    GO BEYOND THE SHORES

“God’s wisdom is something mysterious that goes deep into the interior of his purposes. You don’t find it lying around on the surface. It’s not the latest message, but more like the oldest—what God determined as the way to bring out his best in us, long before we ever arrived on the scene.”

    1 Corinthians 2:8 (MSG)

A man who communes with the Holy Spirit has access to the riches of the Wisdom of God.

No one immersed in God and His wisdom struggles to make the right decisions at any point in life.

There is no confusion in a man who has handled the depths of divine wisdom. Deep understanding is granted to a man who continues to behold the Lord.

You will never find God’s wisdom by surfing around. You access God’s wisdom in the depths of His heart.

You must develop the habit of staying long in your communion with God.

The more you continue to stay longer, the more you are enriched with the influences of the Spirit.

    STAY LONG! DON’T RUSH.

To some, staying long in the place of prayer and communion with the Lord is tedious work.

Whatever and whoever you love takes your time and attention effortlessly.

As you are struggling to stay in the place of prayer and ministering to the Lord, are you sure the Love of God is kindled in your heart?

Communing with God is an unforceful rhythm when it is centered on the love of God.

The Holy Spirit is the best partner for the fulfilment of your destiny.

And even “the Spirit of God, not content to flit around on the surface, dives into the depths of God, and brings out what God planned all along” 1 Corinthians 2:10 (MSG).

He searches all things diligently, even the profound depths of God.

This means that having the Holy Spirit in you doesn’t mean you automatically understand the depths of God. You must also dive and search deeply into the heart of the Spirit to glean the riches of His wisdom.

There are things concerning your life which God has set in Himself long before you arrived on the scene. And as you commune with the Spirit, He grants you access and mastery of things God has already designed for you.

Stop being satisfied with the sand bathing. Go beyond the shores of the Spirit, and dive deep into the ocean of the Spirit to experience and enjoy the wisdom of God.

No king can rule and exercise dominion without a dimension of wisdom.

“God conceals the revelation of his word in the hiding place of his glory. But the honor of kings is revealed by how they thoroughly search out the deeper meaning of all that God says. The heart of a king is full of understanding, like the heavens are high and the ocean is deep.” Proverbs 25:2-3 (TPT)

You are called to lead your generation and, therefore, increase in understanding.

“Like the horizons for breadth and the ocean for depth, the understanding of a good leader is broad and deep.” Proverbs 25:3 (MSG).

There are divine depths of wisdom which may not be understood by books. You only come to the understanding of it by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

“We don’t have to rely on the world’s guesses and opinions. We didn’t learn this by reading books or going to school; we learned it from God, who taught us person-to-person through Jesus, and we’re passing it on to you in the same firsthand, personal way.” 1 Corinthians 2:13 (MSG).

There is an understanding that comes to you only in communion with the Lord.

Dive deeper into the Lord through fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

    Glory to God.

THE FIERY DARTS OF THE WICKED 2 —

PUT ON THE SHIELD OF FAITH 7

“Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”

    Ephesians 6:16 (KJV)

The schemes of the adversary are his weapons designed to shipwreck the faith of the saints. His schemes are mainly to exploit the weaknesses or the inconsistencies of the brethren. He also takes advantage of the voice of every individual’s flesh to manipulate their thoughts and actions.

As I have already mentioned, the fiery darts of the enemy include unforgiveness, bitterness, offences, displeasure, disappointment, fear, lies, mistakes, failures, absence of testimonies, self-esteem, jealousy, etc.

These flammable arrows may be subtle and may start as harmless thoughts or through a harmless incidence, but when they are not intentionally or promptly and explosively extinguished, they will gradually creep into your heart and cause an emotional breakdown.

Sometimes things you will laugh about in the heat of a moment will later become the reason you feel hurt and offended.

    How does it happen?

The adversary subtly begins to whisper and induce a perspective you didn’t consider. Suddenly, you begin to feel angry and offended over something you initially laughed over. He draws your attention and causes the new negative perspective to become your meditation. The more you meditate on it, the more you become offended and bitter.

You may think you are doing the right thing by giving a forensic look at the situation. But that is not what is really happening. The adversary is attacking your heart using the situation.

Such attacks from the adversary are poisonous and can even crush your bones physically.

Sometimes you may think it is your right not to forgive. You may even say “I have forgiven” but you know deep within you haven’t forgiven. Or will even tell yourself, “How many times should I forgive?; Am I the only one to forgive?”.

Unforgiveness or holding on to an offence is a destructive weapon of the enemy.

Look at what Paul the apostle had to say to the Church in Corinth:

“So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow. Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him. To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ; Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.”
    2 Corinthians 2:9-11 (KJV)

From the above verses, we see Paul asking the brethren to forgive a fellow who had done some wrong. He then explained the reason for forgiving:

One of the devices of Satan is to use or take advantage of unforgiveness.

Read the verse 11 from the Living Bible:

“A further reason for forgiveness is to keep from being outsmarted by Satan, for we know what he is trying to do.”(2 Corinthians 2:11).

When you are unforgiving, the adversary will outsmart you with his devices. He finds an opportunity to attack the saints when they are offended, bitter and unforgiving.

Don’t see any of these reactions or emotional trouble you keep having as natural consequences. They are arrows of the adversary shot at you.

Make it your priority to walk in love as Jesus loved all men. Even when He hanged naked on the cross, before His death (while the soldiers gambled for His clothes); He said, “Father forgive them…” (Luke 23:34)

Faith works through love (Galatians 5:6)

As you forgive others as Christ has forgiven you, you learn to SHIELD UP BY FAITH against the arrows of bitterness, offences, anger and sorrow.

    SHIELD UP!

    BOAST IN HIS LOVE

“We love, because He first loved us”

1 John 4:19 (New American Standard Bible)

Have you ever felt you have to prove your love to God before you are accepted by Him?

As you have seen in the opening verse, you didn’t first love the Lord; He first loved you.

Your love for the Lord is dependent on His love for you. It was when He demonstrated His love to you that love was dispensed into your heart.

Your confidence should always be in God’s love for you, not your love.

The Love of God is unconditional, unquenchable, unfailing and unending.

“Long ago the LORD said to Israel: “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself” Jeremiah 31:3 (NLT)

You don’t define or determine God’s love for you by how you live towards Him. God is love, and His love is determined by Himself.

His love towards you governs your love towards Him and others. This is why you must increase in the understanding of His love.

God doesn’t need your righteousness to love you. He doesn’t need your works to love you. He doesn’t need your effective prayers to love you. When you had no thought of Him  He was there thinking of you.

“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” Romans 5:8 (NLT)

You have always been the focus of His love.

Whatever you do in the Lord, with the Lord and for the glory of God must be founded on His love for you.

No matter how you think or know you love the Lord, let His love for you be your boast.

    Shalom

THE BREASTPLATE OF LOVE AND FAITH VERSUS THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS –

The Complete Armor Of God 13

“Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness

    Ephesians 6:14 (KJV)

    We have patiently looked at:

What the breastplate of righteousness is, how to put on the breastplate of righteousness and how it works.

The need for the breastplate of righteousness amidst the attacks of the adversary.

How you cannot depend on your self-righteousness.

How the LORD, Christ Jesus, sustained Himself in His work of salvation by putting on the breastplate of righteousness; and how He has become our righteousness.

However, there is a way Paul the Apostle explained the breastplate in his epistle to the Thessalonians:

“But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.” 1 Thessalonians 5:8 (NKJV)

One may quickly assume there is a contradiction between 1 Thessalonians 5:8 and what he mentioned in Ephesians 6:14, “having on the breastplate of righteousness”.

Remember, the Bible does not contradict itself.
The books of the Bible progressively unveil the absolute revelation of God.

Concerning the gears or equipment in the Lord’s armor, there are no contradictions. The absolute meanings of the armor of God are clearly given.

The soldier’s belt consistently represents truth in the believer’s gears.

Salvation consistently serves as the believer’s helmet in Christ (we will be looking into that closely in the next episodes).

Righteousness consistently serves as the believer’s breastplate.

It wasn’t just Paul the apostle who referred to righteousness as a breastplate.

The Prophet Isaiah also recognized righteousness as a breastplate:

“…so his own arm achieved salvation for him, and his own righteousness sustained him. He put on righteousness as his breastplate, and the helmet of salvation on his head… Isaiah 59:16-17 (NKJV)

In all three verses of the Bible (Isaiah 59:17; Ephesians 6:17; 1 Thessalonians 5:8) Salvation serves as a helmet in the armor of God.

This means that the breastplate of faith and love (in 1 Thessalonians 5:8) also points to righteousness.

In interpreting a Biblical concept, you must also observe how the author consistently interprets symbols and items or objects.

For example, in the Gospels, John consistently used water as a symbol of the life-dispensing flow of the Spirit. This means you must maintain that perspective whenever you are reading John’s writings.

You must have the same understanding as to the writings of the other Biblical authors (except in some exceptional contexts).

There are two key items which produced the righteousness of God in you.

    1. Love
    2. Faith

God legally supplied His righteousness to us by giving us His son. The entire process of Christ’s death and resurrection is the workings of the wisdom and the love of God.

Until Jesus died and was raised, His righteousness wouldn’t have been made available and dispensed to us.

The death of Jesus is the evidence of the love of God.

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (NKJV)

The Lord has demonstrated His love by making it possible for us to receive His righteousness. We cannot receive His righteousness by our good deeds. We receive His righteousness through faith in Him.

“For no person will be justified [freed of guilt and declared righteous] in His sight by [trying to do] the works of the Law. For through the Law we become conscious of sin [and the recognition of sin directs us toward repentance, but provides no remedy for sin]… This righteousness of God comes through faith in Jesus Christ for all those [Jew or Gentile] who believe [and trust in Him and acknowledge Him as God’s Son]. There is no distinction Romans 3:20,22 (Amplified Bible)

Beloved the love of God and His faith within our hearts are the items that caused the righteousness of God to germinate within our hearts.

Thus, the breastplate of Love and Faith = the breastplate of righteousness.

    I believe this blessed you.

    Glory to God!

TAKE OFF THE ILL-FITTING LOADS 2

“But now, after that, ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?”

    Galatians 4:9  (KJV)

One of the key things you must understand is that, when you came into Christ, you were brought into a life of Rest and not under another yoke of religion.

Jesus is not a religious leader. He is God who became flesh to bring us into the reality of life. (1 Timothy 3:16)

God’s intention for man has always been to make His Life germinate in man, that man will be His expression.

When you cultivate the Life of God in you, you will live in REST.

The REST I am talking about here is not how you cease from work or movement in order to relax or sleep.

When you come into Christ, you are brought into Rest.

This rest is living according to the divine essence in you. It is living above the anxiety, burden, fear and condemnation of the Old Covenant law and the demands you place upon yourself through other worthless religious principles and philosophies.

In the opening verse, Galatians 4:9, Paul spoke of weak and beggarly elements; the question is what are these weak and beggarly elements Paul was speaking of?

These weak and beggarly elements are the worthless principles of religion and philosophies.

These include paganism, the bondage of Jewish rituals and ordinances, and also baseless or empty scientific philosophies designed by men to oppose the reality of God.

If you are reading this and you are not born again, understand Jesus came not to introduce you to a new religion called “Christianity”. This is how most people see Christianity. They assume it’s one of the religious groups. They are not to be blamed, some ecclesiastical caucus have made religion out of what should be the dispensing of life.

Jesus came to translate you into the reality of the Kingdom life of God.

Read what He said and He is saying the same thing to you now:

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11:28-30 (Message)

Jesus came to bring you rest from all your efforts to be righteous or justified. He came to take off the burdens or entrapments of superstitions, taboos and regulations of religion.

Jesus came to usher you into a new – living way of peace and fulfilment of life.

If you are reading this and you are born again, rejoice and remain confident in the reality of Jesus. He has brought you into true rest.

Don’t be lured to think living by grace is not enough. Don’t place any yoke of religious duties upon yourself.

Just as Paul said to the brethren in Colosse:

“See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception [pseudo-intellectual babble], according to the tradition [and musings] of mere men, following the elementary principles of this world, rather than following [the truth—the teachings of] Christ.” Colossians 2:8 (Amplified)

Remain resolute in the teachings of Christ. Set your mind and affection on the revelation of Jesus. Refused to be swayed by some pseudo-intellectual babble.

Enjoy your true and intimate relationship with the Father, which is founded on His unconditional love and not religious regulations and deceptive philosophies.
