    THE FIRST PROFOUND QUESTION –
    WHERE ARE YOU?

“Then the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”

    Genesis 3:8 (NLT)

One of the most profound questions asked in the entire Bible and the history of mankind is the question asked by God:

    “Where are you?”

This question wasn’t a display of ignorance. God is all-knowing; therefore, was not having any difficulty locating the man.

God doesn’t ask questions because He is ignorant of answers. Since He is all-knowing, He is relational and doesn’t impose His ability of knowledge.

Every communication of God is to take us on a journey of understanding.

A deeper consideration of His questions and interactions with people launches one into a richer understanding of His thought patterns, justice, wisdom, rightfulness, love and His person.

God’s questions lead men into light. Unlike God, every question asked by the devil is to lead people astray. He is a deciever, an accuser and a destroyer.

The devil doesn’t ask questions to give life or to enlighten hearts. He only asks questions to enforce and execute his evil plots.

Actually, the first recorded question in the Bible was asked by the devil. And your guess is right, it was the question that led man into corruption.

“The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the Lord God had made. One day he asked the woman, “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?” Genesis 3:1 (NLT)

The question asked was as though the adversary had clear knowledge of the exact things God said, but a careful look into the question exposes his ignorance and deceptiveness.

As a deceiver, he had mastered the art of asking deceptive questions. He framed his question for a desired response and to project his hidden assumption.

The devil doesn’t ask you questions to usher you into answers. He asks questions to usher you into confusion and destruction.

You must always confront him with what God has said to you. He only comes to counter what God has said. His goal is to steal the word of God from your heart.

All you have to do is remain resolute in the word of God.

Don’t treat the questions of the devil the same way you treat the questions of the Lord.

The nature of the questions of adversary is deception and offense. They are to sway you off into deception. They make you turn against God. They make you feel cheated and wasted.

Every question asked by the devil points you to “a self” outside God. It points you away from God. It paints an identity which creates enmity and separation from God.

Every question aske isd by God unveils His love and care, plan and purpose, provision and abundant resources.

His questions don’t condemn but to convict your heart. He doesn’t suppress and leave you empty. He supplies and satisfies your heart.

    The question, WHERE ARE YOU?

Shows the gravitational focus of God’s heartbeat.

It establishes the profound reality that God is interested in man, whether man turns to Him or not.

Man rejected and trampled God’s word underfoot, turned away from God and after facing the consequence of the deception of the devil, he was stricken by guilt and shame.

God is asking mankind this same question:

    Where are you?

He doesn’t want you to hide from Him. He doesn’t want you to be away from Him. He wants you to enjoy His presence. He wants you to stay with Him.

God loves that man will be with Him.

Therefore, He fully came in the person of Christ, so that through His finished work in His death and resurrection, He will indwell man and be with man forever.

God doesn’t want to ask, “Where are you” over and over again.

Now He has dwelt with you through the Holy Spirit.

He said, “I am with you always…” (Matthew 28:20) and “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5).

If you are not saved yet, don’t hide yourself because of sin and guilt.

God has defeated sin and made an eternal provision of forgiveness for you.

Run into His arms to enjoy His love.

As a born-again, the Lord is not asking you where you are in terms of your location (He is fully with you forever). However, He is asking you, “Where are you?” In terms of consciousness and reality. Read the subsequent episodes for answers.

    Shalom!

    YOUR VALUE NEVER DECREASES

“Look at all the birds—do you think they worry about their existence? They don’t plant or reap or store up food, yet your heavenly Father provides them each with food. Aren’t you much more valuable to your Father than they?”

    Matthew 6:26 (TPT)

The death of Jesus for you and your participation in His Newness of life, which was dispensed through His resurrection, provides the extent of your value before God.

You were bought with a price (1 Corinthians 6:20)
Your cost price is Jesus Himself.

Even when you were a sinner, you were valuable before God.

“But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (Berean Standard Bible)

Your value never decreases before God’s love. He proved His value to you by how He saved you.

By which standard do you think you have no value?

The challenges you have gone through, your defeats, failures, and terrible mistakes do not change or diminish your value before the Lord.

If your value doesn’t decrease or diminish before the Lord, is it the negative report of men that matters to you?

Since you are still valuable even by God’s standard, why are you subjecting yourself to the negative standards of men?

Between God and men, who has higher standards?

Whose verdict of you matters the most?

“So, what does all this mean? If God has determined to stand with us, tell me, who then could ever stand against us? For God has proved his love by giving us his greatest treasure, the gift of his Son. And since God freely offered him up as the sacrifice for us all, he certainly won’t withhold from us anything else he has to give. Who then would dare to accuse those whom God has chosen in love to be his? God himself is the judge who has issued his final verdict over them—“Not guilty!

    Stop judging yourself wrongly.
Stop devaluing yourself with negative words.

    Speak sweetness to yourself.

Whenever you stand in front of a mirror, speak forth the value God has placed on you.

    You are not ordinary.

Why worry about your existence when you have great value before the Lord?

Walk in this consciousness every day of your life, no matter your experiences and the judgment of men.

    STAY WITH THE LORD

“Peter spoke up and said, “But Lord, where would we go? No one but you gives us the revelation of eternal life.”

    John 6:68 (TPT)

Until you understand and appreciate who the Lord Jesus is and what defines your relationship with Him, you will not be consistent in your relationship with Him.

You may not be consistent in your relationship with the Lord because you assume there are other alternatives or options. You may think that whatever the Lord may supply to you can be supplied through other means.

You don’t stick to the Lord because He says what makes you happy. You must stay with the Lord, whether what He says is what you want or not. The thoughts of Jesus are not to fit into your worldview.

It comes to cause a shift in your mind to correct your belief system and worldview.

The words of Jesus don’t agree with your way of thinking, it changes the way you think.

Most people who followed the Lord Jesus turned away from Him because of His teachings. He wasn’t telling them what they wanted, He was telling them what they needed.

“And when many of Jesus’ followers heard these things, it caused a stir. “That’s disgusting!” they said. “How could anybody accept it?” Without anyone telling him, Jesus knew they were outraged and told them, “Are you offended over my teaching?”

“And so from that time on many of the disciples turned their backs on Jesus and refused to be associated with him” John 6:60-61,66 (TPT)

Jesus then turned to the twelve (12) disciples and asked, “Do you also want to leave?”

Peter’s response must be the response of every believer, no matter the storm or questions posed to your faith.

“Peter spoke up and said, “But Lord, where would we go? No one but you gives us the revelation of eternal life. We’re fully convinced that you are the Anointed One, the Son of the Living God, and we believe in you!” John 6:60-68 (TPT).

Maintain a strong conviction about the revelation of Jesus; especially within a time and age where you meet people who mock the reality of Jesus, and cast doubt around the historical accuracy of the incarnation, divinity, the meaning of the death of Jesus and His resurrection.

The response of Peter wasn’t only about what Jesus does, but mainly about who He is!

    – Peter didn’t talk about any temporal experience. He addressed Jesus as the source of eternal blessings.

    – And clearly stated their conviction and why they believe in Him. They don’t believe in Him just because of what He does for them, but because of who He is. They believed in Him because He is the Anointed One, the Son of the Living God.

When you have this kind of conviction about the Lord, nothing moves you away from Him.

That explains the faith the three Hebrew boys had in God. They never yielded to the pressure to bow to Baal, not just because they believed the Lord God would save them, but because of who the Lord God is to them.

They even believed in the LORD to the extent that they knew if He didn’t save them, He was still right.

Always maintain the consciousness of who the Lord Jesus is, rather than just what He does. The multitudes left because they didn’t fix their focus on who the Lord is; they were only interested in the miracles of Jesus.

You enjoy the perfect peace of the now when you focus on the peace He gives. You enjoy the perfect peace of the Lord when your mind stays on Him.

What this means is that you don’t demonstrate confidence in the Lord only when things look good around you.

You stay with the Lord and set your affection towards Him even when you go through the valleys and the shadows of death.

No matter what confronts you, stay with the LORD.

WHAT DO YOU HAVE THAT GOD DID NOT GIVE YOU?

The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the LORD of hosts”

    Haggai 2:8 (NKJV)

It is an opportunity or privilege to be a financial partner of the gospel. Giving towards the advancement of the gospel and the Kingdom isn’t for everyone.

And that is why you don’t listen or pay attention to anyone who vehemently speaks against giving in to the gospel.

Giving into the Kingdom is for those who have:

    1. Set their affection on the Lord and have given themselves to the Lord

    2. Consciously increased in the giving grace, and give with joy and willingness.

    3. Recognised themselves as stewards of God’s finances.

As a steward of God’s finances, you acknowledge that whatever you give is not from you but of God.

You acknowledge God as your supply.
That was exactly the mindset of Abraham.

When God asked Abraham to offer his son Isaac, Abraham didn’t see himself as the provider of the sacrifice.

When Isaac asked where the lamb for the sacrifice was, Abraham told him, God will provide for Himself a lamb for the sacrifice.
Now the question is, did God really make provision for the sacrifice? Of course! (See Genesis 22:1-18)

This is for you to understand that, whatever God tells you to do, He supplies you with the resources to do.

When God tells you to go out there to preach, teach and heal the sick, He supplies you with the grace to do.

God doesn’t place demands on you. He supplies you with the grace and resources you need to do what He wants you to do.

When it comes to financing Kingdom assignment, the first thing to do is to look to God, not your pocket nor bank account.

Your bank balance will always be too small for the great things God wants you to do.

David said, “…I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house, my own special treasure of gold and silver: 1 Chronicles 29:3 (NKJV)

Which means he gave beyond what he had saved (prepared).
At this level of giving, you are operating on the frequency of God’s supply.

Giving by faith is giving with the mindset that the Lord is your supply, and that is stewardship.

On the matter of stewardship, you acknowledge that all that you have is from God and it belongs to Him.

When that becomes your consciousness, you don’t struggle to give greatly towards the advancement of His Kingdom.

Remember, whatever we do for God must be great.

It was this mindset David had. He saw himself as a steward of God’s resources. And that was how he trained his people to think.

“Both riches and honor come from You, And You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; In Your hand it is to make great. And to give strength to all. “Now therefore, our God, We thank You
And praise Your glorious name. But who am I, and who are my people,  that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from You, And of Your own we have given You. For we are aliens and pilgrims before You, As were all our fathers; Our days on earth are as a shadow, And without hope. “O Lord our God, all this abundance that we have prepared to build You a house for Your holy name is from Your hand, and is all Your own.” 1 Chronicles 29:12-16 (NKJV).

David and His people gave greatly towards the Lord’s work because they recognised that the work of God is great and must be greatly financed.

And above all, they gave cheerfully and willingly because they knew all that they had was from God. And also, it was God who enabled them to give.

They saw their walk with God as greater than their earthly engagements.

Beloved, whatever you have is of God, therefore, you are only a steward of God’s resources. Your giving into God’s work is God sponsoring and advancing His Kingdom mandate through you.
What can you give into God’s assignment that He didn’t give to you?

Refusing to be a radical giver is failing to be a faithful steward. This is the secret of giving willingly.

THE BREASTPLATE OF FAITH AND LOVE 2 –

THE BELIEVER’S THREEFOLD CORD ARMOR 3

“But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.”

    1 Thessalonians 5:8 (KJV)

The deceptive strategy of the devil is to weaken the confidence of your heart towards the Lord’s coming.

He has never changed his strategy, because that is his greatest and most effective weapon.

However, God has given us more abounding gears for our defense.

Yours is to put them on.

God has given you faith and love (which produces His righteousness) as breastplate. Some believers are waiting for God to dress them up with this defensive armor.

As God has made provision for this armor, your responsibility is only to put them on.

Clearly, the misconceived thoughts of the Lord’s coming may create anxiety or fear. Paul the apostle didn’t want the saints to live in fear. He didn’t want their heart to be troubled. This is why he admonished them to remain sober and to put on the breastplate of faith and love.

To put on the breastplate of faith and love is to walk in the confidence of God’s grace and love towards you.

Jesus before His death and ascension, spoke these words to His disciples:

“Do not let your heart be troubled (afraid, cowardly). Believe [confidently] in God and trust in Him, [have faith, hold on to it, rely on it, keep going and] believe also in Me.” John 14:1 (Amplified Bible)

The solution to a troubled heart or fear is faith in the Lord.

Instead of being worried or surrendering to your fear of the times, live in the confidence of Jesus’ love towards you.

You came to Christ and received His righteousness by faith in Him. You continue to walk in the consciousness of faith by faith and love towards God. Your love towards God is also a result of the richness of His love towards you.

“In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation [that is, the atoning sacrifice, and the satisfying offering] for our sins [fulfilling God’s requirement for justice against sin and placating His wrath].” 1 John 4:10 (Amplified Bible)

Your life in Christ should be lived according to the supply of God to you and not according to your self-engineered efforts.

The daily happenings around you are designed to engender anxiety in your heart. However, you become insulated when faith and love abound in your heart.

The love of God in your heart is the greatest force that protects you and resists every projectile of the adversary.

Don’t live by what you feel. Live a life of faith towards God and according to the expression of His love.

    Hallelujah!

    REFUSE TO FEAR ANY EVIL

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”

    Psalm 23:4 (NKJV)

To walk in the valley of the shadow of death, is to be overwhelmed or hedged in and surrounded by some dark experience intended to create fear of destruction.

This “valley of the shadow of death” is not the dwelling or destination of the believer. When you find yourself in such situations, know that you are not dwelling there. You walk through it!

The “shadow of death” speaks of the “grave” (figuratively calamity). Well, in the midst of such situations, you have a greater assurance.

You are under the care of the Good Shepherd. His presence with you is your confidence and audacity.
Don’t get troubled and feel threatened because you are confronted by a difficult situation. Yours is to trust the GOOD SHEPHERD.
In your most difficult moments, who do you speak to?

From the first verses of Psalm 23, the Psalmist was addressing his readers, and referred to the Shepherd as the third person – “HE”.

But from verse 4, David begins to refer to the Shepherd in the second person – “YOU”.

He was no longer addressing his readers, he was now addressing his Shepherd.
This reveals how David turned to his Shepherd in his most difficult times.
He makes the Lord his consciousness.
The Lord’s presence does not necessarily eradicate the challenges and the dangers of the adversary. However, the Lord’s presence is the haven of care and defense for you in the midst of the most evil situation.

You may definitely be faced with some challenges and situations which seem difficult, DON’T FEAR ANY EVIL. The adversary may even attempt to cast thoughts of a worse scenario on your mind; but refuse to accept those thoughts.

    Refuse to be discouraged.

Refuse to be afraid for the LORD IS WITH YOU.

Maybe the Lord leads you into a marriage, or to start a business or ministry, and suddenly everything seems to go bad. Refuse to fear evil.

In your family, marriage, business, finances, ministry, career pursuit and journey of success, REMAIN RESOLUTE WITH THIS CERTAINTY THAT THE LORD IS WITH YOU.

You cannot end up as a failure. Don’t accept those thoughts of fear. You will come out of that valley of the shadow of death as a victor!

Remember the RESURRECTION ABILITY OF CHRIST is at WORK IN YOU. Jesus defeated death for you to enjoy the fullness of His life.
You have conquered all powers of death.
    Walk in victory!

    In the name of Jesus!
