. Knowing the condition of your heart, he will first distract you with what also seems to be good.
What do you think is the enemy of the best?
The enemy of the best is the “good” and not the “worst”.
Genuine family situations or career choices move people away from the pursuit of God’s perfect will for their lives. Nobody got distracted by reasons that first appeared foolish. People get distracted from God’s purpose for their lives by reasons which seem genuine.
A lady who had great potential and was marked as one going to do great things in the Kingdom lost focus because she was asked to spend more time with “Study group” friends in school than friends from Church.
That was how her desires were redirected from matters pertaining to God. Her desires for the Lord were watered down and became wayward. She lost her bearing of hope.
Some withdrew from a specific Church Assembly for petty reasons or reasons which were not inspired by the Holy Spirit and could not grow spiritually any more. There are places God plants you, so that He may usher you into greater manifestations.
God doesn’t want you to be ordinary, so He ushers you into a company of believers who dare to do extraordinary things. The adversary will do whatever it takes to distract you from such company.
There are people who think all Churches are the same. And you can become what God has called you to be, irrespective of where you find yourself. That is not true. Not every company of believers have a tailored system to nurture your greatness.
“Don’t be fooled by those who say such things, for “bad company corrupts good character.” 1 Corinthians 15:33 (NLT)

When Peter decided to look at the storm instead of Jesus, he began to sink (Matthew 14:30). Don’t make decisions because of challenges. Make choices which are consistent with the revelation of Jesus.
It is a trap to think you have to withdraw from your engagements with the Lord, so that you can focus on a family challenge, employment situation or a financial concern.
The adversary is luring you away from your mandate. He doesn’t want you to take and be consistent with what the Lord has begun in you.
He may even use family members, a fellow believer or a close friend to distract you. Always pay attention to the voice of the Lord.
Stay alert, maintain and imbue focus.
Selah.
