LEAD YOUR SPHERE 1
“But we will not boast beyond our measure, but within the measure of the area of influence which God apportioned to us as a measure, to reach even as far as you.”
2 Corinthians 10:13 (Legacy Standard Bible)
There are many people who assume they are not called to lead. And some of these thought patterns stem from an age long philosophy.
Which simply emphasises the concept that “Not all are born to lead…”
The question is, can we confirm this concept as the concept and ideology of God?
Did God create some people to be leaders and others to be followers?
Before the creation of man, God communicated His concept of who man is:
“Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1:26 (ESV)
Man was not made to be inferior. Man was made to lead, to rule and to have dominion.
God is not just a creator, He is also the King of the universe.
To be made in the image and likeness of God is to have the quality or capacity to function as a leader.
If you are reading this now, I want you to know that God designed you to be a leader.
You may not have all the qualities to function as a high-level leader or a great leader, but you must understand that you have the ability to lead.
And if you have the ability to lead, then you can become a great leader or rise to a high level of leadership when you are able to strengthen your weaknesses and sharpen your strengths.
Every human being has a certain level of capacity to lead. However, the moment you develop faith in God and submit your heart to Him, you begin to journey into true Kingdom leadership.
You can fully operate or function according to God’s design, to the degree to which you respond to Him in faith.
When God looks at you, He sees one with the capacity to lead.
Abraham lived all his life as an ordinary man until God called him out of his kindred. That call of God moved Abraham from his comfort zone and limited thoughts to become a great patriarch and a leader of many generations.
Gideon never saw himself as a mighty man or as a leader. But when God looked at him, He saw a mighty leader (Judges 6:12).
The disciples of Jesus lived as ordinary youths, but within them is the capacity to function as Kingdom leaders. Through an effective discipleship program for three years, Jesus nurtured His disciples to become conduits of a great global and transgenerational movement.
He was able to establish an eternal mandate (the Church) on earth through these young men. He sent them out to go forth into all the world (every sphere of influence) to make disciples and transform them into transformational leaders. (Matthew 28:19).
This is the charge for every believer: we are called into Christ and mandated to function as transgenerational leaders, raising more Kingdom leaders and making an eternal impact.
Jesus calls you the light of the world, a city set on a hill.
This is who you are!
As a light, you have to shine and illuminate the very place you find yourself.
Your sphere is your world, and God has designed and deposited into you the ability to lead in the sphere He has placed you in.
You are not called to lead tomorrow, you have the mandate to lead now. You are not going to become a leader, you are a leader now.
Take a stand today and lead your world.
