    …BY THE LOVE OF CHRIST

“Instead, by speaking the truth in a spirit of love, we must grow up in every way to Christ, who is the head.

    Ephesians 4:15 (GNT)

    Your growth determines your manifestation.

You are able to handle situations and impact your world according to your inward growth.
Your growth in your understanding of Christ and consciousness of who you are in Him is your growth in the Spirit.
It is your growth into Christ (in all things, mainly His love) by which you become the complete expression of Him in this world.

You cannot express Christ beyond your level of maturity of growth in the spirit.

The highest proof of your growth or maturity in the Spirit is how you walk in Love.

Your love towards God and towards others reveals how you are deeply rooted in Christ. The more your roots grow deep into the love of Christ, the more you mature or grow in the Spirit.
You can be born again for 10 years and not be mature.
Growing in the Spirit is not automatic, it is intentional.
Organisms don’t just grow healthy. It takes the right nutrients and the supply of other needful elements.

Your mind and heart must be cultivated in the love of God.
One who is growing in the spirit has his/her affection set on the Lord and not on his/her own interests. The love of God dominates your heart and influences your actions.

How consistently do you fellowship with the Spirit and the Word?

Or you must be convinced to have a consistent fellowship with the Spirit and the Word?

How excited are you in your heart concerning the things of God?

How do you love the brethren?
Are you bitter, envious, angry and holding on to an offense?

When you are deeply rooted in the love of God,  bitterness, envy and offenses cannot have any place in your heart (because they are fruits or expressions of the self).
The more you grow or mature in the Lord, the more the self is subdued by the love of Christ.

    PERSONALIZE THE LOVE OF CHRIST

“Lying back on Jesus’ chest was one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved.”

John 13:23 (New American Standard Bible)

One glorious identity you can have is not the job you do, the title you bear, the things you have accomplished; but the reality that you are loved by Jesus.

The love of Christ is not limited to one person or a group of people.

The love of Christ reaches all and is available for all. His love is unconditional, unquenchable, unfailing, intense, extensive, expansive and unending.

Jesus in His earthly walk loved everyone, and that was why He died for all men.

John (the apostle of Jesus), the author of the “Gospel of John” personalized Christ’s love for him.

The Gospel of John is known as the revelation of the divinity of Jesus. However, it is also the Book focused on the revelation of the Love of God.

John the apostle wrote about the love of God for the world (see John 3:16). And how Christ also has a special love for His own who are in the world (John 13:1).

He unveiled the fellowship of love in the Godhead, as in the Father’s love for the Son. The Lord shares this same love with His disciples (John 15:9).

Jesus loves the world, yet He loves His disciples and has a deeper fellowship with them.

John wrote how Jesus loved Lazarus and his sisters (Mary and Martha). He even wept when Lazarus died, and the people who saw him said, “See how He loves him”. (John 11:5, 35-36).

So clearly, John the apostle knew the scope and extensiveness of the love of Christ. However, he personalized the love Christ has for him.

For about five times in his Gospel account of Jesus, he identified himself as the disciple whom Jesus loved.

    (See the following verses, John 13:23; 19:26; 20:2; 21:7, 20).

John didn’t only write about how Jesus loved him, he also wrote about how he related to Jesus.

In the Gospel of John, we see that he related to Jesus as his Father. John didn’t connect to Jesus only as his master. He exudes the confidence of one who is loved.

While all the disciples were dining with Jesus, John writes how he was lying on Jesus’ chest.

    Wow…

John lying on the chest or bosom of the King of Glory?

    Let me ask you:

Do you have the same level of confidence in the love of Christ?

How do you see yourself when you think about Jesus?

Do you think you are among all the innumerable company of saints?

Or do you think you are the one Jesus loves?

This is not about esteeming yourself above others. This is not about being loved because of your deeds.

The confidence in Christ’s love for you must be dependent on who Christ is and the richness of His love.

He loves you personally. Among the multitudes, He still loves you as though you are the only one He sees.

    Personalize the love of Christ.

“I AM THE DISCIPLE WHOM JESUS LOVES”

    Glory to God!!!
