NAVIGATING FAITH DURING ELECTION 3
“so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.”
Philippians 2:15 (New Living Translation)
The life of a believer is a life of faith. Faith is not only a title deed or a substance of things hoped for. It is also a believer’s ability to demonstrate the character of God.
Faith is living the word of God or expressing the wisdom of God.
The present world is morally crooked and spiritually perverse. The ideologies of this world are influenced by the darkness and selfishness in the hearts of men.
Jesus came to bring us into His light and to make us light beings so that we shall be examples of glory in this world.
“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light” (Ephesians 5:8)
As beacons of light in this world and your society or sphere of contact, you can’t live, think and behave as the world.
Your attitude within a tense political season should be the demonstration of the Spirit of Christ and not the display of this empty world.
You must be an example with your conduct and speech.
This should be your behaviour before, during and after the election.
Don’t allow filthy conversation out of your mouth.
“But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.” Colossians 3:8 (KJV)
Don’t let yourself be manipulated by any of the parties. Your political candidate preference shouldn’t define your attitude. As long as your interest will gravitate towards a particular candidate you may be tempted to take offense when an opposing opinion becomes denigrating.
Don’t allow bitterness, anger or malice in your heart. Demonstrate the wisdom of the word of God.
“Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.” (Ephesians 4:31)
A man of faith doesn’t waste words. Direct your thoughts and genuine opinions or ideas to a like-minded believer. Spending time to engage in discourse with a fool is not profitable.
“A rebellious fool will despise your wise advice, so don’t even waste your time—save your breath!” Proverbs 23:9 (TPT)
When the election draws near, about 50% of the voters have already made up their minds. Don’t exert any energy to convince anyone.
Again, don’t give room for anxiety; whether before the election during or after, remain resolute.
Paul the apostle was clear on this:
“BE ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING…”
“Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ. So keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always“ Philippians 4:6-8 (TPT).
Instead of anxiety:
– Pray over every detailed concern with thanksgiving
– Saturate your mind with the right thoughts.
Whoever wins or loses shouldn’t define your composure. Let your confidence be deeply rooted in the Lord, not a political party.
Spend time more in prayer for all parties and don’t be boastful.
Amidst all these set your hope in the glorious city of Christ. When Abraham got to the land the Lord promised him, he didn’t see the physical city, he looked forward to the city of God which is beyond. He looked forward to a city with eternal foundations, whose architect and builder is God. (Hebrews 11:9-10).
Though we are in this world and shine forth the light of the Lord, we also have this consciousness:
“For this world is not our home; we are looking forward to our everlasting home in heaven” Hebrews 13:14 (TLB)
Within these times, be the voice of hope joy, comfort and grace. This is the time to direct the hearts of people to the unending glorious kingdom. You don’t have to be distracted, remain focused and turn many unto righteousness (Daniel 12:3) This is the wisdom of God.
Selah
I belong to and operate by the Kingdom of God.
I refuse to set my hope on any political system.
I refuse to set my hope, affection, heart on any political party
God is my focus
Thank You Apostle Sir
I demonstrate my faith, which is the very character of God, in every way I go.
What a kingdom we belong too
Faith, my currency
Whether blue or green, our trust can never be in the world’s system but in Christ and Christ only.
That Christ would be glorified through the winner and that the gospel would have a greater influence in high schools.
Christ the King of the Universe
This reminds me of what Apostle shared at Metamorphoo on 5th December.
Kingdoms Come, Kingdoms Go
Where is the Roman Empire now, and where is the Babylonian Empire, and where is the Persian Empire?
Years ago there were Adolf Hitler, Stalin, Idi Amin, Nkrumah, and Queen Elizabeth. But where are they now?
Thank you Lord Jesus. My ability to demonstrate the character of God is the proof of my faith in God. This election requires me to pray for both parties without ceasing with thanks giving to God that the right person should win and whoever wins does not affect my joy and my composure. My heart is tied to the Lord Jesus and not to any political party. I dont speak foolishly nor loosely about any political party. I am a beacon of hope to my sphere. I guard my tongue carefully and only allow blissful words and grace to proceed out of it. Thank you Jesus for this amazing instruction
I belong to and operate by the Kingdom of God.
I demonstrate my faith in peace in this season through prayers.
Thank you Lord Jesus .
I demostrate the wisdom of the word of God.
I don’t waste words..
Thank you Lord Jesus Christ
God bless you more Apostel Sir
Thank you lord Jesus!!!
I refuse to set in any political party
I belong to the kingdom of God!!!
Glory to God forever more!!
Giving your heart political parties is like giving yourself to empty feeble
God said cursed is the man who puts his trust in another man for God is the one who determines the end from the beginning
Why should I trust in one who has a worm eye view and sees only what is in front of him and behind
And ignore the one who sees ahead of time and had a bird eye view of my life
I demonstrate my faith in peace in this season through prayers. Thank you Lord Jesus
