A GREAT SECRET TO MULTIPLY GRACE

“…God resists you when you are proud but multiplies grace and favor when you are humble.”

    1 Peter 5:5 (TPT)

Paul the apostle was clear on this: “I am what I am by the grace of God.”

He knew he couldn’t achieve anything without the supply of God. Grace is God’s supply to you.

(To read more on Grace, get  my new COMPENDIUM OF ETERNAL Verities, PHOTIZO ALPHA EDITION)

Jesus, as the embodiment of Grace, said, Without me you can do nothing.

The grace of God is essential for living out God’s purpose and fulfilling ministry.

Grace is the economy of God’s household. It is the substance of God’s dealings with men. While faith is the substance of our dealings with God.

Though every believer has access to the enjoyment of grace, it takes more than being born again to enjoy the multiplication of grace.

From the opening verse, you will see that pride is a hindrance to the multiplication of grace. God multiplies grace and favour to the humble.

Humility is one of the greatest secrets to the enjoyment of multiplied grace. It takes humility to submit to God’s supply.

To be proud towards God is to subtly esteem yourself above God’s graciousness.

Thus, the pride-filled person sets himself up as a resistance to the grace of God.

In his writing to the saints in Philippi, Paul the apostle addressed how satisfied he would be to see the brethren work together in love. However, the possibility of that togetherness is dependent on how they walk in humility.

Paul explained how one can exercise himself or herself in humility.

Please take a look at these scriptures:

“So I’m asking you, my friends, that you be joined together in perfect unity—with one heart, one passion, and united in one love. Walk together with one harmonious purpose and you will fill my heart with unbounded joy.
Be free from pride-filled opinions, for they will only harm your cherished unity. Don’t allow self-promotion to hide in your hearts, but in authentic humility put others first and view others as more important than yourselves. Abandon every display of selfishness. Possess a greater concern for what matters to others instead of your own interests. And consider the example that Jesus, the Anointed One, has set before us. Let his mindset become your motivation”
    Philippians 2:2-5 (TPT)

Here are a few characteristics of the humble reading through the verses:

    – The humble is compassionate.
    – The humble lives under God’s Leadership.
    – The humble surrenders to God.
    – The humble knows how to communicate in love. He’s a master communicator.
    – The humble is obedient.
    – The humble has a thankful heart.
    – The humble is wise and demonstrates wisdom by following the example of Jesus.

Walk in humility to unlock the supply of multiplied grace in your life.

    Shalom!

    Selah.

    BE HUMBLE AT ALL TIMES

“Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”

    Ephesians 6:16 (KJV)

Pride is one of the strong weapons of the enemy against your faith and fulfilment of purpose.

The adversary knows that “Pride goes before destruction” (Proverbs 16:18).

Therefore to destroy any beautiful destiny, he sows and cultivates pride in the hearts of men.

A proud person is resisted and cannot increase in grace.

Pride makes a person disrespect, disdain, and act arrogantly towards others. It makes one over esteem himself above others.

Pride makes you self-centered and unruly. You always want things to go your way and pay no attention to anyone. Pride makes you do what you feel and despises wise counsel.

Whenever you esteem your opinions above the wisdom of God’s word, know that pride has taken root in your heart. You cannot resist the devil when you are proud. To resist the devil, you must first humble yourself before the Lord.

James said, Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7).

David didn’t confront Goliath in the might of the flesh or his strength and intelligence but in the name of the Lord.

Pride will not make you submit your mind, thoughts, and emotions to the Lord.

The adversary was the first in God’s universe to demonstrate pride. He began to exalt himself above the Lord. That was the cause of his fall.

God has exalted His word, so when you begin to esteem your opinions above the word of God, you are already on the path of the devil. The end will surely be destruction.

“for the day is coming when your proud looks will be brought low; the Lord alone will be exalted. On that day the Lord Almighty will move against the proud and haughty and bring them to the dust. All the tall cedars of Lebanon and all the mighty oaks of Bashan shall bend low, and all the high mountains and hills, and every high tower and wall, and all the proud ocean ships and trim harbor craft—all shall be crushed before the Lord that day. All the glory of mankind will bow low; the pride of men will lie in the dust, and the Lord alone will be exalted.” Isaiah 2:11-17 (TLB)

The adversary sets you up for failure and disgrace through pride. Intentionally deal with pride.

True faith towards God is humble. It takes humility to look away from your challenges and to exercise confidence in what God has said.

“God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:5-7)

It will take the attitude of humility to walk in the fulfilment of God’s purpose. Don’t trust in your intelligence above the knowledge of God’s word.

Don’t be big-headed, be humble at all times.

    Shalom!

EPISODE 761 – DON’T BE DULL IN SPIRIT

    Apostle Bennie

    DON’T BE DULL IN SPIRIT

“so that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs.”

    2 Corinthians 2:11 (ESV)

The adversary doesn’t stop until he is resisted. Your resistance to the devil is not what brings you victory.

To resist the devil is to enforce the victory that Christ has obtained for you.

Victory is your inheritance in Christ. Your responsibility is to enjoy that victory and not permit any force of darkness to derail you.

The goal of the devil is to disrupt your enjoyment of Christ’s victory for you, by using all his schemes to shipwreck your faith.

Most believers don’t think it’s possible they can find themselves in this state. Which is understandable, considering what Christ has achieved for the new creation.

The reality of the Born Again is this:

“that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)” Ephesians 2:5 (NLT)

The life which the born again received is the New creation life or the Newness of Life. But until the saving grace of Jesus, the man who got saved was dead in sin.

This was also your state. Until you were saved in Christ, you were dead in sin. It was by the grace of God that you have been quickened or made alive in Christ. This was not the quickening of your mind. It was the quickening of your spirit.

When you got born again, the life of God was transfused into your spirit. And by the continuous culturing and nurturing of your mind through the Word of God and the intimacy of the Holy Spirit, you experience transformation through the renewal of your mind.

“Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.” Romans 12:2 (TPT)

The more you experience the renewal of mind the more you experience transformation and inwardly become effective in the things of Christ.

When you are not experiencing a renewal of mind, you will start becoming dull in the things pertaining to Christ.

Instead of growing in the knowledge of Christ and becoming more fervent in spirit, your mind rather imitates the ideals and opinions of the culture around you.

This leads to the deadness of your mind.

The deadness of your mind is to lose interest in the things of Christ. To be dead in the mind is to be saved but think like an unbeliever. These are people who behave like unsaved.

There are some Christians who are not just dull in spirit but dead in their minds. Yes, they are born again; baptised in the Holy Spirit but are carnal.

“For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” Romans 8:6 (KJV)

Dullness in spirit will always lead to carnality or deadness of mind when not corrected immediately.

When the adversary succeeds at luring you into this phase or state of mind, he doesn’t have to suggest thoughts any more to you. You will oppose the things of God by your own imagination and pride.

At this stage, you will esteem your thoughts above the truth of the scriptures.

The way out of such a state is to decide to humble yourself before the Lord.

If you are in this state where you are governed by your flesh and pride, you must turn to Jesus and submit to the authority of the Word.

Are you beginning to act contrary to the word of God?

Are you losing interest in the things of Christ?

You don’t even see the usefulness of Church meetings?

Are you esteeming the activities of this world above the study of the Word and staying patiently to be taught in Church?

It’s time to make a decision to be yielded and submissive to the instructions of Christ.

    LET YOURSELF OFF THE HOOK!

“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before”

    Philippians 3:13 (KJV)

The present social media world has broadened the scope of being exposed to things happening around us.

The social media space is now the busiest street or broadway, the largest market, and the fastest space for news to travel around the world.

Interestingly, even news agencies surf online to tap into the trending news to increase viewership traffic.

As long as you have access to these social media platforms you have access to things happening around the world, even the private lives of others.

Do you know there are things you wouldn’t see on the street but will most likely find on the internet?

Some introverts who wouldn’t dare to dance in public space, will comfortably dance in their bedrooms and post the video online for the whole world to see.

Through the internet, you can easily observe and identify the conceptions and imaginations of hearts. Isn’t it amazing how people have become more expressive through the internet?

One may say, that social media is a “leveller“. People easily rise to popularity and use their popularity gained online to chart a course for their interests.

Amidst the countless benefits of this social media space, there are also disadvantages.

And it’s the more reason believers in Christ must have their hearts and minds drenched in the word of God than being drowned by the happenings around in-person and this social media space.

Everyone is trying to tell a story online. Most of these stories are packaged for the views. While some share stories of their marriage, others focus on their academic prowess, material wealth, growth in business, travelling experiences, etc.

These contents are sometimes designed to educate, inspire, transform and elevate others. Some create and share these contents to prove a point or to show off.

Whether they intend to inspire or to create competition, the adversary can use these online contents to feed your heart wrongly.

The adversary takes the success stories of others to amplify what you lack; thus, making you feel stalled as an entrepreneur, a Pastor, a couple or a single person. The more he gets you to focus on the success of others the more he makes you feel or think others are better than you.

This even becomes worse when you already feel stuck in a particular area of your life.

This kind of feeling is not a new challenge to humanity but has become rampant in this social media age; mainly because of the exposure it brings.

It is not always a sense of jealousy but a nagging sense of feeling behind. The adversary takes advantage to feed your heart with his lies. He deceptively whispers to your heart:

“You are worthless. See how everyone is progressing and you are not achieving anything with your life. You are a nobody and stuck in this place forever. Nobody cared about you and you are a loser. You will keep losing and never become what you have desired. All that you have known or been told were lies. Instead of making more money, you are now broke. Your peers are making better money online and in their various fields. You are slow and cannot catch up. These people started with you, but now they are light-years ahead of you. See how beautiful those couple are with their babies, you can’t have that marriage. Stop worrying yourself with that business. It will not succeed. Look at how those younger than you are making more money than you, even though you started with them”.

A part of you may even think that feeling or thinking this way is you having a genuine retrospect of your life. You may think you are now having a reality check of your life so that you will know how to do things better.

    Stop it!

If you want to have a reality check of your life, look to Jesus.

He is the reality of your life.

To feel that nagging sense of being left behind is the adversary’s deceptive strategy to keep you hooked to your past and your heart settled on what you don’t have. This is the adversary trying to pin you down to your past mistakes and failures.

This is the adversary amplifying your weaknesses and nurturing depression in your heart. This is the adversary working so hard to keep you in the loop of discouragement and defeats so that you cannot take steps to advance further into your glorious future.

There are times you feel motivated and begin to think you are going to make progress. And then suddenly you are drawn back into this unsurprising pendulum.

You cannot afford to continue oscillating your heart between such states.

    GET YOURSELF OFF THE HOOK!

Stop looking at the wrong pictures.

See as God sees. Don’t allow the success of others to make you feel you are failing. You are in the center of God’s program as long as you walk in the obedience of the word. Even when it seems you have made mistakes, remember this:
    GOD IS RICH IN MERCY!

When the adversary begins to whisper those discouraging thoughts, don’t keep quiet. Fight back with the word of God. You roar the scriptures to yourself and declare:

“Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food,
the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. GOD, the Lord, is my strength; He makes my feet like the deer’s; He makes me tread on my high places.”
     (Habakkuk 3:17-19)

Beloved, GET YOURSELF OFF THE HOOK TODAY!

Step out there and live the life God has called you to live.
Don’t give room for pride, don’t allow the adversary to push you away from your blessed life.
