You cannot say you have faith and be silent. Faith speaks! To act in faith is to act according to God’s word, and God is not silent. Even in His silence, there is a message. Do you believe what God says? Then you must speak forth His word with boldness.
    Apostle Bennie
    Author

All through time, man couldn’t fully have access to dwell and enjoy the Lord’s presence in its fullness.

So He decided to tabernacle among men so that He would assimilate as many as believe in Him, into Himself.

This is why God came to dwell among us through the WORD (who is Jesus the Word made flesh).

“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us…” John 1:14.

To dwell among us means the Word made His HOME among us. It also means He TABERNACLED among us. This is for us to have access to the Lord.

“How greatly to be envied are those you have chosen to come and live with you within the holy tabernacle courts! What joys await us among all the good things there.” Psalm 65:4 (TLB)

Now we have access to the Lord’s presence or inner chamber through Christ Jesus.

    What a joy!

BELOVED, don’t permit anything to distract you from enjoying the glorious things in the Lord’s presence.

PRACTICAL WAYS TO HONOUR YOUR LEADERS 5 – Receive them with Joy 2

“Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness, and hold such men in esteem”

    Philippians 2:29 (KJV)

Receiving your leaders through a great and special hospitality because of their reputation is one practical way.

There is another practical way of receiving your leaders that you must give attention to; receiving them in the name of the one who sent them.

Your Leaders are not Jesus Christ our Lord, but they are specially appointed, ordained and sent men of the Lord Jesus Christ.

These leaders did not send themselves; they were sent by the Lord with a special grace to fulfill His assignment.

“Those who welcome you are welcoming me. And when they welcome me they are welcoming God who sent me. If you welcome a prophet because he is a man of God, you will be given the same reward a prophet gets. And if you welcome good and godly men because of their godliness, you will be given a reward like theirs.” Matthew 10:40-41 (TLB)

These words of Jesus point out two crucial things:

    – How you receive a leader the Lord has sent to you, is how you have received the Lord. The Lord sees your hospitality towards your leaders as hospitality towards Him. This means you must see the leaders God has set over you as men from God who must be given special reception.

    – The second item is that you must acknowledge, accept, welcome and receive your leader in the capacity of his commission or calling. The commission or assignment of the Lord entrusted to a man has a reward which shall benefit or serve for your advantage. Every mandate comes with a reward, and so receive them in the capacity of their mandate.

As part of receiving the leaders sent by God to you, you must listen to the words of the Lord.

When you don’t receive or even reject them, you have rejected the Lord (See Luke 10:16).

“Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.” 1 Corinthians 4:1 (Amplified Bible).

This was how Paul the apostle was instructing the saints in Corinth to regard himself and Apollos. Paul the apostle did not expect the brethren to regard them as mere men preaching the gospel but as ministers or servants of Christ. They are to see them as stewards, custodians or administrators of the mysteries of Christ.

You will always receive and honour your leaders by how you see their mandate to you.

Though we are equal by what Christ has obtained for us, we are not equal in the administration of God’s grace.

Honour those the Lord has set over you. Submit your mind to the nurturing of your leaders.

How do you see the commission or assignment of your leader?

Until you see the extraordinary grace of God at work in him and recognize him as a man sent from God, you will connect with or regard him as an ordinary person.

The special anointing to carry out a divine assignment distinguishes men.

    OUTSOURCE YOUR ANXIETY

“Throw the whole of your anxiety upon Him, because He Himself cares for you.”

1 Peter 5:7 (Weymouth New Testament)

No matter the level you get to in your walk with God, the adversary won’t stop to oppose you with challenges.

The corruption of this world creates waves of anxiety and distress.

And many believers become victims of such circumstances.

Whether you operate from your comfort zone or out of your comfort zone, there is always going to be something which may create anxiety around you.

You may be in some form of distress even as you are reading this episode of Machaira with Apostle Bennie. You may be feeling afraid about the future, about your relationship and even about your job.

Maybe you are in some debt and are troubled about how things will turn up.

The more you find yourself in this state of worry or anxiety, the more you draw back in faith.

The adversary always wants to find the believer in a state of anxiety and worry.

No matter the weight of your challenge or how bad your situation is, do you know God doesn’t want you to be anxious?

Paul the apostle admonished the Church in Philippi:

“Be anxious for nothing…” (Philippians 4:6)

Though you may be confronted by challenges or some tough times, it is possible to live without worry, anxiety and distress.

The secret is this: amid your challenges, you can outsource your anxiety.

When you learn to outsource your anxiety, you walk in peace and joy.

Most parents will understand this better. Though children have needs, they don’t even know they do have needs.

All they think about is, their parents will make provision for them. Have you ever seen a child anxious about what he or she will eat the next day?

A child worried about such responsibility is probably born to irresponsible parents. But no baby has such luxury of time to worry.

In fact, they don’t even have the intelligence to worry about how to meet their needs. They just know they have to demand for what they want. Babies outsource their anxiety.

When it comes to your needs be like a child. You have a heavenly Father who cares for you more than you care about yourself.

As you can see in the opening verse:

“Throw the whole of your anxiety upon Him, because He Himself cares for you.”

Stop being anxious and start throwing or casting all your cares and anxiety on the Lord.

This is how the Amplified Bible puts it:

“casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]” 1 Peter 5:7 (Amplified Bible).

    Wow!

See, your Heavenly Father cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].

Why then do you hold on to your cares? He doesn’t even want you to share your worries and concerns. He wants you to cast all to Him. He wants to bear you up. He wants you to outsource it to Him.

Let God take care of your worry, as you enjoy His love and satisfaction.

Stop holding on to all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all.

Turn to God in prayer. Make all your requests with faith (absolute confidence in God) in your heart that the Lord will answer you completely.

This was the posture of David:

“The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.” (Psalm 34:15)

The cry of the righteous is not a mere emotional breakdown as a result of overwhelming worries and anxiety. This cry is a confident call unto God for help. It is to turn all your worries to God in prayer.

“The eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer” Psalm 34:15 (Brenton Septuagint Translation)

Stop worrying and start praying. Pray over everything no matter how little it may seem to be.

    Hallelujah!

    CARTWHEELS OF JOY 1

“I’m singing joyful praise to God. I’m turning cartwheels of joy to my Savior God.”

    Habakkuk 3:18 (MSG)

You just can’t live the higher life of faith when you are dependent on situations or circumstances.

Your life is not defined by what happens to you. Your life is defined by your SOURCE.

The question is, who or what is your source?

    Who do you depend on?

Through whom do you find the true meaning of your life?

The life of the born again is defined by the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ.

You don’t define your life by the circumstances surrounding you. The challenges you face are not to determine the state of your heart.

Your joy and peace must not be dependent on your present situation. Your joy and peace is in Christ. Which means, they have eternal value. That is not the value and longevity of your present challenges or situation.

Your circumstances don’t have eternal value. It doesn’t matter how they come, they will pass away.

Just this book title by Robert Shuller reprogrammed my mindset:
“Tough Times Never Last, But Tough People Do!”

I said to myself, “If tough times never last, then I don’t have to be controlled by these times.”

No wonder Paul never saw himself as a Prisoner in Rome. He always referred to himself as a Prisoner of Christ. He was never limited by those chains and the walls of the prison.

“Now I want you to know, brothers, that my circumstances have actually served to advance the gospel.” Philippians 1:12 (Bereans Standard Bible)

So he said to the Philippians, “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice” (Philippians 4:4).

    What a mindset!

Habakkuk the Prophet found himself in a dilemma, which made him misunderstand God at a point. When he saw the cruelty of the Chaldeans against the Israelites, he felt God had refused to help. (Habakkuk 1:2-4;  2:1)

You may find yourself in a situation and begin to feel God has left you and your family. You may seem to be angry with God or doubt his word. The adversary takes delight in such thoughts of doubt towards God.

The adversary sees and capitalizes on your misunderstanding of God to lock you up in your lowest ebb.

Habakkuk was troubled by the sufferings of his people. But being troubled wasn’t the solution. When Habakkuk turned away from his dilemma to focus on the Saving grace of the Lord, an atmosphere of joy sprung up.

He said in his Faith Hymn:

“Though the fig tree does not blossom
And there is no fruit on the vines,
Though the yield of the olive fails
And the fields produce no food,
Though the flock is cut off from the fold
And there are no cattle in the stalls,
    Yet I will [choose to] rejoice in the Lord;
I will [choose to] shout in exultation in the [victorious] God of my salvation!”
     Habakkuk 3:17-18 (Amplified).

    Oh, glory to God!
What is your composure amidst your failures?

You are not sorrowful or joyful because of your situation. You are sorrowful or joyful by choice.

Don’t turn to God with complaints.

By faith behold the saving grace of the Lord and turn cartwheels of joy and praise to your Savior. Your true tranquillity and rest are in God. Therefore rejoice in the Lord!

    Hallelujah!

    CHRIST COMMONWEALTH-COMMUNITY

JESUS SERVES THE BEST WINE 2

“and told him, “Everyone serves the best wine first, and the cheap kind when people are drunk. But you have kept the best wine until now!”

    John 2:10 (ISV)

The process of making a good and quality wine in ancient Israel takes about 20 to 30 years.

To produce the wine, grapes were pressed in the winepress and left in a collection keg for some days, as it goes through a fermentation process.

Yet at the wedding in Cana, Jesus produces the best quality wine just within a few minutes.

This was a compression of time.

Consider the season of planting and harvesting grapes, all through the process of extracting wine from the grapes to the fermentation process. And it wasn’t a burden for the Lord Jesus.

Just instructing the servants to fill the water jars, He made the best wine.

“And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.”
    John 2:3-10 (KJV)

The text tells us the tradition at Jewish weddings: they’d first serve their guests with the best wine, then when that wine is gone, the inferior wine is served.

This means, at this particular wedding, the best wine was already served. This was the best wine which has been produced through the labour of men over the years. And yet after Jesus had produced His wine (through the miraculous compression of time and space), even the master or governor of the banquet affirmed that the latter wine he was served, was better than the best wine earlier served.

The best of man will always not be at the level of what comes out of God through faith.

Does it look like you are at the end of yourself and you think there is no way out of the situation you are in?

It doesn’t matter how bad your condition is, JESUS SERVES THE BEST WINE.

In the previous episode, I explained that one of the significance of wine is to depict gladness or a joyful life.

For Mary to say “They have no wine” also means, “They have no joy“.

Which situation has taken out joy in your home or family?

Which situation has taken away joy in your academics or work?

Which situation has taken out your joy in serving the Lord?

Jesus serves the best wine without stress, TRUST HIM.

In the first part of this discussion, I shared two basic items you need, to experience the miraculous.

Always acknowledge the presence of Jesus in your life. The Lord is in your life to bring divine satisfaction. Don’t allow your challenges to break you. Don’t allow certain delays in your life to distract you. Remain focused on the Lord.

Jesus will turn that situation around unto the glory of God.

When Jesus turned the water into wine, His glory was seen.

The Lord is causing His glory to be seen in your Life. He is going to satisfy you with the best of Himself.

    Hallelujah!
