HOW TO LIVE UNTO HIS GLORY 3
“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good deeds and moral excellence, and [recognize and honor and] glorify your Father who is in heaven”
Matthew 5:16
We continue answering the question:
“How can you live unto God’s glory?”:
We have already seen three items:
1. You honor the Lord by setting your heart on Him.
2. You honor the Lord through obedience to God’s command.
3. You honor the Lord with your Life and love for others.
These items cannot be overemphasized. You are placed here on earth by the Father, for you to be an expression of Him; just as Jesus was an example of the Father.
When you became born again, God made you His workmanship in Christ Jesus unto good works; which He has foreordained that you walk in them (Ephesians 2:10).
You are not living for yourself. He gave you His life and designed how you have to live it unto His glory.
The people of the world are blinded by the god of this world and their traditions (2 Corinthians 4:4). They lack the true understanding and picture of God.
The life of the Father in you gives you the capacity to shine and show forth His glory.
When the people of the world argue they cannot see God, and doubt the truth about His love and excellence; your life is the tangible epistle of the love-life and the kindness of God.
“The only letter of recommendation we need is you yourselves. Your lives are a letter written in our hearts; everyone can read it and recognize our good work among you.” 2 Corinthians 3:2 (NLT)
When people refuse to read the scriptures to know God, they read your life. The way you live must be a reflection of the reality of God.
You cannot be born again and be unforgiving and unloving.
Why must you be an embodiment of God’s love and be envious and jealous of others?
How can you carry the light and the glory of God in you and struggle to demonstrate excellence in what you do?
When the people of the world feel God is too far away, the way you live and love must be the magnification of God.
Look at Paul’s bold utterance:
“For I fully expect and hope that I will never be ashamed, but that I will continue to be bold for Christ, as I have been in the past. And I trust that my life will bring honor to Christ, whether I live or die” Philippians 1:20 (NLT)
His confidence is that, irrespective of the persecutions, he will not be ashamed of his stand in the Lord; but will continue to make his life bring honor to God whether he is alive or dead. The sincere truth is that, to this day, Paul’s life always brings honor to God.
His life honored and glorified God when he was alive and even now that he is dead. Just as the life lived by the other apostles of Jesus.
What a mindset!
The word used for “HONOR” in Philippians 1:20, is from the Greek word, ” megalunō”. Which means to make (or declare) great that is increase or enlarge, magnify, and show that something is great. It is to extol.
This is how your life must be lived. Your life is like a telescope or a microscope. Through their eyes, as a telescope, your life makes many who think God is far see Him as a Father who sticks closer than a friend. For those who assume God is small, your life serves as a microscope by which they can behold the greatness of God.
Make a decision today to make the people around you see and understand God by how you live and love others.
Practice the love of God. (Read more about the practice of love here and here).
Shalom.
In the glorious name of Jesus.

Daniel 1 19 Then the king interviewed them, and among them all none was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah; therefore they served before the king.
20 And in all matters of wisdom and understanding about which the king examined them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers who were in all his realm.
21 Thus Daniel continued until the first year of King Cyrus.
I exhibit the glory of God in all things
My life is a testament of the goodness of God unto many.
