    CONTINUE IN THE FAITH

” As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him. Colossians 2:6 (NKJV)

Do you think how you received Christ or got born again, is different from how you live in Him?
How did you receive the Lord?
How did you become born again?
How did you receive the gift of eternal life?
    How were you justified?
Clearly from our previous discussions, you should be able to answer these with ease.
You did not come to Christ by your good deeds, neither are you sustained in Christ by it.
It is by Grace and through faith you received Jesus, therefore you continue your living in Christ by grace through faith.

” For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast”
    Ephesians 2:8-9 (NKJV)

You are justified only through faith in Jesus and not by the works or the deeds of the law of Moses.

” For we conclude that a person is put right with God only through faith, and not by doing what the Law commands” Romans 3:28 (GNT)

Anything we received in Christ is by faith.
We got saved and came into Christ by faith.
We were justified and received the gift of eternal life by faith.
We received the Spirit not by the works of the law, but by faith.

” This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?” Galatians 3:2,5 (NKJV)

Beloved, receiving Christ and our experience of all that is in Christ is by faith.
Now in Paul’s epistle to the brethren in Colosse, he instructed them on how they are to continue their walk in Christ.

” As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.” Colossians 2:6-7 (NKJV)

After he instructed them to continue in Christ as they have received Him, he then showed them how in the verse 7:
    a. Be rooted in the faith
    b. Built up in the faith
    c. Established in the faith.
These all point to the work of the gospel in you.
The reality of the gospel is that, you were justified by faith. (Romans 5:1)
Therefore as you are justified you live by faith.
    (Romans 1:17).
The gospel of Jesus is the word of His grace which produces faith.
The more you hear the gospel of Jesus, you are rooted, built up and established in faith.

” So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.” Acts 20:32 (NKJV).

You will definitely meet people whose teachings and thoughts will make you think faith in Jesus is not enough. They will preach “another gospel”; which will make you think though you got saved by faith in Christ, your salvation is now sustained and kept by the works of the law of Moses.
Some may have good intentions, and for others they are envious of the glorious life you have in Christ.
Some will make you think what you have received in Christ is not enough.
Don’t give your mind to such thoughts.

    YOU ARE COMPLETE IN CHRIST
Look at the further instruction Paul gave to the brethren in Colosse after he had told them to continue in the faith from verse 6 and 7 of Colossians 2:

” Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.” Colossians 2:8-10 (NKJV).

You came into Christ through faith, walk in Him by faith.
When you turn away from the gospel of grace which produces faith, you will frustrate the grace of God in your life. It means you are moving away from the Spirit-life to now walk in the flesh.
And the scriptures call it “foolishness” (Galatians 3:1-5)

As you are in Christ, He is now your life. Therefore the life you live now in the flesh,

LIVE BY THE FAITH OF THE SON OF GOD WHO LOVED YOU AND GAVE HIMSELF FOR YOU. (Galatians 2:20)
    Hallelujah

    WE PRAY
-That we shall not be given to another gospel which is not Christ’s but continue in the faith of Christ being rooted, built up and established in the faith.

    DECLARE THESE WORDS:
    – I am justified by faith
    – The life of Christ is my life.
    – I am perfected by faith in Christ not by my deeds.
    – My boast is in the Lord’s finished work of Christ.

    – I am rooted, built up and established in the knowledge of Christ.

    – I continue in the reality of faith and shall give not room to the traditions of men.
    OH Hallelujah, GLORY TO GOD!!!

    JUSTIFIED BY FAITH

” Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.”  Romans 3:28 (NKJV)

It’s interesting how one may think he or she is made righteous by his/her own deeds.
Get this, from Genesis to Revelation, no single person was declared righteous by the deeds of the law (the law here is the law of Moses).
The law of Moses, couldn’t make any one righteous. The purpose of the law is to reveal or unmask sin.

” For by the merit of observing the law no one earns the status of being declared righteous before God, for it is the law that fully exposes and unmasks the reality of sin.” Romans 3:21 (TPT).

The law reveals your imperfection and inability to be righteous.
You are made righteous or you are justified only through Jesus. It is your believe in Jesus, that made you righteous.
You may try your best to follow the law of Moses, however the law is designed to bring you to the end of yourself by exposing your weaknesses.
The law points you to the need of a saviour.
Both the law and the prophets bear witness of this reality, that you are justified or made righteous without the law of Moses.

” But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being testified by the law and the prophets” Romans 3:21 (Webster’s Bible Translation).

So then you must know that your justification is by faith in Jesus only. It is good to live right, but you are not justified by your good deeds.
However, because you are made righteous you live right.
    Look at how Paul the apostle concluded his teaching concerning Jesus, in the synagogue at Antioch in Pisidia;

“Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. Acts 13:38-39 (NKJV)

Now Paul said this when he was to give an exhortation in Antioch by the Jewish leaders. He said these things after they had read the law and the prophets.

” And after the reading of the Law and the Prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying, “Men and brethren, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.”
Then Paul stood up, and motioning with his hand said, “Men of Israel, and you who fear God, listen:” Acts 13:15-16 (NKJV).

Now what I want you to take note of is that, those Jews read the law and the prophets and thought they are made righteous by the deeds of the law. They didn’t understand the purpose of the law. They read the law and the prophets, yet they couldn’t see the testimony of those scriptures they read.
The Jews read the law and the prophets and couldn’t see the true testimony of the scriptures. They never saw that the scriptures (the law and the prophets) pointed to Jesus.

” You pore over the Scriptures because you presume that by them you possess eternal life. These are the very words that testify about Me” John 5:39 (BSB)

AND THIS IS THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS, YOU ARE JUSTIFIED BY FAITH IN HIM!
You cannot pay for the penalty of sin by your good deeds or works of the law.
When you attempt to be justified by your works, it shall be reckon as debts!
    (Romans 4:4).
Beloved, you are justified only through faith in Jesus and not by the works or the deeds of the law of Moses.

” For we conclude that a person is put right with God only through faith, and not by doing what the Law commands” Romans 3:28 (GNT)
