TRAIN YOUR MIND TO SEE THE RIGHT RESULTS

“And the LORD said to Joshua: “See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor.”

    Joshua 6:2 (NKJV)

To fulfill ministry and accomplish great things may seem to be challenging. Others are sometimes discouraged by the magnitude of the task.

God doesn’t just want you to move into action.

Accomplishing great things for the Lord doesn’t just come from trying to do something.
You must have the right vision if you want to accomplish your task or hit your target.

Your ability to do more begins with what you see and how you see what you see.

Oftentimes, the Lord charges His people to see.

This is because you cannot experience what you have not seen with your heart or the spirit of your mind.

To take over a city or win a town for Jesus through the gospel, you must first SEE!

You cannot transform lives and bless your school, institution, or workplace until you see with the spirit of your mind.

You must see your healing testimony. You must see the growth of your business. You must see your new level of impact.

Look at what God said to Joshua:

“And the LORD said to Joshua: “See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor.” Joshua 6:2 (NKJV).

This was a charge to Joshua to activate the power of his imagination.

    Your imagination influences your possessions.

This was the same thing God said to Abraham and Moses:

“I am giving all this land, as far as you can see, to you and your descendants as a permanent possession.” Genesis 13:15 (NLT).

    Oh, glory!

Abraham’s possession was dependent on His vision. If Abraham had seen just a small portion, that was what he would have had. If Abraham had seen the whole world, that was what He was going to have.

“See, I have set the land before you; go in and possess the land which the LORD swore to your fathers—to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—to give to them and their descendants after them.” Deuteronomy 1:8 (NKJV)

Beloved, which results are you seeing now?

These are not some words of encouragement. I am talking to you about a divine principle that works. You cannot accomplish anything beyond what you have SEEN.

Jesus said, “…lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest.” John 4:35

Train your mind to see the right results.

When you begin to see images you don’t want, shift your mind from them and redirect your imagination to the glorious pictures and results the Lord has deposited in your spirit.

This is why you must study the Word and pray in tongues. When you pray, the Lord shows you visions. He unveils to your heart great and mighty things (Jeremiah 33:3)

    Hallelujah.

Don’t allow your emotions to lead you. Your emotion or the deep seat of your desire has been exposed to the corruptibility of the flesh before you got born again. The flesh has always had its way of governing or influencing the soul of a man. A man’s soul includes the will, the mind and the emotions. For you to express God, your mind must be renewed by the word, your will must submit to God’s will and your emotions must be immersed and trained with the deep desires of God. Selah!

    SIXTEEN PROJECTILES TO INTERCEPT 9

“so that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs.”

    2 Corinthians 2:11(ESV)

The adversary doesn’t stop until he is resisted. Your resistance to the devil is not what brings you victory.

To resist the devil is to enforce the victory that Christ has obtained for you.

Victory is your inheritance in Christ. Your responsibility is to enjoy that victory and not permit any force of darkness to derail you.

The goal of the devil is to disrupt your enjoyment of Christ’s victory for you, by using all his schemes to shipwreck your faith.

I have mentioned Nine (9) of the Sixteen (16) Projectiles of the Devil already in previous episodes. These include:

The 10th Deadly Projectile of the devil is:

    DEADLINESS.

Most believers don’t think it’s possible they can find themselves in this state. Which is understandable, considering what Christ has achieved for the new creation.

The reality of the Born Again is this:

“that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)” Ephesians 2:5 (NLT)

The life which the born again received is the New creation life or the Newness of Life. But until the saving grace of Jesus, the man who got saved was dead in sin.

This was also your state. Until you were saved in Christ, you were dead in sin. It was by the grace of God that you have been quickened or made alive in Christ. This was not the quickening of your mind. It was the quickening of your spirit.

When you got born again, the life of God was transfused into your spirit. And by the continuous culturing and nurturing of your mind through the Word of God and the intimacy of the Holy Spirit, you experience transformation through the renewal of your mind.

“Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.” Romans 12:2 (TPT)

The more you experience the renewal of mind the more you experience transformation and inwardly become effective in the things of Christ.

When you are not experiencing a renewal of mind, you will start becoming dull in the things pertaining to Christ.

Instead of growing in the knowledge of Christ and becoming more fervent in spirit, your mind rather imitates the ideals and opinions of the culture around you.

This leads to the deadness of your mind.

The deadness of your mind is to lose interest in the things of Christ. To be dead in the mind is to be saved but think like an unbeliever. These are people who behave like unsaved.

There are some Christians who are not just dull in spirit but dead in their minds. Yes, they are born again; baptised in the Holy Spirit but are carnal.

“For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” Romans 8:6 (KJV)

Dullness in spirit will always lead to carnality or deadness of mind when not corrected immediately.

When the adversary succeeds at luring you into this phase or state of mind, he doesn’t have to suggest thoughts any more to you. You will oppose the things of God by your own imagination and pride.

At this stage, you will esteem your thoughts above the truth of the scriptures.

The way out of such a state is to decide to humble yourself before the Lord.

If you are in this state where you are governed by your flesh and pride, you must turn to Jesus and submit to the authority of the Word.

Are you beginning to act contrary to the word of God?

Are you losing interest in the things of Christ?

You don’t even see the usefulness of Church meetings?

Are you esteeming the activities of this world above the study of the Word and staying patiently to be taught in Church?

It’s time to make a decision to be yielded and submissive to the instructions of Christ.

    Shalom!

    Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the opportunity to grow in your word and be renewed in my mind unto total transformation. I pray that through the training of your word, I will always live in accordance with the revelation of the Newness of life in the name of Jesus.

    HEARING GOD’S VOICE 26 –

THE VOICE OF GOD Versus YOUR IMAGINATION 3

“I will hear what God the LORD will speak, for He will speak peace to His people and to His saints; But let them not turn back to folly”

    Psalm 85:8 (NKJV)

From the point I have made through this discussion, you will understand that a person’s imagination can be a channel or conduit of the Voice of God or it can also be a limitation of the voice of the Lord.

When a person is born again, submits his mind to the training of the word of God, and is continuously renewed in the mind, his imagination becomes consistent with God’s thoughts.

When your imagination is fully influenced and developed by the word of God, it can perfectly transmit divine thoughts.

Such a mind does not reject the thoughts of God but rather rejects the thoughts of deception.

“Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Ephesians 4:22-23 (NLT)

The more you spend time daily to have intimate communion with the Lord, your mind is cultured and programmed to acknowledge the rhythm of God’s speaking. Within the frame of your imagination, you are able to determine which frequency of thoughts or portraits of ideas are of God and the ones that are not of God, because of the richness of the Word of God in you.

The point basically is this, God speaks to you through several proven mediums, but primarily through His word. One of these other proven mediums is your shaped mind, which is your imagination.

When your mind is renewed you can rightly discern the voice of the flesh from the voice of the Lord through your imagination.

The voice of the flesh is the communication of your selfish desires or physical feelings. The voice of the flesh makes you do what pleases or fulfill your gratification.

Your wrong actions come from the imagination of your heart.

God doesn’t put any wrong desire in a person’s heart.

“Don’t let anyone under pressure to give in to evil say, “God is trying to trip me up.” God is impervious to evil, and puts evil in no one’s way. The temptation to give in to evil comes from us and only us. We have no one to blame but the leering, seducing flare-up of our own lust. Lust gets pregnant, and has a baby: sin! Sin grows up to adulthood, and becomes a real killer.” James 1:13-15 (Message Bible).

Through your thoughts, you conceive evil desires before it manifests as sin.

Read the verse in the Easy English Bible:

“It is our own thoughts that make us do bad things. When we want to do something wrong, our thoughts lead us in a bad way. We may agree to do what our bad thoughts tell us to do. When we do that, it becomes a sin. Then, we may not stop doing those bad things. If we continue to live like that, the result of our sins is death” James 1:14-15.

Now when your mind is renewed such thoughts can be pulled down by the revelation of the word of God.

“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” 2 Corinthians 10:5 (KJV)

The word for imagination in Greek is, “logismos” which means the computation of reason or a conceit. Any reasoning of the mind which is not consistent with the knowledge of God must be cast down or pulled down. This is not done gently but violently. The Greek word is “katheireō”, which means to demolish something violently.

Your imagination must be the pathway for God’s thoughts and communication. Don’t give room for any wrong imagery to have a pass in your imagination. You have to crush those thoughts before they take root.

Let your imagination mirror inspirations transmitted to your heart through the speaking of the Holy Spirit in your heart, and the communication of the Word of God.

This is a beautiful thing about your renewed mind through the Word:

You are transformed into the image of God in Christ and you are able to discern the perfect will of God. (Romans 12:2)

    HEARING GOD’S VOICE 23 –

THE VOICE OF GOD Versus YOUR IMAGINATION 2

“I will hear what God the LORD will speak, for He will speak peace to His people and to His saints; But let them not turn back to folly”

    Psalm 85:8 (NKJV)

By God’s work in man, there shouldn’t have been a struggle between the voice of the Lord and man’s imagination.

“God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them” (Genesis 1:27).

God designed man to become His expression. There is no way man can express God without his inward essence and thoughts, reflecting God’s thoughts, intentions and essence.

Man’s imagination was to mirror the imprints of God’s intentions.

The adversary understood the power of man’s imagination. He knew that anything man would do had much to do with his imagination. He could not corrupt God’s work in man without first changing man’s identity consciousness or image of self.

The expansiveness of your imagination is built on the consciousness of your identity. The moment you lose the truth of your identity, you will develop the wrong imagination of yourself and your environment.

So he said to the woman through the serpent:

“And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3:4-5 (KJV)

    Ye shall be as gods…?

Why would they fall for this deception?

God made them in His image!

They were given the ability to replenish, subdue, and rule the earth, thus, they were made to be the kings or governors of the earth.

The corruption of man’s spirit began with how they allowed their minds to be reshaped through the deception of the adversary. Man was now able to imagine wrongly because of the identity crisis the adversary succeeded in creating in him.

When your imagination becomes corrupt your action will be corrupt. The thing is, imagination is a prelude to action. Man’s imagination was corrupted and he developed the inclination to do evil and to only fabricate an action for self-gratification.

Until a person becomes born again, his imagination is not able to perfectly transmit divine thoughts.

His mind rejects the thoughts of God, and he sets himself as an enmity of God.

    The Psalmist asked:

“Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?” Psalms 2:1 (KJV)

The Hebrew word translated as “imagine” in the verse is, “hâgâh”. We know the word to mean “meditate” or to murmur (in pleasure or anger); by implication to ponder, (mutter, roar, sore, speak, study, talk, utter).

“Hâgâh” explains some key items of imagination. To first create a mental picture, one has to ponder and brood over a thought till it becomes irresistibly tangible in the mind. Then it generates a corresponding action for an expected outcome.

From the second Psalm, you will see that the nations imagined or plotted a vain thing because of the corruption of their minds. Their inclined mind influenced their decision and action. Which was a demonstration of the enmity towards God and His Kingdom (Psalm 2:1-3).

However, when a person becomes born again, the Newness of life and the ability of God which is transfused into him begin to create the need to accept and to mirror God’s thoughts and intentions.

Now this is God’s message to the saints in Christ:

“Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.” Ephesians 4:22-23 (NLT)

The born-again must submit his mind and thoughts to be renewed by the Spirit of the Lord and the revelation of the Scriptures. When your mind is renewed by the word of God, your imagination will not become a hindrance to what God is saying to you. A mind shaped by the Word of God becomes a pathway for the voice of the Lord.

    HEARING GOD’S VOICE 24 –

THE VOICE OF GOD Versus YOUR IMAGINATION 1

“I will hear what God the LORD will speak, for He will speak peace to His people and to His saints; But let them not turn back to folly”

    Psalm 85:8 (NKJV)

To grasp the details of this discussion, you have to patiently go through all the parts of this series.

I have given some clues to help you perceive God’s voice. But you must understand that these are not necessarily formulas or scientific methods for hearing God’s voice.

The most proven way to know the voice of the Lord is your intimacy with the Lord and the practice of responding to what you hear. One more thing I should add, FAITH. The believer lives and acts by faith.

Nothing is done outside of faith and faith is cultivated through the administration of the Word of God.

As part of hearing God’s Voice, one important question we have to answer is the difference between the voice of God and your imagination.

There are times when people hear the Lord and also begin to wonder if it was just their imagination or not.

The voice of God in your heart is the voice of the Holy Spirit.
The Bible did not replace the voice of God in our lives. The Bible is the revelation and articulation of God’s thoughts and intentions to mankind.

The scriptures or the Bible is the constitution of divine thoughts. The voice of the Lord does not disagree with the scriptures. I have firmly established this throughout this series.

Whatever, the Holy Spirit will say to you reflects the character and nature of God as revealed in the scriptures.

    For example:
The Holy Spirit will not tell you to destroy someone’s life; because that is not in the character and nature of God. God does not destroy lives, He builds lives.

The Holy Spirit will not tell us not to forgive and not to show kindness. God is kind and forgives. He is love.

God’s voice will always lead you to love and serve others. It doesn’t make you self-centered.

Clearly, you can tell that, there are times you find yourself imagining evil and destruction. That can’t be God speaking to you.

Throughout this discussion “Hearing God’s Voice”, I have clearly explained what the voice of the Lord is; now to have a proper understanding of the answer to this question, we must first answer the question:

    What is IMAGINATION?

In a general sense, it is the ability to form a mental image of something not present to the senses or never before wholly perceived in human development. It is the conception of an idea.

It is the capacity to creatively formulate concepts with unique representations in the mind.

Imagination is a powerful matter in human existence. Whatever mankind had ever experienced from antiquity to the present civilisation came through an imagination.

Imagination is not necessarily evil. Imagination is a powerful tool of the mind. A person’s imagination is highly influenced by the things, situations, experiences or thoughts which shape the mind.

Imagination is an activity of a person’s mind.

God proves and deals with people based on their own imagination.

“And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever”. 1 Chronicles 28:9 (KJV)

In the verse above you will find three words:
    Heart, Imagination and Thoughts.

These words are related and have a lot to do with IMAGINATION.

    1. The heart in the verse is “lêb” in Hebrew which speaks of the will and the intellect; the centre or the core of your being and the mind. It speaks of the part of a person’s being where imagination finds expressions.

    2. Imagination in the verse in Hebrew is “yêtser”, which means “conception” or “to purpose”: “to frame a thing, imagination or mind work”.

    3. Thought in the verse is also, “machăshâbâh”, in Hebrew, which means, a “contrivance”, it is the same word for a texture machine or intentional plan a plot, to device or a good or evil advice; a cunning work, imagination, means, purpose or thought.

These words are similar and related in their meanings. Especially yêtser and machăshâbâh. They all give detailed pictures and an extensive view of the word IMAGINATION.

God didn’t give man the ability to imagine just to plotting or device evil.

He gave man the ability of imagination, to re-echo His eternal intention and work through all creation, for the continuous growth and expression of His Life.

The imagination of man was never designed to be a device for evil.

Imagination is like a texture machine. It operates to design patterns according to how it has been programmed. When God made man in His own image and after His likeness. The goal was for man to multiply and replenish the earth according to His original patented design.

But through the deception of the adversary, man turned away from his originality or identity. He re-oriented himself and lost the touch of the heavenly pattern. Man now developed the ability to conceptualize ideas which are generated by deception.

This is why there is a struggle between the voice of God and the imagination of man.

Man’s imagination was to resound the intentions of God.

    Selah.

    WHAT DO YOU SEE?

“And the LORD said to Joshua: “See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor.”

    Joshua 6:2 (NKJV)

To fulfill ministry and accomplish great things, may seem to be challenging. Others are sometimes discouraged by the magnitude of the task.

God doesn’t just want you to move into action.

Accomplishing great things for the Lord doesn’t just come by trying to do something.
You must have the right vision if you want to accomplish your task or hit your target.

Your ability to do more begins with what you see and how you see what you see.

Oftentimes the Lord charges His people to see.

    Your imagination influences your possession.

    Beloved, what do you SEE?

Which results are you seeing now?

    Hallelujah.

    WE PRAY
That we will not be overwhelmed by the challenges that confront us but rather we will be strengthened with the grace to see the right results with our hearts at all times.

BIBLE READING IN THE YEAR 2024
    Isaiah 21 – 24

    DECLARE THESE WORDS:
    – I refuse to see the challenges, I see possibilities.

    –  I see my new level.

    – I refuse to look away from what I have seen with my heart.

    – That which I have seen my hands will handle.

    – I keep my gaze on the right pictures in my heart.

    – I see a way out of that challenge (specify the challenge confronting you).

    – Through the study of the word of God and prayer, I train my mind to see the right results.

    – I refuse to see failure and defeat, I see possibilities.
