    WHAT ARE YOU HEARING?

“This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?”

    Galatians 3:2 (KJV)

Your perspective on life is a result of the knowledge you carry. Your knowledge is a result of what you hear.

You cannot be better than the things you hear.

Your thought patterns and life are a reflection of the information you keep absorbing.

Paul the apostle, writing to the brethren in Galatia, asked rhetorically, If they received the Spirit by the works of the law or by the hearing of faith?

He asked a similar question in his epistle to the Romans,

“But how can people call on him for help if they’ve not yet believed? And how can they believe in one they’ve not yet heard of? And how can they hear the message of life if there is no one there to proclaim it?” Romans 10:14 (TPT)

You cannot believe it until you hear. What you hear influences how you live.

If you hear words of faith, you live consistently by faith.

When you hear words of doubt and fear, you will constantly live in doubt and fear. You will not be able to take steps or make bold decisions. You will always be afraid.

But the knowledge you receive will influence your confidence.

When Daniel received understanding through the reading of the scriptures, it influenced his prayers. (Read on the Liberating Power of Reading).

We hear by what we read or watch and what we listen to. And what you hear determines your level of knowledge.

God doesn’t just want you to be saved; he wants you to grow in knowledge (1 Timothy 2:4).

You can only have the right knowledge when you give your mind to the right truth.

Be intentional about what you hear.

In my book Photizo (A Compendium of Eternal Verities) Alpha Edition, I explained the need to go for accurate knowledge.

You must become a student of the word, be like the Bereans, who didn’t just give their minds to anything at all they heard. They committed themselves to studying. They decided to be sure that whatever they heard was consistent with the scriptures.

As a new creation in Christ, give your mind to the revelation of Jesus. Anything you hear must be consistent with the testimony of Jesus.

The revelation of Jesus will shift and shape your mindsets.

You will live victoriously when you keep hearing the glorious things Christ has victoriously accomplished for you through His death and resurrection.

Paul was able to see faith in a man in Lystra who had never walked from birth.
Where did the faith come from? By hearing the preaching of Paul.

The man’s heart was so much flooded with the word of faith that when Paul asked him to stand on his feet, in the name of Jesus, he instantly jumped to his feet for the first time and walked (Acts 14:8-10).

    What a transformation!

You are reading this now, and may be thinking your life has come to an end, and nothing good will come out of your situation.

Precious one, your thoughts are a result of what you are hearing. Stop hearing your pain, stop hearing your challenges, stop hearing the doubts, stop hearing the projections of fear and guilt from the adversary.

Turn away from the negative words and projections of the devil. Set your eyes on the might and awesomeness of the Lord.

Give your ears and heart to the transformational word of faith. Hear what the Lord is saying through His word. The word of the Lord is the glorious gospel. The gospel means goodnews.

This goodnews of Jesus will set the direction of your life towards the experience and enjoyment of grace, glory and manifold blessings.

    Beloved, choose to hear right!!!

    Selah.

    REFUSE TO FEAR ANY EVIL

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”

    Psalm 23:4 (NKJV)

To walk in the valley of the shadow of death, is to be overwhelmed or hedged in and surrounded by some dark experience intended to create fear of destruction.

This “valley of the shadow of death” is not the dwelling or destination of the believer. When you find yourself in such situations, know that you are not dwelling there. You walk through it!

The “shadow of death” speaks of the “grave” (figuratively calamity). Well, in the midst of such situations, you have a greater assurance.

You are under the care of the Good Shepherd. His presence with you is your confidence and audacity.
Don’t get troubled and feel threatened because you are confronted by a difficult situation. Yours is to trust the GOOD SHEPHERD.
In your most difficult moments, who do you speak to?

From the first verses of Psalm 23, the Psalmist was addressing his readers, and referred to the Shepherd as the third person – “HE”.

But from verse 4, David begins to refer to the Shepherd in the second person – “YOU”.

He was no longer addressing his readers, he was now addressing his Shepherd.
This reveals how David turned to his Shepherd in his most difficult times.
He makes the Lord his consciousness.
The Lord’s presence does not necessarily eradicate the challenges and the dangers of the adversary. However, the Lord’s presence is the haven of care and defense for you in the midst of the most evil situation.

You may definitely be faced with some challenges and situations which seem difficult, DON’T FEAR ANY EVIL. The adversary may even attempt to cast thoughts of a worse scenario on your mind; but refuse to accept those thoughts.

    Refuse to be discouraged.

Refuse to be afraid for the LORD IS WITH YOU.

Maybe the Lord leads you into a marriage, or to start a business or ministry, and suddenly everything seems to go bad. Refuse to fear evil.

In your family, marriage, business, finances, ministry, career pursuit and journey of success, REMAIN RESOLUTE WITH THIS CERTAINTY THAT THE LORD IS WITH YOU.

You cannot end up as a failure. Don’t accept those thoughts of fear. You will come out of that valley of the shadow of death as a victor!

    OUTSOURCE YOUR ANXIETY 2

“Throw the whole of your anxiety upon Him, because He Himself cares for you.”

1 Peter 5:7 (Weymouth New Testament)

Anxiety is not of God and shouldn’t be entertained. Life in Christ is not to be lived in worry or anxiety. Every believer is called to live a life of faith.

To live in anxiety is to live out of faith. Thus living by faith is to live a worry-free life.

Don’t think it’s not possible to live a worry-free life. It is highly possible to live a worry-free life. To have a worry-free life doesn’t mean you are living a purposeless life or you don’t have anything important in your life.

To live a worry-free life is to live above anxiety.

Worry and anxiety have become the norm of men. Almost everyone (both the poor and the rich) wakes up with anxiety and fear. Even children are now cultured by society to worry.

The systems established by men to help men have now become a means of oppression and anxiety: the educational system, family relations, professional space and career pursuit.
The society which has to serve as a haven of tranquillity has become like a jungle.

Psychologists and counsellors seem not even to have solutions to these situations. Even they are struggling with the anxiety of doing their job well so that the customer will give them high rates.

Beloved, God has a permanent solution for anxiety and worry. He passionately cares for you. He has deep affection and interest in all your concerns.
He wants you to let Him bear your burdens. He wants you to direct all your concerns to Him.

This is how you live a worry-free life.

You don’t automatically experience a worry-free life. To have a worry-free life you must intentionally outsource your anxiety.

As you can see in the opening verse, God would not throw the whole of your anxiety upon Himself. It is your choice to do that. You have to throw the whole of your anxiety upon Him.

You have to decide that you are not going to bear it any more. Both the ones you can bear and the ones you cannot bear should be cast onto the Lord.

Don’t entertain any form of worry and pain. Don’t give anxiety the luxury to thrive around you.

I know you want to know how to outsource your anxiety.

Well, Paul the Apostle gives us a clear answer:

“Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ. So keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always” Philippians 4:6-8 (TPT)

Do you now see that it’s possible to have a worry-free life?

The scripture says: DON’T BE WORRIED ABOUT A THING! Don’t be running around in different directions in anxiety not knowing what to do. Don’t be confused about your situation. There is a way out of every condition:

    1. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God.

There should be no day without the saturation of prayer. And your prayers shouldn’t be with doubt. Your prayers must be based on the revelation of who God is and what He has said.

    2. Let your day be saturated with overflowing gratitude.
Showing gratitude to God brings you into the consciousness of what God can do. Thanksgiving is the greatest demonstration of faith. Thanksgiving is the confidence and faith that the Lord has already done what He says He will do.

    3. With the heart of thanksgiving or gratitude you tell God every detail of your life.

Take note: Nobody calls upon the Lord in faith and fails. As you talk to God, His wonderful peace that transcends human understanding will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ.

Now did you also notice that your prayers must not be done on some days in a week or even once a day?

You must be saturated in prayer THROUGHOUT EACH DAY.

    And as you do that:

    4. Instead of occupying your mind or thoughts on the matters which create anxiety, you must keep or fasten your thoughts continually on all that is:
    – authentic and real
    –  honorable and admirable
    –  beautiful and respectful
    –  pure and holy
    – merciful and kind
    – every glorious work of God, praising him always.

Faith is prompt to outsource every form of worry or anxiety to the Lord. Make a decision today to live a worry-free life.

    Hallelujah!

GOD — YOUR PLACE OF REFUGE

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea”

    Psalm 46:1-2 (KJV)

    BLESSED NEW MONTH!

This month of July is the beginning of the second half of the year 2024.

    Glory to God!

You may be reading this and today is the beginning of your time at a new workspace, and you have a sense of fear.
Today may also mark the beginning of restructuring your plans for the year.
You are reading this now and are also faced with a new challenge and unexpected news that has troubled you.

Your world may seem to be collapsing and you don’t know what to do.

Are you currently overwhelmed by your challenges and you feel suicide is your only escape from the vicissitude circumstance?

It’s too early to give up.

There is a greater option for you beloved of God in Christ.

    Men might have failed you.
You may feel rejected by your family at this moment.
It looks like whichever direction you turn to, doesn’t favor you.

You have stopped praying, you have stopped reading the word, and you are currently planning to stay away from Church.

    That is not the way.

    GOD IS YOUR REFUGE!

Learn to trust in Him as your refuge and strength.

Can you imagine the confidence of a man living in a fortified castle on a hill during heavy rainfall?

He will not be troubled nor moved by the outcome of the rain.

You will find this man enjoying and thanking the Lord for the blessings of rain.

Unlike the homeless or the man who lives in a kiosk.

Both don’t deny the presence of the rain. However, they will both have different reactions towards the rain.

The consciousness of your location defines your attitude towards the storm.

In your time of trouble, don’t run away from God. In your time of trouble, run to God.

Most people see God as the source of their trouble and pain. Some think God leads them into trouble to test their faith.

    No!

That is not God. He is not the source of evil, trouble, pain, and chaos.

Only good and perfect gift comes from God (James 1:17).

God is not your prison of pain. God is your refuge and strength.

He is not one who helps you today and will fail to help you tomorrow. God is your very present help in times of trouble. He is always present to help you in the now.

The storms may come, the waters may roar, the mountains may be carried into the sea, don’t be afraid nor shaken.

    Remain resolute in the Lord.

Remain confident in who God is and His ability.

Look away from the trouble and look to God, who is your refuge and strength.

    FEAR NO EVIL

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”

    Psalm 23:4 (NKJV)

As much as we enjoy the leadings of the Good Shepherd, it does not suggest we will not be confronted by challenges.

This is the reason the Shepherd is also the protector and defense of the flock.
