There is something special about following God’s plan. A cheerful prompt to do it giver has a genuine heart for God. Having a huge amount of money in your bank account or as income doesn’t make you a giver automatically. Until you passionately love the Lord, you will not give in to His agenda. Beloved, do you passionately love the Lord?

IT IS BY THE STRENGTH OF GOD

“For they all were trying to make us afraid, saying, ‘Their hands will be weakened in the work, and it will not be done.’ Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands”

    Nehemiah 6:9 (NKJV)

One of the greatest causes of weakness in the pursuit of God’s purpose is FEAR.

The moment you become afraid that you will fail or will not be able to complete the task, you weaken yourself from doing what God wants you to do.

The more you exercise confidence that with God you shall do valiantly, the more you increase in strength.

When you consider the seemingly overwhelming pressure or the opposition you face or may face in the pursuit of purpose, you will stagger in faith.

There will be times you may not have support from your best friends or the people you trust. But that shouldn’t derail you.

Look at Paul’s (the apostle’s) testimony:

”At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them. But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. Also I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.” 2 Timothy 4:16-17 (NKJV)

    Glory to God!!!

This is the certainty of our faith!!!

No matter the pressure or opposition, beloved, we turn to God.
It is by the strength of God that you will prevail, not your human strength nor intelligence.

When you turn away from the pressure and you turn to God, you increase in strength.

    Just as Nehemiah did:

“For they all were trying to make us afraid, saying, “Their hands will be weakened in the work, and it will not be done.” Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands” Nehemiah 6:9 (NKJV)

Nehemiah chose to pray to God for strength. That was all he needed to complete the work.

    Now look at what happened:

“So the wall was finished on the twenty-fifth day of Elul, in fifty-two days. And it happened, when all our enemies heard of it, and all the nations around us saw these things, that they were very disheartened in their own eyes; for they perceived that this work was done by our God” Nehemiah 6:15-16 (NKJV)

When the strength of God is supplied to you, you can only have the God-kind of results.

    Increase in strength!!!

    STAY WITH THE LORD

“Peter spoke up and said, “But Lord, where would we go? No one but you gives us the revelation of eternal life.”

    John 6:68 (TPT)

Until you understand and appreciate who the Lord Jesus is and what defines your relationship with Him, you will not be consistent in your relationship with Him.

You may not be consistent in your relationship with the Lord because you assume there are other alternatives or options. You may think that whatever the Lord may supply to you can be supplied through other means.

You don’t stick to the Lord because He says what makes you happy. You must stay with the Lord, whether what He says is what you want or not. The thoughts of Jesus are not to fit into your worldview.

It comes to cause a shift in your mind to correct your belief system and worldview.

The words of Jesus don’t agree with your way of thinking, it changes the way you think.

Most people who followed the Lord Jesus turned away from Him because of His teachings. He wasn’t telling them what they wanted, He was telling them what they needed.

“And when many of Jesus’ followers heard these things, it caused a stir. “That’s disgusting!” they said. “How could anybody accept it?” Without anyone telling him, Jesus knew they were outraged and told them, “Are you offended over my teaching?”

“And so from that time on many of the disciples turned their backs on Jesus and refused to be associated with him” John 6:60-61,66 (TPT)

Jesus then turned to the twelve (12) disciples and asked, “Do you also want to leave?”

Peter’s response must be the response of every believer, no matter the storm or questions posed to your faith.

“Peter spoke up and said, “But Lord, where would we go? No one but you gives us the revelation of eternal life. We’re fully convinced that you are the Anointed One, the Son of the Living God, and we believe in you!” John 6:60-68 (TPT).

Maintain a strong conviction about the revelation of Jesus; especially within a time and age where you meet people who mock the reality of Jesus, and cast doubt around the historical accuracy of the incarnation, divinity, the meaning of the death of Jesus and His resurrection.

The response of Peter wasn’t only about what Jesus does, but mainly about who He is!

    – Peter didn’t talk about any temporal experience. He addressed Jesus as the source of eternal blessings.

    – And clearly stated their conviction and why they believe in Him. They don’t believe in Him just because of what He does for them, but because of who He is. They believed in Him because He is the Anointed One, the Son of the Living God.

When you have this kind of conviction about the Lord, nothing moves you away from Him.

That explains the faith the three Hebrew boys had in God. They never yielded to the pressure to bow to Baal, not just because they believed the Lord God would save them, but because of who the Lord God is to them.

They even believed in the LORD to the extent that they knew if He didn’t save them, He was still right.

Always maintain the consciousness of who the Lord Jesus is, rather than just what He does. The multitudes left because they didn’t fix their focus on who the Lord is; they were only interested in the miracles of Jesus.

You enjoy the perfect peace of the now when you focus on the peace He gives. You enjoy the perfect peace of the Lord when your mind stays on Him.

What this means is that you don’t demonstrate confidence in the Lord only when things look good around you.

You stay with the Lord and set your affection towards Him even when you go through the valleys and the shadows of death.

No matter what confronts you, stay with the LORD.

    Selah.

    THE GOODNEWS OF GRACE
    IN AN EVIL WORLD 2

“But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD”

    Genesis 6:8 (KJV)

There are many people who think there is no hope for today’s world.

When they think of the perversion of this world, the only thing that comes to mind is a judgement of condemnation.

You may wonder how the gospel reconciles the concept of a loving God with the existence of evil and chaos in the world.

Understand that God is not through with this world and does not give up on His creation.

His response to the disobedience, disorderliness and wickedness in the heart of men, has always been a provision of Grace.

God is just and has no agreement with evil. His goodness exposes and displaces evil. The judgement of God against evil is mainly the work of His goodness and righteousness to uproot destruction.

It’s interesting how people don’t see God’s judgement against evil as a demonstration of His goodness. The goal of every evil work is to destroy. Judgement against evil stops the destructive work of evil.

God’s judgement also includes deliverance by Grace through faith and not by works. This is because man’s “works” or self-righteousness are not enough to save him.

If man’s self-effort is enough to save him, then he doesn’t need the help of a loving God. Therefore, he must have faith in God’s provision.

God always make a provision of salvation according to His purpose and grace. And as men exercise faith in His provision, they enjoy His grace.

The grace of God is sufficient, no matter the degree of weakness or limitations. (2 Corinthians 12:9).

After the fall of man through unbelief, corruption entered the world (see Genesis 3). And when men muliplied on earth, their corruption and wickedness also multiplied. What men deserve was condemnation, yet God made provision of Grace.

“The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. So the Lord said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.” Genesis 6:5-8 (ESV).

Did you see the Goodnews amidst the evil and wickedness of men?

When you read the above verses, you may conclude that the focus is the plan of God to destroy man.

Please pause for a moment and put on the lens of Jesus.

To grasp the full revelation of the scriptures, read them through the lens of Jesus.

The above verses gave us the opportunity to witness the process of God’s unconditional love. God’s provision of love and grace is not demonstrated only in comfort. If it is only demonstrated in comfort then it is not unconditional.

To know it is the love of God, you must see the degree of pain.

The death of Jesus is the greatest demonstration of God’s love.
Was it comfortable? Was it cheap? Was it without a burden? Was it in the absence of pain?

Click here to read more about the sufferings of Jesus on the cross.

The focus of Genesis 6 was not the wickedness of men and the flood. The focus of Genesis 6 is the Graciousness of God’s love.

The thoughts which preceded, “But Noah…” were not the focus of the conversation. They only helped us understand and value the degree of God’s love.

It shows clearly that by the wickedness of man’s heart, all men were to be destroyed completely. But because of the graciousness of God, He made provision of salvation for mankind. Now, by God’s provision of grace, man was no longer going to be condemned because of their evil intentions and wickedness. It is now about their faith.

The question was no longer, are they going to be destroyed because they are wicked?

The question now is, are they going to have faith in God to escape the coming destruction?

It was no longer about their character or conduct. It was now based on who God is?

It is now based on their faith in God.

“Faith opened Noah’s heart to receive revelation and warnings from God about what was coming, even things that had never been seen. But he stepped out in reverent obedience to God and built an ark that would save him and his family. By his faith the world was condemned, but Noah received God’s gift of righteousness that comes by believing.” Hebrews 11:7 (TPT).

Noah was not delivered because of His conduct or goodness of character. Noah and his family were delivered because he had faith in God.

No matter the present day evil, God’s provision of grace is superabounding. As many as will turn to God and have faith in Him shall be satisfied by God grace.

    PERSEVERE IN PRAYER FOR RESULTS

“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints“

    Ephesians 6:18 (KJV)

While looking at praying all prayer and supplication, Paul pauses momentarily to address the attitude every believer should have as we pray.

Remember, Paul was still talking about the items needed to withstand the schemes of the rulers of darkness.

To enforce your victory in Christ, you must not seek a holiday. Though we entered our rest in Christ, we fight the fight of faith in rest.

There is a designated time for a holiday. We confront the forces of darkness while we are at rest.

The adversary though defeated and rendered powerless, is still deploying and projecting his deceptive scheme. Believers must have the attitude that puts them ahead of the strategies of the evil one.

We must be WATCHFUL and exercise PERSEVERANCE.

You cannot enforce your victory when you go into slumber. You must remain alert with your eyes open. Don’t be ignorant of the schemes of the enemy.

To be watchful enables you to persevere. The more you are alert to see the plots of the enemy the more you remain firm and constant in prayer.

Most believers go on vacation because they are ignorant of the schemes of the devil.

He is a defeated enemy who never accepts defeat (though he knows he cannot win). You must be watchful to put him in his place.

It takes perseverance to do anything or accomplish any great feat in life.

Jesus instructed His disciples to “watch and pray…”

You are a good soldier on the battlefield; therefore, stay alert in prayer.
You don’t also have to get tired to pray. You may have many genuine reasons to be lackadaisical or reasons not to pray, but you must persevere.

    This is war!

And you cannot stay out of touch with the Lord. You must earnestly stay in prayer.

To be sincere, prayer isn’t always easy. But the secret is that, the more you stay consistent in prayer, the easier it gets.

When you stay out of prayer for a while, it will always be a struggle to get into the habit of prayer. You must be determined to be prayerful. You have to make a choice that you shall press on in prayer.

You don’t become effective in prayer by only reading about prayer. You can be reading this episode of Machaira with Apostle Bennie, and still not be praying. You may know the benefits of prayer and still not be praying.

The only way to be prayerful is to continue in prayer daily.

And also don’t make prayer the last option of what to do to get results. Prayer must always be your first strategy.

You also don’t have to rush through prayer. To get the best of prayer, stay long in prayer and be consistent with it daily.

BREAK FREE FROM ALL LIMITATIONS 2

“For everyone born of God is victorious and overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has conquered and overcome the world—our [continuing, persistent] faith [in Jesus the Son of God].”

    1 John 5:4 (Amplified Bible)

Beloved in Christ, it is not a mistake you are reading today’s Machaira with Apostle Bennie.

This is a special message to you.

You have no reason to feel hopeless, tired and defeated.

No matter the reasons you have, none of them surmount the victory which Christ has wrought for you.

You may have the whole world against you, and all systems opposing your advancement, but none of them can surmount your faith in Christ Jesus.

No matter the limitations you may feel, see or experience around you, faith in Christ gives you the superior advantage.

What are the limitations you see in your pursuit of purpose?

Do you think they are too big for you?

Do you feel or think you are too small and lack the strength to prevail in life?

Do you think your family setup and academic failures are limitations to your progress?

Even Esau, who lost his birthright and blessings, had an opportunity to prevail. Read here.

Do you even think you have wasted time and cannot achieve your dreams?

See, Sarah, who was barren, old in years, and long past the age of childbearing, received strength to conceive a child. (Genesis 18:11; Hebrews 11:11).

    Don’t doubt the Lord!

And if you have ever doubted, today marks a new beginning. Don’t think that because you doubted, there is no hope for you.

Abraham laughed when he was first told he was going to give birth to a son.

“Abraham fell facedown. Then he laughed and said to himself, “Can a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? Can Sarah give birth at the age of ninety?” (Genesis 17:17)

Sarah also laughed within herself, saying, “After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?” (Genesis 18:12).

Their laughter was based on biological facts. Biologically or scientifically, both Abraham and Sarah have passed the stage of childbirth.

Sarah, at 90, meant her reproductive system had entered and even gone beyond menopause.

Menopause is a natural decline in reproductive hormones. At this stage, the ovaries stop releasing eggs for fertilisation (which is the loss of ovarian follicular function).

When the menstrual cycles and egg production cease, natural pregnancy is impossible.

Also, the uterus and other reproductive organs experience age-related changes that can make pregnancy more difficult or impossible.

But amidst all these limitations, faith activated will cause the limitless word of God to prevail over every limitation.

“And the Lord said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?
Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.”
    Genesis 18:13-14 (KJV)

    Oh glory!

One powerful question which should be your faith for every challenge was what the Lord asked Abraham.

IS ANYTHING TOO HARD FOR THE LORD?

From then on, Abraham and Sarah chose to exercise themselves in the faith of God.

Abraham, against hope, believed in hope that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken.

Your set time to take the stand of faith is now. As you are born of God, live in the confidence of the faith of God.

As you are born of God, you have the faith to conquer and overcome the world (with its systems, limitations and oppositions).

By faith, Sarah prevailed over the limitations of childbearing in old age.

    Refuse to be limited!!!

Don’t settle for the limitations around you. Don’t think according to your background or where you live. Don’t make decisions according to how you feel.

In Christ Jesus, there are no limitations. All limitations are mental illusions.

Walk in the reality of the Word of God.

Shake yourself from every yoke of the mind and of the heart. Live above all limitations.

EVERY LEADER MUST LEARN TO FIGHT 1

“Afterwards, Jacob went back and spent the rest of the night alone. A man came and fought with Jacob until just before daybreak.”

    Genesis 32:24 (CEV)

Every man has the inherent potential to lead in any course they set for themselves. However, the born-again in Christ has the direct call of the Lord into His Kingdom leadership.

The new creation in Christ is made a king and priest (Revelation 1:6, 1 Peter 2:9).

This means every believer is designed and sent to lead in his or her sphere.  As mentioned in previous episodes, if you are born again, see yourself as a leader.

To be a leader means you have an assignment to inspire, influence, and direct people toward God’s agenda. Jesus Our Lord calls His disciples (which includes you) as the salt of the earth and the light of the world (Matthew 5:13-16).
Which means you provide guidance, illumination and preservation of destinies. Destinies depend on you.

As a leader, your life is not for your self-gratification but for divine glorification. The more you shine as a light in your sphere, men glorify God because of your impact.

As a leader, your decisions, choices, plans, actions, and results affect the lives of people in your sphere.

Your failure is the failure of many. Your victory gives opportunity to many others to also experience a victorious life.

This doesn’t come by chance. There are many factors which may serve as a resistance or limitation, but you must be daring to exercise your victory.

Thankfully, every born-again operates from the place of victory because of the victory of Christ.
The victory of Jesus doesn’t mean you will not face opposition and resistance.

Paul the apostle referred to Epaphroditus as a brother, fellow worker and a fellow soldier (Philippians 2:25). He told Timothy to endure suffering along with him as a good soldier of Christ (2 Timothy 2:3).

Why would Paul the apostle call you a soldier in Christ if there is nothing to fight for?

During the final days of his ministry, Apostle Paul himself said, “I have fought a good fight” (2 Timothy 4:7).

So, a son of God in Christ, you are also a soldier of Christ.

There is no destiny which is fulfilled without a fight. This fight is not an ordinary fight. It is a fight of faith. The fulfilment of your destiny in Christ is the fulfilment of a purpose which is foreordained by God.

If the adversary can prevent you from fulfilling your purpose, then he has attempted to disrupt a divine plot. And this also affects others whose destinies are connected to yours.

Most believers assume that as long as they have entered the rest of Christ, there is nothing to fight for.

There is a whole lot more to fight for; as believers, we fight from the place of rest or faith:

    –  to enforce our victory which we have obtained in Christ Jesus.
    – to liberate others from the power of darkness and to bring them into the light.
    – to cause the glory of God to manifest in our world.
    – to ensure that the Lord’s vision is fulfilled in our sphere.

As you can see from the opening verse, Jacob, who has the birthright and the blessing, had to still wrestle to enter the full manifestation of His blessedness as a nation.

It was after he prevailed that he fully matured as a nation (corporate man). Until then, Jacob was just an individual man and a family man. He was not yet Israel, though he was the custodian of the blessings and promise of Abraham and Isaac.

No believer is called by God to live an ordinary life. Every believer is a custodian of a divine vision and mandate.

To expand the scope of your impact, you must learn to prevail. And if you want to prevail, you must learn to fight.

Don’t allow the challenges or limitations of your background to bully you. Don’t bow to the systems of this world. Be a fighter.

Don’t allow anything to reduce you to ordinariness.

You are not ordinary; you are of God. Therefore, don’t live an ordinary life; live as a leading victorious soldier.

David said, “The Lord trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze” (2 Samuel 22:35)

    Be a fighter.

    Learn to fight!

    Learn to prevail.

    Glory to God!

    WE PRAY
