CHRIST YOUR TRUE PASSOVER

Gleanings From The Passover Week
The Triumphal Entry 1
“Rejoice, O people of Zion! Shout in triumph, O people of Jerusalem! Look, your king is coming to you. He is righteous and victorious, yet he is humble, riding on a donkey— riding on a donkey’s colt.”Zechariah 9:9 (NLT)

This Sunday, some Churches may celebrate the Triumphant entry of Jesus. Some call it the “Palm Sunday”. Interestingly, only few people understand the significance of this event.
The whole week is set in memorial of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.
Sadly, some churches reserve the teachings of Christ and His finished work only for the Easter Celebration. Afterwards they go about teaching their own doctrines.

“I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.”
Galatians 1:6-10 (KJV)

There is only one message we have which is CHRIST. The gospel and revelation of our Lord Jesus is the centricity of the message of the Church.
In the Gospel of Jesus:
– The victory of the New Creation is unveiled.
-You will behold your success.
-You will embrace the love of God and His eternal forgiveness.
-You will become conscious of the higher life God has called you to live.
– Believers will enjoy the life God has intended for them and be relevant in the Kingdom business.

It’s important to comprehend the truth of God about you in Christ.

For the truth about you is Christ.
Only few people have got into serious study of the Word. And have made it their intention to commit themselves to the ministration of the Word through the Spirit.
Even some Teachers and Pastors are finding it difficult to rightly divide the word because, they have not given themselves to the Spirit of the Word. The Church meetings ought to be times where believers are trained into maturity in the knowledge of Christ.
It is not the sharing of the knowledge of human idealism and philosophies.

“See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ” Colossians 2:8 (ESV)

“And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.” 1 Corinthians 2:1 ( KJV).

Teachers of the Word are not to fix their interests in the peddling of the truth (2 Corinthians 2:17) but should administer the mind of God. Those whom Christ died for deserve to receive and enjoy the treasures of the Lord.
Believers shouldn’t engage themselves in activities and celebrations without understanding. Whatsoever is written in the Word has its purpose and should be understood.
Every year in the month of Nisan, the Jews had their Passover Celebration. This Celebration is focused on God’s powerful message to the world. This was when God delivered the children of Israel from Egypt through the BLOOD OF THE PASSOVER LAMB.
Now we have Jesus, who is the substance of the sacrifices and the Jewish festivals.

“Therefore let no one judge you in regard to food and drink or in regard to [the observance of] a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day. Such things are only a shadow of what is to come and they have only symbolic value; but the substance [the reality of what is foreshadowed] belongs to Christ.” Colossians 2:16-17 (Amplified)

The Passover lamb in Exodus 12 foreshadowed Jesus who is the PERFECT PASSOVER.
The triumphal entry was a preparation for the Passover Week and for the death and resurrection of Jesus.
The very day that Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the colt of a donkey was the 10th day of Nisan (See both Exodus 12 and John 12).
That day is known among Jews as the “Lamb Selection Day”.
Wow!
It was on this day that the lamb that were going to be used in the Temple for the Passover were brought into Jerusalem.
At the first passover which took place in Egypt, God instructed the Israelites to take each lamb into each home to be inspected or scrutinized. The lamb was scrutinized for 4 days. This was to check if the lamb is suitable for the sacrifice. It should be blameless and also be a male of the first year. (See Exodus 12:1-5). The lamb with no blemish will be slained on the 14th day of Nisan.
This is beautiful!
Beloved, Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the Lamb Selection Day, which is the 10th Day of Nisan. He rode into His household. He was scrutinized by them even unto the 14th day.
In Exodus 12 it was stated that the passover lamb had to be examined. Jesus who is the lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29) was scrutinized or examined by the highest authorities in the land.
Herod (the king) scrutinized Him, Caiaphas (the High Priest), and even Pontius Pilate. Pontius Pilate represented the entire body of Gentiles and the whole world. Remember Rome was ruling the world by then. Jesus was without blemish at all levels of laws, regulations and scrutiny.
Jesus really died for all sins. He satisfied all laws. He was even judged beyond the law of Moses and was still blameless.
Oh what a perfect lamb the Father prepared for us to satisfy all the demands of Justice.
Yet on the 14th day of Nisan, at exactly 9am in the morning, Jesus was nailed to the cross. As the animals were taken into the temple to be sacrificed. Exactly the time set for the last lamb to be killed by the High Priest, at 3pm, Jesus cried out “IT IS FINISHED” and He gave up His Spirit.
Nobody took His Spirit from Him. You see just as the High Priest was the one to kill the last lamb, the same happened with Jesus. It was Caiaphas who initiated His death; and on the cross, Jesus who is also our High Priest, gave up His Spirit.
Hallelujah!
Jesus is the Perfect lamb that was CONDEMNED ONCE and for ALL.
My dear in Christ, you should know that as the lamb of God was judged for you; God CANNOT CONDEMN You.
SHALOM!
DIG DEEPER
(Exodus 12; John 12; Luke 24:27; hebrews 8:5; Hebrews 9:9; 1 Corinthians 5:6-8)

WE PRAY:
Thanking the Lord for our Lord Jesus who bore all our iniquities and justified us through His blood.
