APPRECIATE AND HONOR YOUR LEADERS 1
Â
“And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you”Â
1 Thessalonians 5:12 (KJV)
Whiles Paul the apostle was admonishing the saints concerning how they are to cooperate and conduct themselves as they behold the coming fo the Lord, he included the need for the saints to have a deep appreciation for their leaders who labour in ministry for them.
It may seem as though the discussion from verses 1 to 11 and verse 12 (of 1 Thessalonians 5) have no logical connection.
There is a lot of deep practical connection between being watchful, sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and hope and honoring your leaders.
Remember your watchfulness and sobriety are matters of spiritual warfare as well. And if we are asked to put on the breastplate of faith and hope, then we are being reminded that our walk of faith is a military service.
As soldiers of our Lord Jesus we don’t fight disorderly for the interest of Christ. Within every military system honor or respect is a strong code, which must not be broken.
No army can succeed when they don’t honor their leaders. As we behold the coming of the Lord we must be a people who honor and appreciate our Leaders.
The Lord’s army will not be able to fight the fight of faith properly when they have no respect, for the Kingdom officers or the leaders appointed by the Lord Jesus (who is our Chief Commander).
As you are in the Lord’s army, you must first learn to respect your leaders in order to fight well.
At the new believers’ class, they must be taught to respect, honor, and appreciate their Leaders.
In this disorderly generation who have no regard for order and authority, believers are tempted to think and live without honor. Most believers act like people of the world and abuse or disrespect their leaders just because of “freedom of speech”.
Kingdom Leadership is deeply rooted in God’s love and has nothing to do with selfishness.
Anyone appointed to lead God’s people has a primary responsibility to serve the purpose of the Lord Jesus for His people.
It is a journey of impact and transformation, characterized by the labour of God’s unconditional love, relentless selfless sacrifices, pursuit of God’s will and purpose for His people.
For one to fulfill his assignment as a true Kingdom Leader, there is a kind of mindset and understanding that such a person must possess and demonstrate:
–Â A True Kingdom leader does not live for himself but for the Lord and those the Lord has sent him to serve.
“So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.” 1 Thessalonians 2:8 (ESV)
The life of every true Kingdom leader is spent for God’s people.
– A true Kingdom Leader has sacrificed his life on the altar of service. He doesn’t esteem his life above any other, his joy is that others are transformed and blessed. And that is the example our Lord Jesus, whom we follow, came to show us.
“But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.” Acts 20:24 (NLT)
– The labour of a true Kingdom Leader is as the pain of parturition until the lives of the people they lead becomes as Christ.
“You are my dear children, but I agonize in spiritual ‘labor pains’ once again, until the Anointed One will be fully formed in your hearts!” Galatians 4:19 (TPT)
Beloved, such a person who agonizes for your spiritual growth must be appreciated and honored.Â
Some people don’t honor or appreciate their leaders because they don’t see the importance of their spiritual life. They belittle and refuse to acknowledge the spiritual investment their leaders make in them.
Be different!
Be a true New Testament believer who appreciates and honors his or her leaders as they behold the coming of the Lord.

Thank you Lord for my Leader.
Honor gives you the opportunity to draw from your leader all his spiritual deposits without struggling in praying for them it is one of the spiritual currency one can use to gain a lot of graces
Dishonor rather puts one on the wrong side of the equation because if your leaders heart is not with you they cannot teach and bless you with in-depth things even prayer cannot get you
Honor is one of the spiritual currencies one can use to gain a lot of graces!
Gloreeeeyyyy
Seriously!
I make honor lead me even when the situation favors me and I am not given the necessary credit, I still make sure the honor code is not broken whiles I make my appeal
Thank you Lord for my leader

Thank you My Lord and my God for this great opportunity to serve you through my leader. I refuse to be ungrateful towards my leader.
Thank you for this masterpiece Sir. These are high spiritual instructions I cannot overlook.
In our Christiandom, honor is a code for God’s exaltation of men. I’ve gleaned much verities and I’m really blessed.
Allow men to venerate those they want to because of their labour of impact in their lives. Also honour is even to one another.
I take delight in honouring my leaders.
This current world is very disorderly and dishonouring and it is dragging many believers. The role of spiritual leaders I is considered a complete fiasco.
But as part of the armour pieces of hope and love we are admonished to honour they who labour among us and THOSE OVER us. Because they spend their lives for us until Jesus Christ is formed and seen in us. They serve by first sacrificing their lives on God’s alter. Jesus said His life meaningless unless its serves God’s purpose.
Such leaders deserve to be honoured. This is very accurate and part of God’s will.
The definition of a KINGDOM leader is Mind blowing.
SELFLESSNESS is what i could summarize the definition of a True Leader.
thank you Lord for Apostle Bennie
I walk in honor towards my leader
I don’t belittle the instructions and the authority of my leader.

Glory to God
I learn the way of honor
I honor my leaders
