THE MINDSET OF THE ANOINTED 2

“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound”

    Isaiah 61:1 (KJV)

Beloved in Christ, as you received salvation through faith in Christ, you were also stamped with the Holy Spirit. There is no believer in Christ who is not anointed by God through the Holy Spirit.

In as much as every born-again is anointed by God, it doesn’t mean every believer will automatically achieve greatness.

You must maintain the mindset which makes things happen.

Those who do great things in the Kingdom did not receive greater anointing than those who do nothing.

They were simply intentional about the anointing.

There is no doubt that no believer will be able to accomplish any great thing without the anointing of God’s Spirit. The anointing of God’s Spirit is the ability of God which enables you to do what He has called you to do.

Yesterday’s discussion is to help you understand these three things:

    1. You received the anointing as you got saved and received the Holy Spirit.

    2. Every believer received the same capacity of the anointing.

    3. The anointing doesn’t work automatically. This point has even been reaffirmed at the beginning of this episode.

As an anointed one, you must also have the mindset that the anointing of God is for service. The anointing is not just for personal gain but to fulfill God’s purpose.

This is how you experience the manifestation of the anointing.

Jesus, when He entered the synagogue read a scripture from the book of Isaiah (Luke 4:16-19).

He actually read from Isaiah 61:

“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.” Isaiah 61:1-4 (KJV)

From these verses, you will notice some key items of the anointing.

These things the Prophet Isaiah mentioned give clarity on the impact of the anointing:

    – The operation of the anointing of the Lord through you gives evidence of the Lord’s Spirit upon you. In as much as Jesus came on earth as the Son of God, He ministered through the anointing.

    – One of the key impacts you make with the anointing is preaching the glorious gospel of Jesus. Jesus was also clear on this when He asked His disciples to tarry.
    He said;

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Acts 1:8 (KJV)

This wasn’t an instruction to some special people. It’s an instruction to every disciple of Jesus.

There are some who think the preaching of the Gospel is not for them. That is a wrong mindset. As long as you are anointed of the Lord, you must be a witness of Jesus no matter your career or professional pursuit.

Everyone who believes in Jesus, shares in the outpouring of the Spirit. Peter said to the multitudes on the day of Pentecost:

“For God’s promise of the Holy Spirit is for you and your families, for those yet to be born and for everyone whom the Lord our God calls to Himself.” Acts 2:39 (TPT)

What this means is that anyone who believes in Christ receives the Spirit. And anyone who receives the Spirit must be a witness.

You must be a preacher of good tidings or the goodness of Jesus.

You can be anointed and not be involved in the preaching of the gospel. Such people make the anointing irrelevant. Thus, they also become irrelevant in God’s Kingdom.

    – The anointing makes you a healer or a binder of the broken hearted, or those who are inwardly crashed in pieces. In this crooked and broken generation, there is a need for you (the anointed of the Lord) to take a stand to supply healing to the wounded, depressed and those who are shattered. And this is what the gospel or good news of Jesus does to people. It heals their brokenness.

Also, Jesus came to fulfill this same mandate (Luke 4:21)

And as the Father sent Him, even so, He sends us. (John 20:21).

He has anointed you through the Spirit and sent you into the world in the same capacity the Father sent Him.

    Let this be your mindset.

It’s time to bless your world through the anointing of God’s Spirit.

THE MINDSET OF THE ANOINTED 1

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”

    Acts 10:38 (KJV)

There are people who assume they will automatically accomplish great things just because there is an anointing on their lives.

The anointing of God doesn’t work automatically.

In reality, those who do great things in the Kingdom did not receive greater anointing than those who do nothing.

“Now, it is God Himself who has anointed us. And He is constantly strengthening both you and us in union with Christ” 2 Corinthians 1:21 (TPT)

The anointing is of God’s Spirit.

“But you have an anointing from the Holy One [you have been set apart, specially gifted and prepared by the Holy Spirit], and all of you know [the truth because He teaches us, illuminates our minds, and guards us from error].” 1 John 2:20 (Amplified Bible)

Every believer has the Holy Spirit.

“And because of Him, when you who are not Jews heard the revelation of truth, you believed in the wonderful news of salvation. Now we have been stamped with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit Ephesians 1:13 (TPT)

From the above verses, we can conclude that all believers have received the same measure of the anointing through salvation. The anointing is given even as the Holy Spirit indwells a believer.

Now then does it seem others are more anointed?

It is simply how every believer cultivates the anointing in them. The anointing in you doesn’t work automatically. The anointing of the Holy Spirit must be nurtured and put to work.

You cultivate the anointing in you through prayer and also through service.

Another crucial medium through which the anointing will find expression is your MINDSET.

Your mindset is the means by which you convey the verities of God within your Spirit.

The impact you make is not just about the anointing in you but the mindset you possess. The anointing will respond to your mindset.

The limitations in your mind are the limitations on the anointing in you. The anointing is subject to your mindset. Whatever you are not conceiving, the anointing will not do.

It’s one thing to be anointed and it’s another thing to use the anointing to produce results.

You can be heavily anointed and will not be able to achieve anything big.

You will never achieve great things until you have the mindset for great things.

Whatever you think you cannot do, the anointing will not do.

You cannot have the mindset of impossibility and expect the anointing to automatically do the impossible with you.

The anointing operates at the frequency of your mindset and consciousness. You will not see greater manifestations of healing anointing when you don’t have the mindset to heal the sick.

Jesus went about doing good because He knew what the anointing could do. There are even believers who are not conscious of the anointing in them.

If you are not conscious of the anointing you cannot take advantage of it.

Jesus knew how He was anointed.
He knew what the anointing could do.
He knew how to put the anointing to work.
And He was confident about the anointing.

    See this:

“When he came to Nazareth, where he had been raised, he went into the synagogue, as he always did on the Sabbath day. When Jesus came to the front to read the Scriptures, they handed him the scroll of the prophet Isaiah. He unrolled the scroll and read where it is written, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, and he has anointed me to be hope for the poor, freedom for the brokenhearted, and new eyes for the blind, and to preach to prisoners, ‘You are set free!’ I have come to share the message of Jubilee, for the time of God’s great acceptance has begun.
After he read this he rolled up the scroll, handed it back to the minister, and sat down. Everyone stared at Jesus, wondering what he was about to say. Then he added, “These Scriptures came true today in front of you.
     Luke 4:16-21 (TPT).

    Such an audacious mindset.

No wonder he went about doing good.

Beloved, have the consciousness of the anointing of the Spirit in you. Don’t limit the anointing of God’s Spirit. This anointing is in you to accomplish great things.

The question is not whether the anointing works or not. The question is what is your mindset?

What do you intend to do more with the anointing?

BE IMMERSED IN THE SPIRIT 5

“He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.”

    1 John 2:6 (NKJV)

    Are you born again?

If your answer is yes, then you are in Christ.

When you received Jesus, you became born again. The born again is also the new creation.

The new creation is the man in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17)

To be in Christ is to be in the Spirit.

Thus, if you are in Christ, you must live as Christ.

When you are thinking of being immersed in the Spirit, don’t adopt human techniques and religious methods. As you are in Christ you follow the example of Christ.

The matter of being immersed in the Spirit is not a matter of methods but a new living way.

To be immersed in the Spirit is an organic experience and not mechanical.

That is why you follow the example of Christ.

Christ brought to light the reality of being soaked and saturated by the Spirit.

During Jesus’ Earth Walk, the Pharisees or the religious leaders were demonstrating spirituality according to their self-gratification, man-made rules, religious traditions and legalism.

Everyone saw them as men who were enriched with divine understanding and had high-level experience in the Spirit.

But Jesus said to them, “Making the word of God of no effect through your tradition which you have handed down. And many such things you do” Mark 7:13 (NKJV)

The word of God is organic and cannot find its full expression when mixed with mechanical methods.

To have a real organic experience of the Spirit, you don’t follow religious methods.

Indisputably, one of the crucial items to make one continuously experience the saturation of the Spirit is PRAYER.

However, your understanding and interpretation of prayer really matter.
When prayer is only to prove how spiritual one is, the motives become wrong.

The principle of prayer is the principle of intimate communication. Your understanding of this will help you remain consistent in PRAYER.

The Pharisees and the religious leaders prayed to prove their superiority over others. Prayer was showmanship to them.

However, Jesus showed us that prayer is basically a communion with God.

In most of the recorded prayers of Jesus, you will notice He often referred to God as Father. That was to establish the kind of relationship we are to have with God.

God is your Father and you must commune with Him as such. This is the example of Jesus to us. He showed us to walk consistently in the Spirit by maintaining a consistent relationship and communion with God as our Father.

Until you begin to recognise, understand and become conscious that God is your Father, you will always attempt to use mechanisms to connect to God.

Prayer will become a mechanic method and not an organic expression of your relationship with God.

You will spend more time with your loving Father, and freely share your burdens with Him. The more you spend time with the Father through prayer (intimate communication), the more the Father’s love and presence overwhelm, saturate and soak your heart.

The more you spend time with Him, the more you are immersed into His person and mindset.

Pray to the Father as Jesus did.

    Selah.

    SIGNS OF SPIRITUAL IMMATURITY 1

    (ARE YOU GROWING? 8)

Just as we have FRUIT of a matured life in Christ, there are SIGNS of spiritual immaturity.

Being born again for many years doesn’t make you spiritually matured. You can be attending Church meetings and be serving in a ministry or stewardship department for many years and still not be growing spiritually.
To grow spiritually is a personal decision.
There are certain spiritual habits and mindsets you may cultivate just by being present in an environment of the Word of grace. Because environments or some atmospheres are contagious.

To grow effectively, you don’t have to only depend on the influence of the environment of your local Church. You have to be intentional about your growth in the spirit.

In previous episodes we realised that, your demonstration of the LOVE of GOD is the greatest evidence of your growth in the spirit.
The Love of God does not satisfy the desires of the flesh.
The true motive or intention of the love of God at work in you, is to bless or nourish others without personal interest. This brings all glory to God and not you.
The greatest sign of an immatured life is the INFLUENCE OF THE FLESH.
    From the opening verse:

Brothers and sisters, when I was with you I found it impossible to speak to you as those who are spiritually mature people, for you are still dominated by the mind-set of the flesh. And because you are immature infants in Christ,” 1 Corinthians 3:1 (TPT)

Paul, was speaking to fellow saints (believers in Christ) and not unbelievers. And some of these (if not all) were as babes or infants in Christ.

The evidence of their spiritual immaturity was how they were DOMINATED BY THE MIND-SET OF THE FLESH.
The more you grow in the spirit, the less you are influenced or dominated by the flesh.
    Are you growing?

To which extent are you dominated by the flesh?

    WE PRAY
That our love will grow and increase beyond measure, bringing us into the rich revelation of spiritual insight in all things.
