PUT ON THE SHIELD OF FAITH 3
“Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”
Ephesians 6:16 (KJV)
Beloved, don’t leave your life in Christ to chance. Just because you are born again and have the victory of Christ, doesn’t mean the adversary will not oppose you.
God gave you His armor so that you will be able to withstand the evil day. The adversary is always going to look for the opportunity to oppress you.
Don’t permit him! He is always scheming to distract your victory and peace in Christ.
This is the spiritual battle waging around you daily. Don’t let down your guard.
It is great to have your loins girt about with truth, put on the breastplate of righteousness and shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel. However, those are not the only armor pieces. To have a strong defense mechanism, you have to SHIELD UP!
FAITH is your SHIELD!
Faith is your absolute confidence in the word of God.
Faith is generated and built through the Word of God.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). No one can have faith without the Word of God.
We will later see that the word of God is the sword. And the shield of faith is the confidence in God through His word.
When the adversary throws fiery darts at you, you must exercise your confidence in what God has said.
Your persuasion and conviction of the word of God is what extinguishes the flaming arrows of the devil.
You must take up the shield of faith with aggression.
The word “take” is from the Greek word, “analambanō”. The word “analambanō“, means to take up a thing to use. It is also from two Greek words, “ana” and “lambanō”.
The word “lambanō” is to actively take to one’s self, lay hold upon or take possession of something and not let go.
This shows the attitude you must have with the SHIELD of Faith. You have to actively take possession of it and not let go.
When you daily take possession of the word, and confidently remain grounded in the persuasion of what He has said, no evil oppressive or depressive arrows or thoughts or imagination can have any impact on you.
SHIELD UP! GIVE NO CHANCE TO THE DEVIL AND HIS SCHEMES!

Also I have a question. usually through the discussions, whenever you split a greek word into two, you provide explanation for both words. The word “lambanō” is to actively take to one’s self, lay hold upon or take possession of something and not let go.”. You did not explain what “ana” meant, I will be glad you shed more light on it. If its of no relevance, then thank you for this wonderful piece.
