ARE YOU RUNNING TO GOD OR FROM GOD?

“Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.”

Isaiah 45:22 (ESV)

One of the biggest lies most people have believed is that “Man is God’s enemy”.

This has never been the case. God has never seen man as His enemy.

On the day when the sin of unbelief entered man’s heart, it was man who turned away from God.

And this is what happens always. Men always turn away and run from God because of their sense of guilt and condemnation. And that is what the adversary wants.

He paints a picture of an angry and unforgiving God to people; that governs how they relate or respond to God.

Many are struggling to commune with God or even pray because of their sense of guilt and condemnation.

They stay away from taking any responsibility in Church or even avoid Church meetings completely because of their thoughts of imperfection.

Listen, God is not your accuser, He is your Saviour!

After man had turned from God’s word to believe in the lies of the adversary, sin entered his heart. Corruption entered man’s soul and he began to feel guilty and condemned.

And from that scene in the scriptures, most people assume God was angry with man and rejected man.

The adversary has always been interested in giving you negative pictures and impressions of God’s character.

“Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.
And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?” And he said, “I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.” He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?” Genesis 3:8-11 (ESV)

From the above verse, you will realize it wasn’t God who rejected man; it was man who hid himself from God. Though God knew what had happened to them, He still wanted to connect to man. He came to man, to reach out to them in the garden; and wanted to supply help to them.

In Genesis 3, God unveiled His salvation plan to man (we will look into it later).

No matter your wrongs or mistakes, don’t hide from God. God did not create you to destroy you. No matter the condition of your life, God desires that you will experience Salvation (1 Timothy 2:4).

If you are born again, you are already in God’s hands or arms. Stop looking for ways to flee from God because of your wrongs.

“And I give them eternal life, and they will never, ever [by any means] perish; and no one will ever snatch them out of My hand.” John 10:28 (Amplified).

Maintain the consciousness that nothing shall take you out of God’s hands. Enjoy His loving warmth and the supply of His grace.

Also, if you are not yet born again and you are reading this today, please don’t turn away from God. The best place to run to, with all your imperfections and mistakes, is God’s arms.

In John 8:4-11, Jesus did not accuse nor condemn the adulterer. He forgave her and enabled her not to sin any more.

God is not “after your head”. He is not looking for ways to punish you.
