BE THOU AN EXAMPLE
Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
1 Timothy 4:12 (NKJV)
One of the major challenges you find in our society today is true leadership. Leaders define the state and direction of the society.
The lack of godly leadership, even from the family level, determines the state of the society.
Leaders help the community or society find the right strategic compass. In Jesus, we saw the true meaning and essence of Kingdom Leadership. And Kingdom-centred leadership was what our Lord knew the society needed.
It was part of His heartbeat.
“And seeing the crowds, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and downcast like sheep without a shepherd“ Matthew 9:36 (Legacy Standard Bible).
When Jesus saw the multitudes, He knew their challenge was the lack of Kingdom leaders who would truly care for their state.
Ultimately, Jesus came not just as the Life-giver, but also as the true and great Kingdom shepherd (leader) who will bring us into fulfilment of the eternal purpose of God. And before His ascension, He mandated the saints to make disciples of all the nations (Matthew 28:19).
This was a call to leadership. As the true meaning of Kingdom leadership, He made disciples (students) and now, He mandated His disciples to go forth to also demonstrate true Kingdom leadership, by making disciples.
He sent His disciples to go into the world to lead the nations. When you come into Christ, you have a CALL TO LEAD YOUR GENERATION.
Very few people are conscious and determined to fulfill this great call to leadership.
I love what the author of Hebrews has to say:
“You have been believers so long now that you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again…“ Hebrews 5:12 (NLT).
As believers, we have to mature and take up the responsibility to LEAD.
This was what Paul said to Timothy:
“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.“ 1 Timothy 4:12 (KJV).
The keyword is EXAMPLE, it’s from the Greek word,“TUPOS”, which means, style or resemblance; specifically a sampler (type) that is a model (for imitation), a fashion, figure, form, or a pattern. (See Strong’s Bible Dictionary).
This point us to the function of true Kingdom Leadership. Thus, to be an example is to be a kingdom leader. You don’t have to allow anyone to despise you as a youth. Instead, be their leader, be the one everyone will look up to.
Be a leading example in word, in manner of life, in love, in spirit, in faith, and purity.
No wonder Jesus said, You are the light of the world and the salt of the earth.
You have a call of God on your life to LEAD YOUR GENERATION, take a STEP TO MAKE IT HAPPEN.

– Thanking the Lord for the privilege to lead our generation unto His Kingdom agenda.

This episode sparks the desire for kingdom leadership in the heart of every reader.
It is awesome to read 1 Timothy 4:12
I memorized this verse sometime ago but the light in the verse has been dispensed into my heart.
In Matthew 9: 36
The burden of Kingdom leadership was shown in the language of Jesus. He was moved with compassion for He saw that the people we like sheep without a kingdom leader.
So He raised men, taught them the way of leadership and asked them to make students out of the world.
This is my calling
I am a kingdom leader

This scripture teaches me that one of the core virtues needed to be an example of Christ and to lead my generation is love
Love for God, His Kingdom, His people…
Glory to God, that the love of God is shared abroad in our hearts, therefore I love as Christ loves

Yeah, anyone that comes into Christ has a mandate to lead. Mmm it took me a long while to be opened to this reality. As a shy and very reserved person, I never knew I could handle any leadership assignment until I gave myself wholly to kingdom training and kingdom service.
There is a leader in every man. As we submit to kingdom traning and heeding to instructions, we are awakened on the inside unto shining forth.
Thank you Lord Jesus for the opportunity to lead my generation.
