BE EMPOWERED BY GRACE
“But God’s amazing grace has made me who I am! And his grace to me was not fruitless. In fact, I worked harder than all the rest, yet not in my own strength but God’s, for his empowering grace is poured out upon me”
1 Corinthians 15:10 (TPT)
You may feel overwhelmed by the vision or assignment God has given you.
Or you may desire to do more for the Lord, however you may think you don’t have what it takes.
In the realm of God, there are no impossibilities. This is why as a believer in Christ, you are not to think impossibilities, because nothing is impossible to you in the first place.
You are with God therefore all things are possible!
Anything God tells you to do, He makes the provisions for you.
You don’t lack what it takes to do what God tells you to do.
You must therefore learn to trust God and know the things He has supplied to you.
God doesn’t entrust a responsibility into your hands without giving you what you need.
This is why He sent His Holy Spirit to you to partner with you, gave you His word to build you, planted you in an assembly of the saints and placed you under a shepherd to train you.
Of the many things the Lord supplies to you, there is also another crucial item for your advantage – it is GRACE.
You might have heard a lot about the grace of God, right?
To some, the grace of God is just the means by which we are saved (Ephesians 2:8).
And all they think of grace is God’s provision for the sins of men. (There is more to discuss on this later).
The grace of God is not just an unmerited favor; the grace of God is also a divine ability.
In the opening verse, you will see two things the grace of God does.
1. YOU ARE MADE BY GRACE.
“…God’s amazing grace has made me who I am…”
Other translations put it this way, “…I am who I am by the grace of God”
So the apostle of Jesus acknowledges that whatever He has become was by the grace of God not by any other means.
This means the grace of God saves and makes you a new man (2 Corinthians 5:17).
The grace of God changes and transforms your being.
Grace translates you from a corruptible state to an incorruptible state.
2. Second thing is, GRACE EMPOWERS YOU.
To be empowered by grace also shows how grace doesn’t promote laziness.
Paul says, “… and his grace to me was not fruitless…”
Waow…
There is no unfruitfulness in grace. When you receive grace, and you are made by grace you must not be unfruitful.
This is why GRACE EMPOWERS YOU to work harder or to labour more.
It is possible for one to be born again and not take advantage of Grace in His labour.
Grace is for your BEING and it is also for your DOING.
You don’t just have to celebrate the reality of who are by Grace. You must also take advantage of the empowerment of Grace to do more for the Lord.
Shalom
