STEWARDS OF GOD’S RESOURCES 14

“Both riches and honor come from You, And You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; In Your hand it is to make great And to give strength to all. “Now therefore, our God, We thank You And praise Your glorious name. But who am I, and who are my people, That we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from You, And of Your own we have given You.”

2 Chronicles 29:12‐14 (NKJV)

Until you use the things made by God to serve God’s purpose, such things will not find meaning.

The silver, the gold and money as a whole will only find meaning when used to serve God’s purpose.

You don’t have to assume that the money you make is only by your sweat and hard work, thus, you will use it just for your interest.

As people of God, we must acknowledge God as the source of our wealth.

What do you have that you did not receive? (1 Corinthians 4:7)

For all things come from God (see the opening verse again).

If you start thinking to yourselves, “I did all this. And all by myself. I’m rich. It’s all mine!”—well, think again. Remember that God, your God, gave you the strength to produce all this wealth so as to confirm the covenant that he promised to your ancestors—as it is today.” Deuteronomy 8:18 (MSG)

As people of God all that you have is not all yours. Your life is for God’s glory, and all that you have must be used for God’s glory.

Others also think they don’t have enough money to give towards the Lord’s vision. But when your heart is towards the Lord you will always love to give towards His course.

The believers in Macedonia gave generously towards the Lord’s work among the saints. Even with their limited resources.

Now, friends, I want to report on the surprising and generous ways in which God is working in the churches in Macedonia province. Fierce troubles came down on the people of those churches, pushing them to the very limit. The trial exposed their true colors: They were incredibly happy, though desperately poor. The pressure triggered something totally unexpected: an outpouring of pure and generous gifts. I was there and saw it for myself. They gave offerings of whatever they could—far more than they could afford! —pleading for the privilege of helping out in the relief of poor Christians.
This was totally spontaneous, entirely their own idea, and caught us completely off guard. What explains it was that they had first given themselves unreservedly to God and to us. The other giving simply flowed out of the purposes of God working in their lives. That’s what prompted us to ask Titus to bring the relief offering to your attention, so that what was so well begun could be finished up. You do so well in so many things—you trust God, you’re articulate, you’re insightful, you’re passionate, you love us—now, do your best in this, too.”
 2 Corinthians 8:1-7 (MSG)

As long as you have not given yourself to the Lord you wouldn’t even see the need to commit your other resources to his course.

And the more you commit your resources, money or treasure to the Lord, the more your heart is set on Him.

“for where your treasure is, there your heart [your wishes, your desires; that on which your life centers] will be also” Matthew 6:21 (Amplified Bible)

If you want to know where your heart and desires gravitate to, see where you commit the resources at your disposal.

Be a faithful steward of money. Don’t just use money only for your interests and the satisfaction of personal needs, which doesn’t benefit God’s kingdom plan. Use money and other resources to serve God’s Kingdom mandate within your sphere.

At the end of all things, you are going to make an account of how you serve God’s purpose with the resources He entrusted to you.

Do Kingdom business with God’s resources.

Selah.

My life is for God’s glory. This means that everything material and immaterial I posses which bring glory to the Lord should be made available at all times for His use.

Thank you Jesus for this enlightenment.
