LET THE PERFECT PEACE OF CHRIST RULE IN YOUR HEART
“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful”.
Colossians 3:15 (NKJV)
The epistles were written to establish us in the consciousness of who Christ is, the reality of what He has done for us, our responsibilities in Christ and how we are to conduct ourselves in the world and among the saints.
Understand that God did not produce a bunch of lazy sons in the Kingdom. With all that Christ achieved for us and supplied to us through His Spirit, there are things we are entrusted to do by the Lord.
In Episode 90, I explained the things Christ has achieved and given to us in Himself, by His grace for our enjoyment. And I began to share with you things you must continue to do to continue in the enjoyment of our New Life in Christ.
How serious you take these things and continue in them will determine how rich your walk with God will be.
Take Note: These responsibilities are not to preserve and keep your salvation. For it is God who keeps you from falling. The Salvation which you have received is the responsibility of God. Your growth in the newness of life is your responsibility. This explains why many people have been saved in Christ, yet they are not enjoying the richness of their inheritance in Christ.
These episodes will enrich you;
When you take hold of these things I have shared with you, you shall not stumble in your walk with God.
In Episode 101— THE ETHEREAL TRANQUIL, I shared some insight on the transcendency of the peace we have in Christ.
This is a rich matter which should set you on a journey where you will not be moved by any storm of this world.
These things sustained the faith of the saints who began this race. There is a reason they were not moved by the persecution, the rejection, and the troubling times they faced.
They continued to shine forth the light of God in the darkest places. They died with joy and peace while they were burnt at stake, given to wild beasts, crucified and experienced cruel executions.
Nothing moved even the saints who witnessed such cruelty towards their fellow brethren in the Lord. They were deeply entrenched in this truth I am sharing with you.
Now again look at what you are to do with this PEACE of Christ:
“Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.]“ John 14:17 (Amplified)
Oh glory!
We know we did not receive the PEACE the world gives. We have the PEACE OF CHRIST. However, when we are confronted by challenges the Perfect peace of Christ doesn’t just find expression automatically.
Our Lord Jesus instructed,
LET MY PERFECT PEACE calm you in every circumstance.
He is not going to let it calm you. You have to let His perfect peace calm you. He has already given you that PEACE, what do you now do with it?
Definitely, you may be confronted by challenges, however, you have to make this PEACE OF CHRIST rule in your heart.
Submit yourself to the controlling force, the government, or the hegemony of the PEACE of Christ.
Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts [deciding and settling questions that arise]. To this peace indeed you were called as members in one body [of believers]. And be thankful [to God always].Colossians 3:15 (Amplified)
The Perfect Peace of Christ has to influence your relationship with the saints as well.
Beloved, don’t choose fear, anxiety, doubts and worry. Let the peace of God have its full dominance in your heart.
To engage and supply the PERFECT PEACE of Christ, you have to PRAY and make SUPPLICATION with THANKSGIVING amid every storm.
It means you don’t bear the burden of the storm or the challenge. Through prayer and supplication, you put God’s strength to work. And you go about your day with thanksgiving.
Hallelujah!
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 (TLB).
Do you see why you must continue steadfastly in prayer?
The PEACE of God will keep or garrison your heart as you pray.
The peace of God can be as regiment or squadron or battalion, which will defend, fortify and occupy your mind and heart from the vicissitudes of this world.
It has what it takes to displace worry at the center and borders of your life.
Let the PERFECT PEACE OF CHRIST RULE IN YOUR HEART.
SHALOM!
DIG DEEPER
(Isaiah 26:3; 2 Corinthians 10:5; Philippians 4:9; Job 22:21;Romans 8:6; Romans 5:1; Isaiah 27:5; )
WE PRAY
– That as we pray we bring every imagination, every high thing and every thought to the obedience of Christ and that our hearts will be garrisoned with the perfect peace of God.
