HOW TO LIVE UNTO HIS GLORY 2
“Whether you eat or drink, live your life in a way that glorifies and honors God.”
1 Corinthians 10:31 (TPT)
We started answering the question:
“How does what you do GLORIFY GOD?”
Or How do you practically honor and glorify God?
You don’t have to struggle for answers. Just pay attention to the examples and teachings of Jesus. Our Lord Jesus came to show us how to relate with the Father. He showed the things which matter to God and are according to His will.
To honor and glorify God, you must live as Jesus lived. You must also do what He has said.
From the previous discussion, we looked at two things to do to HONOR THE LORD.
We looked at the need to be inspired by your inward devotion and purity of heart. The Lord expects that you honor Him with your heart and with your lips (Matthew 15:8).
Your honor to God is built from your personal relationship with Him.
When you love the Lord with all of your heart, your soul, and your mind, you will live to please Him and for His glory.
Until you genuinely love the Lord you cannot keep His commandments.
Secondly, we have the command of the Lord to:
“…Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone” Mark 16:15 (NLT)
It is the desire of God to get many saved (1 Timothy 2:4). And as you participate in this great desire of the Father, you honor and glorify Him.
3. YOU CAN ALSO HONOR THE LORD WITH YOUR LIFE AND LOVE FOR OTHERS.
It is not everyone who has access to God through the scriptures. Though the created things declare the glory of God (Psalm 19:1-2), you are the perfect poetry of God to the world.
You are the WORKMANSHIP OF GOD (Ephesians 2:10). The word WORKMANSHIP is from the Greek word, “POIEMA”, which is also the root word for POEMS. To be His workmanship is to be the POEM of God. You are God’s deepest expression revealing His good works. Your life is designed to be the revelation of the good works of God.
By the good works of Jesus through His death and resurrection, you were justified (declared righteous) and given the newness of life.
The people of the world may not understand the good works which Christ has wrought in you unto righteousness. However, as they see the good works of righteousness based on how you live, the Lord will be glorified through you.
You got saved by the good works of Christ. And you glorify the Lord through your good works of righteousness.
Jesus said,
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 (NKJV).
The life of God in you is the light of men (John 1:4). As you live out this life, they see your good works, which showcase the God color and beautification to many. And this impact on your life will cause men to glorify God.
Hallelujah!
Shalom.
In the glorious name of Jesus.
Titus 1 – 3
