REMAIN STEADFAST IN LOVE 2
“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.” John 15:9 (NKJV)
We have seen the extensiveness and the intensity of the Love of Christ, through all eternity; from the previous episode.
(Yet, there is more to behold in the love of Christ).
Christ is the embodiment of the fullness of the Love of God. He is inseparable of the Love of God. When you come into Christ, you have come into the beautiful multi-dimensional realm of His love.
This immeasurable and incomprehensible love of Christ is poured into us by the Holy Spirit.
Thus, we are mingled with His love.
This is not designed only for our enjoyment. This love is to become our expression.
Nevertheless, your continuous expression of the love of Christ, is dependent on how you abide in Him.
The word abide, is from the Greek word, menō, which means, to continue, dwell, remain or stand steadfastly, to endure, to be present and tarry.
We have the unforceful responsibility to actively remain steadfast in Him.
To abide in Christ, is to essentially receive and trust all that the Father is for Christ.
It is to steadfastly delight in Christ’s love and joy towards the Father and His family.
You don’t turn away from the love of Christ. You are intrinsically satisfied only in Christ.
This is crucial for your fruit-bearing in Christ.
The goal of our Lord Jesus (to have you remain steadfast in Him) is that, you will become fruitful as He is.
” I am the true Vine, and My Father is the vinedresser…Remain in Me, and I [will remain] in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself without remaining in the vine, neither can you [bear fruit, producing evidence of your faith] unless you remain in Me “ John 15:1,4 (Amplified Bible)
To remain in His love, is to stand firm in the consciousness of His love. And to persevere to walk in the power of His love.
This is how faith finds meaning and validation.
The more you remain and behold the love of Christ, the more you are supplied with the richness of God’s grace.
This produces in you an unwavering faith of God.
Faith is our response to the supply of God’s love in us.
Faith works through love. (Galatians 5:6)
Faith is having full confidence in who God is, what He has said and the might of His power. You please the Lord when Faith finds expression through love.
No wonder Paul had to pray for the brethren in Ephesus concerning this:
“And I pray that he would unveil within you the unlimited riches of his glory and favor until supernatural strength floods your innermost being with his divine might and explosive power.
Then, by constantly using your faith, the life of Christ will be released deep inside you, and the resting place of his love will become the very source and root of your life.” Ephesians 3:16-17 (TPT).
See the verses 17-18 in Amplified version:
“May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love. That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it]”
Being rooted in Christ, empowers you strongly to apprehend and handle the multifaceted dimensions of love.
You are rooted and grounded in love, by these:
1. By filling your heart and head with the truth of Christ and the demonstration of His love.
2. By the strengthening of the Spirit in your inner man so that Christ dwells (manifestly) in your heart by faith.
I call you blessed.
Shalom
DIG DEEPER
(Ephesians 2:21-22; Colossians 1:23; Luke 6:48)
WE PRAY
– That Christ would unveil within us the unlimited riches of His glory and favor until supernatural strength floods our innermost being with His divine might and explosive power.
– That Christ will be more and more at home in our hearts, living within us as our trust in him. May our roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love.
