“Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness“
Ephesians 6:14 (KJV)
The armor of God is the core item the Lord has supplied or provided for our living.
The Belt of Truth which is the Word (Logos) of God and the revelation of God in Christ Jesus, is the foundational armor as we have already seen.
We have also begun a discussion on the Breastplate of Righteousness.
The breastplate of righteousness defends your heart against every arrow of condemnation.
This Breastplate of Righteousness is not our self-generated righteousness. This Breastplate of Righteousness is not about your works but the Righteousness imputed to us by God through Christ Jesus.
No arrow of accusation, condemnation, or doubt is sharp and strong enough to penetrate nor cut through this armor.
This is not an armor made of human hands and effort. It is not an armor made of our obedience. The Breastplate of Righteousness is an armor made of God through the obedience of Christ.
“One man’s disobedience opened the door for all humanity to become sinners. So also one man’s obedience opened the door for many to be made perfectly right with God and acceptable to him.” Romans 5:19 (TPT)
By the obedience of Jesus, we have been made righteous.
Let your mind be flooded with this truth.
To be made righteous in Christ is to be imparted with the nature of God and to have the right standing with God.
To be righteous in Christ is to stand in the presence of God without any sense of guilt or condemnation.
“Our faith in Jesus transfers God’s righteousness to us and he now declares us flawless in his eyes. This means we can now enjoy true and lasting peace with God, all because of what our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, has done for us.” Romans 5:1 (TPT)
Now through Christ, we have a perfect relationship with God because we are made righteous in Him.
Beloved, the adversary will seek every opportunity to make you feel condemned and unrighteous.
When he succeeds in attacking your conviction and consciousness of righteousness in Christ, he will break and crush the confidence of your heart.
Don’t doubt your righteousness in Christ. When the adversary attempts to make you doubt your righteousness in Christ, DOUBT that DOUBT.
Put on the breastplate of righteousness!
Your consciousness of the righteousness of Christ in you is an armor which defends you from the arrows of darkness.
Always declare this “I am the righteousness of God in Christ The righteousness of Jesus is my righteousness today”
