EPISODE 901 – WHAT DO YOU SEEK TO ADVANCE?

CHRIST COMMONWEALTH-COMMUNITY

The Love-Life Agency

Of the many things the Lord supplies you for your advantage, one crucial item is GRACE. Grace is for your BEING and it is also for your DOING. Beloved, you must take advantage of the empowerment of Grace to do more for the Lord. Selah.

WHAT DO YOU SEEK TO ADVANCE?

“For it seems as though everyone else is busy seeking what is best for themselves instead of the things that are most important to our Lord Jesus Christ”

Philippians 2:21 (TPT)

Being born again does not mean you automatically have the interest of the Lord’s Kingdom at heart.

Some people were born again because they only want to enjoy the goodness of the Lord.

Some were born again to escape Hell and condemnation.

To be born again is more than escaping Hell or condemnation. To be born again is more than being delivered from the power of darkness.

To be born again is also to be translated into the Kingdom of the Son of God. (Colossians 1:13).

You are not translated into the Kingdom to be a spectator. You are translated into the Kingdom to be a participant.

We are not in the Kingdom to only live in the glory of the Kingdom. We are in the Kingdom to also partake in the labour and the afflictions which come with the gospel.

Paul said to his Son Timothy, “Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God 2 Timothy 1:8 (KJV)

You are not in the Kingdom to serve your selfish interest. You are in the Kingdom to serve the purpose of the Lord.

Though the Lord wouldn’t force or coerce you to serve His interest, He expects you to make His interest your interest.

You have the choice to advance your interest or to advance the interests of Christ.

Advancing the interest of Christ may attract persecution and some discomfort. And not many are willing to make the necessary sacrifices. They want to satisfy their belly and not discomfort themselves.

They will choose sleep over intercession. They will choose hangouts with friends over preaching the gospel.

They will esteem their career over being carriers of the glorious gospel of Jesus. They will prefer to be politically correct to save their jobs, rather than to shine as the light of the gospel in their communities.

Such people attend Church meetings for the miracles and not for the interest in Christ. They sit in Church to hear about what the Lord will do for them. The material blessings they want to enjoy are more important than the salvation of souls.

They are interested in their academic success, promotion in the workplace, travelling opportunities, marriage, and increased bank balance, and are willing to do whatever it takes to advance these interests. This is why they even pray.

Don’t be quick to look away from your heart. Don’t point fingers at anyone. Take a moment and consider your walk with God.

When you stand before the Lord, will you be able to boldly say that you have lived this year or this month serving His interest?

I am not asking you to think about how you saved Him two years ago or even last year.

I am asking you to think about how you have served or advanced the Lord’s interest this month.

At the end of this week and this month, what will you be able to say you achieved for the Lord?

Read Paul’s testimony of Timothy’s example:

“For I have no one like him [no one of so kindred a spirit] who will be so genuinely interested in your welfare and devoted to your interests. For the others all seek [to advance] their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ (the Messiah). But Timothy’s tested worth you know, how as a son with his father he has toiled with me zealously in [serving and helping to advance] the good news (the Gospel)“. Philippians 2:20-22 (AMPC)

What do you seek to advance?

Your interests or the interests of Jesus (which is the advancement of the gospel)?

Selah.

Unfortunately I haven’t advanced the kingdom of Jesus much this year. I take a stand now to fully advance the kingdom
