LET CHRIST BE SEEN IN YOU

“For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come”

    1 Timothy 4:8 (KJV)

The matter of godliness is essential in our faith walk.
Godliness is the expression of divinity.

Godliness (eusebeia from “eú” means well and “sébomai” also means worship, venerate, pay homage); literally “well worship”.

This reflects an attitude of one’s life to live with a sense of God’s presence.

Godliness is a sacred reverence exhibited especially in actions.

The consecrating presence of God is conveyed into all life experiences by godliness. We see the picture of godliness through Christ; how that, He made all behold the inexplicable reality of the divine life.

“No one has seen God [His essence, His divine nature] at any time; the [One and] only begotten God [that is, the unique Son] who is in the intimate presence of the Father, He has explained Him [and interpreted and revealed the awesome wonder of the Father].” John 1:18 (Amplified)

How did Jesus demonstrate, interpret and reveal the awesome wonder of the Father?

See what Brother Luke said here in Acts 1 verse 1:

“To Theophilus, the lover of God. I write to you again, my dear friend, to give you further details about the life of our Lord Jesus and all the things that he did and taught.

Through all the things that our Lord and Saviour Jesus did and taught, many beheld the glory of God.

Godliness is basically the demonstration of God’s nature, love, glory, joy and power to others. By this, we live a life pleasing to the Lord.

You speak like God and act as God. This is living as Christ in your sphere.

Do many see Christ in you?

Godliness is not about living out your own life in a “god-way”. It is rather living out the quality of God’s life dispensed into you.

It is the outflow of the increased life of God in you.
Beloved, until you decrease for Christ to increase in you; many will not see Christ.

Godliness is seen when you lay down your life for Christ only to spring forth and blossom in you.

You cannot fake true godliness. It is not a religious practice because it transcends religion. Neither is it an application of an outward list of rules and regulations.

True godliness is lived by the power of the transfused life of Christ.

Many ostensibly very “religious” people have an appearance of godliness, going through the motions of religion, but they don’t have the power to truly lay down their lives for Christ to blossom in them (See 2 Timothy 3:5).

By human standards, (just as the Pharisees and the Sadducees), there is a boxed-up interpretation of God and His expressions.

However, in Christ Jesus, we see that the revelation of God is beyond our human imagination. Thus, you can truly see God and express Him only by the power and revelation of Jesus Christ in you.
Until you behold and handle Christ Jesus, you cannot declare or express His life.
“We saw him with our very own eyes. We gazed upon him and heard him speak. Our hands actually touched him, the one who was from the beginning, the Living Expression of God. This Life-Giver was made visible and we have seen him. We testify to this truth: the eternal Life-Giver lived face-to-face with the Father and has now dawned upon us. So we proclaim to you what we have seen and heard about this Life-Giver so that we may share and enjoy this life together. For truly our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus, the Anointed One.” 1 John 1:1-3 (TPT).

    LIVE UNTO HIS GLORY 2

    – Follow The Example Of Jesus

“Whether you eat or drinklive your life in a way that glorifies and honors God.”

    1 Corinthians 10:31 (TPT)

Our Lord Jesus is the ultimate model and pattern of our Faith. Our true identity is in Christ.

Jesus came to unveil the mystery of godliness (1 Timothy 3:16). The mystery of godliness is the expression of the GOD-MAN (Jesus was revealed as fully God and fully man).

Thus the mystery of godliness is not just the revelation of God to man; it is also the revelation of man’s originality to man.
Man’s renaissance of identity and purpose can only be found in Christ Jesus.
That is why we are charged through the scriptures to continue to behold Jesus.
As you behold Jesus you begin to live and function like Him.

“…As He is, so are we in this world” (1 John 4:17).

To function like Jesus is to live the life God has predestined you to be conformed to His image and live like He did (Romans 8:29).

When you became born again, you received His life and nature. His purpose also became your purpose.
In Salvation, we were created to be in the likeness and image of Jesus.
“…Nevertheless I live yet not I but it is Christ that lives in me. The life that I live now in the flesh  I live by the faith of the Son of God…” (Galatians 2:20).

All that Jesus did was unto the glory of God. What else must be the purpose of your living and what you do?
It must be unto the glory of God just as Jesus lived.
Jesus lived to honor the Father above Himself.

We also have to live to honor the Father above ourselves. We don’t honor God just to win favor from Him. We honor the Father for who He is.
We don’t live like ordinary men, for they have no thoughts of God and don’t live to acknowledge Him nor glorify Him.
“For since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.” Romans 1:20-21 (NKJV).
However, as you are in Christ, the Prophecy of Isaiah is your reality.
“For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

The hearts of men are darkened and they walk in the futility of their thoughts because they have not acknowledged and glorified God; even though they see His attributes through creation.

But for us, our reality is different, when we beheld and received Jesus, the glorious light of the knowledge of God shone in our hearts. Therefore, we live daily to glorify and honor God.
Whatever you do, look beyond yourself interest, or satisfaction. Whatever you do must not be according to your will or desire but unto God’s glory and honor.
You don’t do things just to please yourself. You don’t do things just because it is a sin or not. The question is:

    How does it GLORIFY GOD?
How is your daily life, your speech, your conduct bringing glory to God and honoring Him?
This is how you emulate the example of Jesus.

    Shalom.

    WE PRAY
That we shall not live according to the futile thoughts and darkened hearts of men. But we will live everyday emulating Jesus (who glorified the Father in everything).

In the glorious name of Jesus.
