    OUR CORE MANDATE IS RECONCILIATION

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

    Matthew 6:33 (KJV)

In the present Church, many have relegated the core mandate of the Church and made the additional benefits of our relationship with God their priority.

Churches today in their bid to help society, have become need-centered rather than Christ-centered.

This has made the present-age, average believer in Christ become focused on his or her individual needs rather than the purpose of Christ.

God is more interested in our individual needs than we are. However, God has a bigger picture and wants us to uphold that picture than our personal needs or interests.

Some people go to Church meetings today, not with the same goal as the first-century Church.

The gathering of the saints is not primarily to meet the self-centred needs of the saints. The gathering of the saints is primarily to equip the saints for the work of the ministry.

“Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.” Ephesians 4:11-12 (NLT)

To do the work of the ministry is to reconcile many to Christ and to disciple them to become the expression of Christ.

As this is achieved, the Kingdom of God expands in the hearts of many.

The goal of the adversary transcends you. The goal of the adversary is to attack your accomplishments in the Kingdom.

He knows that when he can get you depressed, afraid, troubled, and wearied, you will not be able to do the things God wants you to do. When you are not able to stand against his evil schemes and enforce your victory in Christ, you will not be able to shine the glorious light of the Kingdom in the dark places.

The adversary knows that if he could make you live occupied with your personal needs, you will not have the focus of the Kingdom.

When the satisfaction of your personal needs becomes your goal and cravings, Christ will not be at the center of your heart.

Let God (who is your loving Father) take care of your needs, as you set your affection and focus on His assignment for your life.

This was one of the key secrets of King Solomon. He set his focus on his assignment as Israel’s king. He didn’t request personal things but the wisdom to rule God’s people, and God blessed him with wealth and riches.

“Moreover, I will give you what you did not request—both riches and honor—so that during all your days no man in any kingdom will be your equal.” 1 Kings 3:13 (Berean Standard Bible).

Pay attention to what Jesus said:

“So then, forsake your worries! Why would you say, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ For that is what the unbelievers chase after. Doesn’t your heavenly Father already know the things your bodies require?
“So above all, constantly chase after the realm of God’s kingdom and the righteousness that proceeds from him. Then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly.”
     Matthew 6:31-33 (TPT)

We are at war with the forces of darkness to enforce our victory in Christ and to fulfill God’s kingdom plan.

Have a bigger perspective on this spiritual warfare.

You are not wrestling against the evil strategies of the accuser (including all his highest evil principalities and authorities operating in rebellion under the heavenly realms) because of your personal needs.

You are wrestling against powerful class of demon-gods and evil spirits that hold this dark world in bondage, because of the mandate of the Kingdom.

The expansion of God’s Kingdom in the hearts of men and the dark places of the earth should be your focus.

Whatever gift or ability God has given you is for the benefit of the Body of Christ, through the assembly He has placed you.

You don’t have to think you are in the Church by mistake. He placed you in a unique assembly for the growth of the entire body. You are positioned in that specific place in the Body for you to be useful as God has intended.

There is a reason God did not place the toes on the shoulders. How will the toes on the shoulder be useful to the body?

God placed each unique part of the body at its right place for effective use and relevance.

God has set you up in your “Local Church” or within a unique “Ministry Assembly” for your effective function.

All that God has made you and given you are for His use within the Church.

There are some whom God has made to be apostles, prophets, or teachers in the Church. Others are also set up by the Lord to be helpers, administrators, and a gift of healings.

These are expressions of grace and must be for the glory of God.

“For everything comes from God and exists by His power and is intended for his glory…” Romans 11:36 (NLT).

The whole body depends on that gift or grace given to you to function effectively.

Don’t complain and be tired of the needs which gravitate towards you. You are set up in the body at such a time to be an answer to those needs.

It is by God’s design that you always have the desire to HELP. You are an answer to the financial needs of the Church. Keep giving!

Your special grace for administration is to create an organised system for the growth of the Church. Be diligent with it.

God did not set everyone in the Church to be an apostle or prophet or special teacher (though everyone must teach, every teacher needs one with a special teaching grace).

You are in the body of Christ at such a time as this, to serve through your “local Church” or “Ministry Assembly“. Your various service or unique functions contributes to the growth and expansion of the Kingdom of God.

NOW COMFORT AND EDIFY ONE ANOTHER WITH THIS 1

“Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.”

    1 Thessalonians 5:11 (KJV)

The Church, from her inception, has suffered hostility, threats, political persecution, philosophical persecution, and both mental and physical torture.

All these are attempts to crush and destroy the mission of the Church.

    Take note:
The Church is the aggregation of all the saints in Christ.
Therefore, don’t think of the Church as an institution separated from you. You are part of the very constitution of the Church. The Church is the body of Christ, the herald of God’s eternal purpose. The city is set on the hill, giving hope to a hopeless world. The Church is the torch of God in a world overwhelmed by gross darkness. It is the divine salt pack that preserves and gives taste to the earth.

This is why the adversary has always seen the Church as a threat.
There have been attempts to destroy the Church through heretical and deceptive doctrines.

Matters that are to bring hope to the Church were diluted with error. And it’s with the intention to corrupt the hope of the saints and produce fear in their hearts.

Over the centuries, the news of Jesus’s coming has been seen as news of doom for all mankind.

However, the coming of Jesus is a day of hope, joy, and the full manifestation of glory for those in Christ.

If you have followed these episodes on 1 Thessalonians 5, you should be established in this certainty: the believer is not appointed for wrath but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus, who died for us.

Paul the apostle addressed the matter of the coming of our Lord Jesus to comfort the hearts of the saints.

No matter how the people of the world will mock, persecute,  or attack the Church, we must be comforted with the reality that our Lord cometh.

Take a look at verse 11 of 1 Thessalonians 5, again:

“Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.”

The sentence begins with “Wherefore”, the Greek word is “dio”, which simply means, “therefore”, or for which cause or consequently.

The word “dio” or “Wherefore” as used in the verse is a logical connector. It introduces an explanation that emphasizes the logical outcome or necessity of an action or belief.

Paul the apostle used “wherefore” in the verse to draw an inference from what he had previously stated.

This explains that as believers we are to comfort and edify one another on the grounds of this truth that:
    – God has not appointed us to wrath.
    – He has appointed us to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus, who died for us.
    – And that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with the Lord Jesus.

No believer is to threaten another believer with the coming of Jesus.

Instead, we are instructed through the epistles to comfort one another with the news of the coming of Jesus.

    Hallelujah!

THIS JESUS 5 — Jesus in the “Tanakh”

“Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.”

    Acts 17:3 (KJV)

In the present day Israel, and other Jewish communities around the world, some Jewish leaders have forbidden their fellow Jews from reading the New Testament (Brit Hadashah).

Even with the reading of the Tanakh in their synagogues, some exclude certain Messianic scriptures.
The Tanakh is the Jewish sacred book, just as we have the Bible as a sacred book. The TaNaKH is an acronym, it refers to the three sections of their shared text. The Tanakh (or TaNaKH) consist of:

    – Torah (the Law and the Pentateuch)
    – Nevi’im (the prophets)
    – Ketuvim (the writings)

The Tanakh is what Bible Translators refer to as the “Old Testament” in the Bible.
    Note:

As I have explained, the Old Testament is not Genesis to Malachi. The Old Testament refers to the Covenant which was wrought at Sinai (Exodus 19-20). The Old Testament is not a book of the Bible. The Old Testament is an arrangement of a dispensation at Sinai. The Jewish people must know that the covenant which was initiated at Sinai was not part of God’s promise to Abraham. Thus, that covenant at Sinai was not in God’s plan and was a parenthesis. The real deal was what God established with Abraham. God did not deal with Abraham according to the Old Testament or the “Old Covenant”
He dealt with Abraham according to the Covenant of Promise (See Galatians 3).

It is called “Old” because its effect and function are now obsolete. There is now a New Covenant or Testament. Just as the Prophet Jeremiah declared:

The day is coming,” says the LORD, “when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and Judah. This covenant will not be like the one I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand and brought them out of the land of Egypt. They broke that covenant, though I loved them as a husband loves his wife,” says the LORD. “But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel after those days,” says the LORD. “I will put my instructions deep within them, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people” Jeremiah 31:31-33 (NLT)
These Jews only restrict themselves to the reading of the Tanakh and don’t even attempt to open the New Testament. They don’t know that the New Testament was written to them as well.

The first words in the New Testament portion of the Bible unveil the very core root of the New Testament. The New Testament has its roots in two major covenants:

    1. The Covenant of Promise which God established with Abraham.
    2. And the Everlasting Kingdom Covenant God established with David.

“This is the scroll of the lineage and birth of Jesus, the Anointed One, the son of David and descendant of Abraham.” Matthew 1:1 (TPT).

These covenants were not only limited to Israel or Jews (to be precise) but to all people.

The Anointed One did not come only for the household of Israel but also as the lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world.

The New Testament authors were able to comprehend the concealed reality of God in the Tanakh (Old Testament portion of the Bible), by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit of God gives understanding. It’s the Holy Spirit who moved the prophets to write about Jesus Christ (Messiah) even before His days.

Which means it will take the Holy Spirit to decrypt the words of the Prophets and the scriptures.

The Tanakh (Old Testament) doesn’t contradict the New Testament. Neither does the New Testament contradict the “Old Testament”

The New Testament portion of the Bible is the unveiling of the mysteries in the scriptures.

Most Jews refuse to open the New Testament and it is also a deceptive strategy of the adversary to keep them blinded and their minds veiled from the true revelation of Jesus.

When one turns to the Lord with an open heart, his or her heart and mind will be flooded with the glorious light of truth.

“We are not like Moses, who used a veil to hide the glory to keep the Israelites from staring at him as it faded away. Their minds were closed and hardened, for even to this day that same veil comes over their minds when they hear the words of the former covenant. The veil has not yet been lifted from them, for it is only eliminated when one is joined to the Messiah. So until now, whenever the Old Testament is being read, the same blinding comes over their hearts. But the moment one turns to the Lord with an open heart, the veil is lifted and they see. Now, the “Lord” I’m referring to is the Holy Spirit, and wherever He is Lord, there is freedom.”  2 Corinthians 3:13-17 (TPT)

When you genuinely study the scriptures, it will not move you away from Jesus. A study of the scriptures with an open heart will lead you to Jesus Christ.

The Lord was not exaggerating when He said, “… But the scriptures point to me” John 5:39 (NLT).

    The Psalmist said:

“I long for Your salvation, O LORD, And Your law is my delight.” Psalm 119:174 (NKJV).

The law doesn’t give Salvation, the law will lead you to Salvation. Those who truly delight in Salvation will be led to the Lord. Because the Lord is Salvation.

Maintain an open heart to know the Lord through the scriptures.

The knowledge of the revelation of Jesus is what launches you into the enjoyment of your freedom to participate in the inheritance of the saints in the light.

    THIS JESUS 3

“Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.”

    Acts 17:3 (KJV)

Whenever the scriptures are unfolded you must see Jesus. He is the meaning of the scriptures.

Jesus Christ is the story told in the Old Testament. When you understand that all that was communicated in the Old Testament is to bring every reader to Christ, you will see the oneness of the entire Bible.

Different men, in different historical timeliness and with distinct experiences were inspired by the Holy Spirit to write God’s thoughts with their unique styles of expressions, and had one central theme of thought, Jesus Christ.

These may not have necessarily grasped the full revelation of what they wrote. They might have thought of writing about the situation around them and the possible things which might come, but every bit of it was part of the beautiful story of this Jesus who is the Christ.

He is the central theme of Genesis as the Creator, the Life and the Promised seed.

“In the beginning God created…” (Genesis 1:1).

“All things were made by Him and without Him was not anything made that was made” (John 1:3).

The entire events we witnessed in Genesis through the scriptures, were the unfolding of this utterance of God, “the seed of the woman shall bruise the head of the serpent” (Genesis 3:15).

The goal of the adversary was to destroy the coming of this seed. But God encrypted the appearing of the seed. By a careful study of the scriptures, you will realize that all that the devil was doing from the time Adam and Eve were out of the Garden of Eden, even through Abraham and his descendants even to the time Jesus was born (or the Word became flesh), was to destroy the seed before it germinates.

God was giving His people, hints of the coming of the Seed. Through the writings of the Prophets, the Priests, the Kings, the Judges, and the Psalmists, the Lord was announcing the manifestation of the Seed. The adversary realized through observation that, the seed was going to come from the descendants of Abraham and Jacob, but was many centuries behind what God was doing.

While the devil thought Isaac and his descendants were the Promised Seed, God’s original Seed was encrypted.

The adversary arrived at this conclusion when he heard this:

“And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.” Genesis 12:7 (KJV).

What the adversary didn’t hear was this:

“Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ.” Galatians 3:16 (NKJV)

All that happened from Genesis to the time Jesus was born were testimonies of Him.

“Then he carefully unveiled to them the revelation of himself throughout the Scripture. He started from the beginning and explained the writings of Moses and all the prophets, showing how they wrote of him and revealed the truth about himself.” Luke 24:27 (TPT)

Beloved this is the reason you must rejoice in this season.

“The shepherds returned to their flock, ecstatic over what had happened. They praised God and glorified him for all they had heard and seen for themselves, just like the angel had said.” Luke 2:20 (TPT).

When you see Jesus, you must rejoice. And that is what the scriptures help you to do. To have a picture and accurate revelation of Jesus.

The revelation of Jesus brings you into the reality of God.

Abraham saw Jesus and rejoiced at His coming.

“Your father Abraham rejoiced as he looked forward to my coming. He saw it and was glad” John 8:56 (ESV)

Look at the testimony of Moses:

    “By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.”
     Hebrews 11:24-26 (KJV)

Moses saw the hope of the Messiah, believed in the coming of the Anointed one and treasured it or held it dear than the treasures of Egypt.

The birth of Jesus wasn’t an event that just happened out of the blue.

    Like Matthew said:

“All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet.” (Matthew 1:22)

The entire life of Jesus was the fulfillment of the Prophecies. The prophetic words were the articulation of the plan and purposes of God.

Beloved rejoice at the revelation of Jesus!

    Two things you should glean:

    1. Jesus is the Christ and He is the Lord of all.
    2. The word of God or the Prophecies of the scriptures are true and sure.

Jesus as the fulfilment of Prophecies is the evidence that all that the scriptures had said about the saints or the believers in Christ are true and shall fully be manifested.

Your life is the fulfillment of Prophecies as Jesus. For as He is so are you in this world.

And if you are of Christ, then you are also a seed of Abraham!

    You are a prophetic child.
