THE MINDSET OF THE ANOINTED 2
“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound”
Isaiah 61:1 (KJV)
Beloved in Christ, as you received salvation through faith in Christ, you were also stamped with the Holy Spirit. There is no believer in Christ who is not anointed by God through the Holy Spirit.
In as much as every born-again is anointed by God, it doesn’t mean every believer will automatically achieve greatness.
You must maintain the mindset which makes things happen.
Those who do great things in the Kingdom did not receive greater anointing than those who do nothing.
They were simply intentional about the anointing.
There is no doubt that no believer will be able to accomplish any great thing without the anointing of God’s Spirit. The anointing of God’s Spirit is the ability of God which enables you to do what He has called you to do.
Yesterday’s discussion is to help you understand these three things:
1. You received the anointing as you got saved and received the Holy Spirit.
2. Every believer received the same capacity of the anointing.
3. The anointing doesn’t work automatically. This point has even been reaffirmed at the beginning of this episode.
As an anointed one, you must also have the mindset that the anointing of God is for service. The anointing is not just for personal gain but to fulfill God’s purpose.
This is how you experience the manifestation of the anointing.
Jesus, when He entered the synagogue read a scripture from the book of Isaiah (Luke 4:16-19).
He actually read from Isaiah 61:
“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.” Isaiah 61:1-4 (KJV)
From these verses, you will notice some key items of the anointing.
These things the Prophet Isaiah mentioned give clarity on the impact of the anointing:
– The operation of the anointing of the Lord through you gives evidence of the Lord’s Spirit upon you. In as much as Jesus came on earth as the Son of God, He ministered through the anointing.
– One of the key impacts you make with the anointing is preaching the glorious gospel of Jesus. Jesus was also clear on this when He asked His disciples to tarry.
He said;
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Acts 1:8 (KJV)
This wasn’t an instruction to some special people. It’s an instruction to every disciple of Jesus.
There are some who think the preaching of the Gospel is not for them. That is a wrong mindset. As long as you are anointed of the Lord, you must be a witness of Jesus no matter your career or professional pursuit.
Everyone who believes in Jesus, shares in the outpouring of the Spirit. Peter said to the multitudes on the day of Pentecost:
“For God’s promise of the Holy Spirit is for you and your families, for those yet to be born and for everyone whom the Lord our God calls to Himself.” Acts 2:39 (TPT)
What this means is that anyone who believes in Christ receives the Spirit. And anyone who receives the Spirit must be a witness.
You must be a preacher of good tidings or the goodness of Jesus.
You can be anointed and not be involved in the preaching of the gospel. Such people make the anointing irrelevant. Thus, they also become irrelevant in God’s Kingdom.
– The anointing makes you a healer or a binder of the broken hearted, or those who are inwardly crashed in pieces. In this crooked and broken generation, there is a need for you (the anointed of the Lord) to take a stand to supply healing to the wounded, depressed and those who are shattered. And this is what the gospel or good news of Jesus does to people. It heals their brokenness.
Also, Jesus came to fulfill this same mandate (Luke 4:21)
And as the Father sent Him, even so, He sends us. (John 20:21).
He has anointed you through the Spirit and sent you into the world in the same capacity the Father sent Him.
Let this be your mindset.
It’s time to bless your world through the anointing of God’s Spirit.
