HOMOLOGIA 1
“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23 (NKJV)
From our study on the Word of God, we have seen the transformative power of the Word of God and how to utilize the Word of God.
We saw the Word of God as God’s medicine or elixir for good health.
Beloved, with the Word of God in your spirit, you cannot fail. The discussion we are having on the Word are to bring you into realms of possibility.
God does nothing without His Word. Having the Word of God is having God’s creative material.
The Word of God brings you insight and teaches you what to do. The Word in you is the light of God in you (Psalm 119:130). There is no room for darkness and foolishness at the presence of the Word. Anyone who thinks in the light of the Word operates in Wisdom (2 Timothy 3:15); for the Word of God is the constitution of Wisdom.
You shouldn’t treat your relationship with the Word as a secondary importance.
We see from the scriptures how God esteems His Word. (Psalm 138:2).
God created by His Word.
He upholds all things by the Word of His power (Hebrews 1:3).
To bring healing, He sends His Word (Psalm 107:20).
To produce faith in you, He sends His Word (Romans 10:17).
To direct your future, He sends His Word (Psalm 119:105).
To instruct you in righteousness, it is by His Word (2 Timothy 3:16).
You received Salvation by His Word (Romans 10:14-15)
First the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. (John 1:14). And the Word which became flesh, was also the lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29).
Second, by the preaching of the Word, men receive salvation (Acts 4:4).
You were born again in Christ, by the seed of the Word (1 Peter 1:23).
How then do you think you can achieve success in the Kingdom of God without His Word.
Whatever God has said is truth (John 17:17), because His Word is truth. The Word of God is the articulation of God’s thought, principle, prophecy or promise and the core of His person.
The author of Hebrews knowing this, charged the saints:
” *Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.*” Hebrews 10:23 (NKJV).
He is charging You to:
1. BE RESOLUTE
2. CONFESS WITHOUT WAVERING
3. HAVE THE CONVICTION OF WHAT GOD HAS SAID BECAUSE OF WHO HE IS.
Let’s delve into this beautiful verse of scripture.
In some translations instead of “confess”, they chose the word “profess”.
Though “confess” is a better expression of the original word in Greek, the word “profess” also has its place in the usage. (And we will look at that in the course of our study).
The Greek word used is ” HOMOLOGIA” this is a compound word of homoú , which means “the same, together” and légō, which means “speak to a conclusion or agreement or lay to rest” – Thus, homologia is to speak the same conclusion or agreement.
In a classical Greek, homologia is an agreement, assent, compact of a contract.
(See Strong’s Concordance and Vine’s Expository Dictionary)
This is a picture of affirmation to a thought of a person. It means you speak the same thing. This doesn’t suggest a picture of parroting words.
Homologia means to declare or confess by first admitting a fact or reality. Thus, it is an avowal with unflinching inward conviction.
This is the peak of meditation.
You don’t practice homologia, by admitting and speaking your pain, defeat, struggle, failure, problems and challenges.
What you should affirm and articulate is the WORD OF GOD!!!
Be resolute about what God has said, knowing that whatever God says is true.
Homologia is not just agreeing with a word, it is also an agreement with the person who said it.
The Word of God is the thoughts of God expressed. To come into the same agreement with the Word to a point of declaring it with conviction, is to come into agreement with GOD.
We see a practical example here:
” Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you. So we may boldly say: “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” Hebrews 13:5-6 (NKJV)
Homologia is not just positive talk, it is admitting and declaring the Word of God with boldness knowing that GOD IS FAITHFUL and His WORD IS TRUE.
What God has said is what you say!
Beloved, admit and declare the Word of God instead of your challenges.
This is why we provide you with daily declarations.
Go ahead to declare what God has said concerning you.
DIG DEEPER:
(2 Corinthians 4:13; Joshua 1:8; 2 Corinthians 9:13; Hebrews 3:1)
WE PRAY
– That we will boldly declare all that God has said concerning us irrespective of circumstances.
BIBLE READING
Day 105: 1 Kings 1-3
DECLARE THESE WORDS:
– I speak what God has said concerning me.
– I believe therefore I speak.
– I speak in agreement with God.
– The Lord is my helper, and I don’t fear what man can do unto me.
– I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
– I am as bold as a lion.
– I have the spirit of boldness.
– I have lost all my fears.
OH Hallelujah, GLORY TO GOD!!!
