WORKING THE WORD 4
“So shall my word be, which shall go forth from my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall do whatsoever I please, and shall prosper in the things for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11
(Douay-Rheims Bible)
Until the Word of God is sown in your heart, it will not produce any results in your life.
How well have you conceived the Word in your heart?
Before you become a doer of the Word, your heart must be saturated with the Word.
When the Word of God grows in your heart, it will definitely influence your actions.
The growth of the Word in your heart is the germination and increase of faith in you.
This then makes it necessary to look into the cultivation of the Word. The decision or conviction to cultivate the Word in your heart is the evidence that you trust it.
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” Matthew 7:24 (BSB)
Before you can act on the Word to see results, you have to first receive the Word.
This begins with the hearing of the Word, before action.
“How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?” Romans 10:14 (ESV)
Cultivation is the process of working the word in your heart. This period of cultivation is between the time you heard or received the Word into your heart and the time the Word manifested in your life.
This is the most crucial period of your faith walk.
Most believers don’t pay attention to the season of cultivating the word. You don’t have to be in a hurry to manifest the Word. You have to patiently incubate the word of God in your heart till it matures.
The one who has a strong expectation of a miracle is the one who has patiently cultivated the Word.
Look at the one who produces a huge harvest or great results by the Word:
“And the seeds that fell on the good soil represent honest, good-hearted people who hear God’s word, cling to it, and patiently produce a huge harvest.” Luke 8:15 (NLT)
Here is the process of cultivating the Word:
1. Hear the Word
2. Cling to it
3. And patiently produce the harvest.
You don’t hear a Word from God, go to bed and expect a miracle to happen. You must lay hold of that miracle by laying hold on the Spirit and Life of the Word in your heart.
This process of cultivating the Word is also known as MEDITATION!
It is through meditation of the Word you develop ownership of that Word.
The words you read in the Bible are powerful but don’t produce anything until they germinate in your heart through meditation.
For the Word to transcend from being a text to a life-changing force, there has to be intense meditation.
There are people who know so many verses of the Bible but have little results. You may have the awareness of the scriptures and not walk in the manifestation of what it says.
Psalm 23:1 “The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want”, is one of the most popular verses in the Bible, but how many people are walking in the full manifestation of that word?
They quote it without allowing the life of the Word to be transmitted into their consciousness.
Don’t only be aware of the scriptures, walk in the light of it through meditation.
Hallelujah!
Selah.
