SIXTEEN PROJECTILES TO INTERCEPT 3
“We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair”
2 Corinthians 4:8 (ESV)
Knowledge and understanding put you a step ahead of the schemes of the adversary. The projectiles in this discussion don’t work in isolation of you. These work through the way your thoughts are shaped.
You don’t resist or intercept these projectiles only by how you shout the name of Jesus or cast out a demon. You intercept these projectiles by how you think. Until your thoughts are consistent with the knowledge of God, you will become prey to the schemes of the adversary.
With the right mindset, you can live above these two things:
1. Disappointment
Today we take a look into the third item:
3. Despair!
This is the peak of disappointment and discouragement. When you allow yourself to be drenched in disappointment and discouragement you get to the phase of being despair.
To be in despair is to be in a state of despondency or to feel utterly hopeless.
This state crushes you into wretchedness and defeatism or gloominess.
This is why you have to address the issue of disappointment and discouragement before they get rooted in your heart.
Challenges and situations may come to triggered such state, but don’t yield to it. You have to make a choice to take advantage of the power of God that no matter the pressure, you will not be demoralized.
David was confronted by a challenge, he did weep but refused to be beaten into a state of despair. He encouraged himself in the Lord.
Let me touch on this a little:
To encourage yourself amidst such moments of discouragement and disappointment is not merely to give yourself a positive speech or to be self-motivated. As people of the Kingdom of God, we function differently. We operate or do things according to the word of the Lord. You don’t encourage yourself in your own strength and ability. You encourage yourself in the Lord. To encourage yourself in the Lord is to turn to the strength of God. It is to exercise confidence in who God is and what He is able to do.
You cannot prevail by your strength.
“He will protect his faithful ones, but the wicked will disappear in darkness. No one will succeed by strength alone” 1 Samuel 2:9 ( NLT)
With the strength of the Lord, you will not be demoralized no matter the projectiles of the adversary.
Take a look at the opening scripture above again, but in the Passion Translation:
“Though we experience every kind of pressure, we’re not crushed. At times we don’t know what to do, but quitting is not an option” 2 Corinthians 4:8 (TPT).
To be in despair is to quit.
Beloved, no matter the disappointment and discouragement refuse to quit.
All that the adversary is looking for is to get you in a position where you will quit. Some quit in life and commit suicide. Others quit by ending a project or ministry the Lord inspired them to execute.
Generations depend on you, be inspired to action

I understand that through knowledge and understanding i distinguish myself. It is more about my mindset in dealing with many of the schemes of the devil. Shouting the name of Jesus without the appropriate knowledge will only leave me a defeated new creation.
Dispair is the highest of disappointments and discouragements. Despair means i have quitted. To encourage myself in the Lord means drawing strength in my union with the Lord.
No matter what, I will not quit because i draw norishment from the Lord’s strength. Oh this machaira has stirred more love in my heart for the Lord. I love you Jesus
