— The Spiritual Rules the Physical
“For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places”
Ephesians 6:12 (NLT)
Basically, there are two realms of life. There is the spiritual realm and also the physical realm. The spiritual realm is the root of life’s essence and the physical is for the expression of life. The physical realm is the “seen realm”, while the spiritual realm is the “unseen realm”.
By forensic observation of the material world, one may find the fingerprint of an unseen creator — God. Such fingerprint gives an idea of a realm which transcends this physical or material realm.
“Opposition to truth cannot be excused on the basis of ignorance, because from the creation of the world, the invisible qualities of God’s nature have been made visible, such as his eternal power and transcendence. He has made his wonderful attributes easily perceived, for seeing the visible makes us understand the invisible. So then, this leaves everyone without excuse.” Romans 1:20 (TPT).
This physical world came out of the Spiritual realm.
There is nothing you see in this world which doesn’t have its roots in the spirit.
“By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.” Hebrews 11:3 (NLT)
Therefore you must understand that things don’t just happen in this physical realm. There are spiritual forces which govern the affairs of men.
And that explains why God didn’t make man to only be a physical being without spiritual essence. God designed man to have the ability to function both in the spirit and in this physical realm.
“…Thus says the LORD, who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him“. Zechariah 12:1 (NKJV)

The spirit of man is the innermost or deepest part of man. It is designed for divine contact and divine consciousness.
It is mainly to have rich intimacy with God, for God is Spirit (John 4:24).
Man has a body which serves as the vessel by which he can contact the material or tangible realm and also commune in it. It contains the outward organs of man’s being.
However, God gave man a SOUL for man to effectively function in the spirit and in the physical realm.
The Greek word for soul is “psuche”, from it, we have the English word psychology.
It is the conduit for our psychological perception. It is within your soul that you have your self-consciousness.
It contains your will, intellect (mind) and emotions. It serves as the intermediary between the spirit (which is for contacting God) and the body (which communicates with the outside world).
Your spirit is for Divine or God consciousness, your soul possesses your self-consciousness and the body is for the physical consciousness.
However, the spirit, the soul and the body have their roots and influences in the spirit; because all things issued out of the spirit. As physical as the body is, it also has a level of spiritual intelligence.
Also, you have to know that, anything that will find expression in your body must first take root in your spirit and soul.
Since all created things issued out of the spirit realm, whatever you contact in the physical realm through your body doesn’t just exist in the physical, they have their roots also in the spirit.
For example:
You watched a video clip; which may seem like a mere physical activity. But the video clip has a spiritual influence. Thus, before what you watched in the video will impact your life, it first travels into you to take root in your soul and spirit.
The moment it takes root in your spirit and your soul, it will begin to have a strong influence in you and begin to bear its kind of fruits through you.
Until you understand these, you will not be able to determine how to operate effectively in this physical world.
Be conscious of what influences your life.

The weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood]. Our weapons are divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. 2 Corinthians 10:3.

When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the impure spirit. “You deaf and mute spirit,” he said, “I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.”mark 9:25.
