THE BREASTPLATE OF LOVE AND FAITH –
The Complete Armor Of God 14
“But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.”
1 Thessalonians 5:8 (NKJV)
The adversary is busily seeking for whom he will devour with his arrows of condemnation, fear and doubt.
The adversary is not a lion, he goes about as a roaring lion. He is toothless and powerless. All he has is his deceptive gear.
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” (1 Peter 5:8)
As believers, we are daily in a spiritual warfare. This warfare is not physical and the weapons of engagement are spiritual.
However, you don’t have to be scared.
Things about warfare shouldn’t put fear in you. They are to bring you to the realization or recognition of things going on in the unseen realm.
The issue is, what do you think amidst this warfare?
Do you think you are alone?
This is what the Lord is saying to you:
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
Oh glory to God.
In the context of 1 Thessalonians 5:1- 11, Paul the apostle was dealing with the posture we should have concerning the times and seasons.
For example, the Church instead of becoming hopeful and joyful about the appearing of the Lord, lived scared of that day.
He explained that the believers are not in darkness but in the light, therefore the day will not be to their disadvantage (1 Thessalonians 5:4-5). As part of his admonishment, Paul the apostle instructed the Church saying:
“But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.” (1 Thessalonians 5:8)
To be sober is to be well-balanced, always alert and clear-headed. And in that state of mind, we must put on the breastplate of love and faith, the hope of salvation as a helmet.
Get this, the only reason the born again has to be afraid of the appearing or “second coming” of Jesus is when he or she has a sense of guilt and feels condemned.
This is why you need the breastplate of righteousness and helmet of salvation.
I have explained previously that, the breastplate of Love and Faith is the same as the breastplate of righteousness.
The breastplate is to guard your thoughts, your mind and your heart from the arrows of fear of condemnation.
Beloved, rejoice! For you are the righteousness of God in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21). You shall not be condemned at the appearing of Jesus.
Put on the breastplate of righteousness and helmet of Salvation now. So that when thoughts of how you will be “left behind” and not qualify to be in Heaven, attempt to pierce your heart and crush your head, you remain heavily defended, impenetrable and immovable.
Hallelujah!
Sober = well-balanced, always alert and clear-headed .
Thank you Lord Jesus, For I shall not be condemned at your appearance
I continuously remain sober as I put on the breastplate of love and faith.
In the name of Jesus. Thank you Lord Jesus
Thank you Apostle Bennie. Gloreey
I am not scared because I don’t have to be scared
I have no sense of fear, guilt, and fear I am justified
I’m not in the darkness, I’m in the light
I’m not in disadvantage
I remain sober
I’m not swayed by the doctrines that bring fear of the end times
I am justified in the name of Jesus… Glory to God
Thank you Lord Jesus
I don’t give my hearing to any doctrine that creates fear of the rapture and the end times.
I was so blessed by this episode. All this while I’ve read 1 Thessalonians 5 without understanding. God bless you Apostle.
Hallelujah
I am of the day
I am sober
For this My hope is built on nothing less but Jesus love and His righteousness
On Christ solid rock I stand all other grounds are sinking and sunk
The breastplate is to guard your thoughts, your mind and your heart from the arrows of fear and of condemnation.
I put on the breastplate of righteousness
To be sober is to be well-balanced, always alert and clear-headed. And in that state of mind, we must put on the breastplate of love and faith, the hope of salvation as a helmet.
There is a state you must assume before you put on the breastplate of righteousness.
I am sober
I am hopeful and joyful about the appearing of the Lord. Glory to Jesus!
I am not in darkness but I’m in the light.
The breastplate is to guard your thoughts, your mind and your heart from the arrows of fear and condemnation.
I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus hence, I cannot be condemned at the appearing of the Lord Jesus. Hallelujah!
No arrow of fear or condemnation will be able to Pierce me.
I don’t give my hearing to any doctrine that creates fear of the rapture and the end times.
I have no sense of guilt and condemnation.
Romans 8:33-34 CEV
[33] If God says his chosen ones are acceptable to him, can anyone bring charges against them? [34] Or can anyone condemn them? No indeed! Christ died and was raised to life, and now he is at God’s right side, speaking to him for us.
