BE INSPIRED BY FAITH
“With this in mind, we constantly pray that our God will empower you to live worthy of all that he has invited you to experience. And we pray that by his power all the pleasures of goodness and all works inspired by faith would fill you completely”
2 Thessalonians 1:11 (TPT)
Faith is a great deal in our walk with God.
The scriptures are clear, without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6).
Faith is a divine response in our hearts to God’s supply. It is the present and confident possession of Grace.
Whatever you do as a believer must be by grace through faith.
Faith is demonstrated through your deeds or actions of the word (James 2:18).
Your works must not be according to what you feel.
Anything you do only by how you feel is limited to moments or moods.
It will take your response of faith in God’s gracious supply to do more for Him without any limitation.
All you do for the Lord is reckoned as works. But these works are only credited to God’s goodness when they are Works done by Him.
Whatever you do for the Lord must be what the Lord has already supplied grace for. This then means that the Works you do for the Lord are of Him, because He has already worked them into you.
Thus, your works are not merely works for God but works of God.
The works of God, which are demonstrated through you, are works inspired by faith.
The works which are inspired by faith will always oppose the feeling of the natural mind.
Works inspired by faith are greater works of the Holy Spirit.
Our works must be inspired by faith.
When your works are inspired by faith, they produce eternal value.
Works which are inspired by faith are not things done according to the comfort of men. Works inspired by faith will discomfort your natural self.
Your service to God, your soul winning, your participation in discipleship, your giving into God’s work, your expression of godliness and demonstration of love must be according to the inspiration of faith.
You are inspired by faith through:
– The communication of the word.
Seeing the glorious things men do for the Lord by faith will challenge your heart to do more for the Lord. (Read Hebrews 11)
– Also, the instructions of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will inspire you to do greater things with boldness and faith (Acts 4:31). Whatever the Holy Spirit inspires in your heart is consistent with the revelation and purpose of Jesus. The Holy Spirit will not inspire you to do anything which is not consistent with the purpose of Christ.
– And through men the Lord has set over you. Leaders whose hearts burn for the accomplishments of God’s purpose will inspire you to only do the things which are of Christ (Philippians 2:22).
What you attempt to do for the Lord must be according to the faith He has inspired in your heart.
